"What if we take a rock and throw it onto the trapped flagstone from a distance to see what happens?" Narstin suggests.
Before there is anymore discussion, Beegred finds the largest rock / rubble that he can find (and lift), and tosses it on top of the flagstone.
Then backs off, if anything comes up or drops down.

It takes fifteen minutes, but Beegred finds a sizable stone to shot-put towards the flagstone. The stone lands with a thud and the flagstone cracks in the middle and sags as if unsupported from underneath. The 'thud' echoes through the halls and also from underneath. The party doesn't perceive any kind of triggered trap, such as acid/rocks falling, or boulder rolling down the slope, darts, blades, etc..
After waiting for a very long 30 seconds, Beegred has the long armed Skameros move up in order to give the flagstone a good hit to break it all the way. But as Beegred explains, the others notice the fracture in the flagstone fill with black liquid. The liquid bubbles up from this cracked flagstone forming a large pustule, which goes on to grow, filling the passage from wall to wall. Still, it continues to grow until a large black ooze type mass sits quivering ahead of you, in your path.
Initiative:
Beegred: 18
Narstin: 4
Rodolfo: 8
Skameros: 21
Jimjar: 5
Black Pudding: 6

When Skameros strikes the black pudding with his great axe, the creature reacts by splitting into two medium creatures to avoid taking the damage. Unfortunately, the greataxe still submerged into the creature long enough to suffer acidic damage. It now does permanent -1 damage.
Beegred and Rodolfo both score solid hits on one of the creatures. Yet these are not insubstantial like the other oozes, they remain, blocking the passage.
"No weapons with slashing! Find something else, even if you have to throw rocks."

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
One split black pudding was the focus of all attacks, and it appears to be struggling to retain it's form as it flops into a puddle then reforms itself with effort. (It's looking about dead)
Black Pudding 1 attacks Beegred:
Pseudopod Attack: 10 Damage: 9 + 16 acid damage. On a hit, non-magical armor AC is reduced by 1.
Black Pudding 2 attacks Skameros:
Pseudopod Attack: 10 Damage: 4 + 15 acid damage. On a hit, non-magical armor AC is reduced by 1.
(NOTE: I forgot to hit Beegred with acid splash damage for hitting the Black Pudding. We'll say you dodged the first splash, but now you know. Attack it in melee, get splashed.)
(@Skameros.... unbelievable...add another 15 acid damage because those dice didn't get doubled for the crit.)
(Everyone goes. BP1 is almost dead. Skameros is almost dead.)
Beegred will continue to attack the weakened half of the pudding (understanding the acid splash is coming if he hits).
Drow short sword + Hunter's Mark Attack: 13 Damage: 16
Assuming this kills this half of the blob, and assuming Rodolfo restrains the other half (with a Viscous Glob), Beegred will move away from the blob (risking an AoO) to get out of melee range. He then transfers Hunter's Mark with a bonus action.
If either of the assumptions don't happen, Beegred will not move.

Rodolfo shoots of 3 magic missiles for a total of : 12 force damage.
Beegred uses his bonus action for Hunter's Mark. Then uses the magic short sword to attack.

Rodolfo sees no point in shooting a blob with a glob, so he shoots a magic missile instead: 6
Jimjar throws another dart: Attack: 21 Damage: 6
Beegred finishes off the one half of the black pudding and takes 3 acid damage as some of the liquid splashes onto him. Beegred holds his ground.
Rodolfo and Jimjar both hit the other half, which is still looking whole.
