Orubis runs into the next chamber and is faced with a grisly scene. Phosphorescent lichen illuminates this cave, the floor of which is covered with pools of green slime. More green slime clings to the ceiling and forms hideous drapes along the wall. Just around the corner is a slime covered throne.
Three adolescents, part of the strike team, lie prone and unconscious among the pools of acid. Narstin, head sizzling, scarred and devoid of his usual mane of hair and beard crawls on hands and knees from one unconscious gnome towards another. A big glob of slime falls from the ceiling onto Narstin's back and he recoils from the pain as it begins to eat away at his flesh. He rolls around on the ground, trying to wipe it off.
From around the corner, the voice of a strike team member is raging at what must be the Pudding King, feral and wild. Then the creature chortles in joy, "More guests!? Callooh! Callay! Now you can join the party!" he cackles. "You can be one with the Faceless Lord. Just let yourselves be eaten and disgorged!".
(Dread Ambusher would be nicer if it was the first attack during combat, instead of only the first round of combat. On the map, that outcrop of rock around M5-N5 is rather annoying. I can make a straight line from H6 to the PuddingKing, but if I mismeasured, I'll have to do a different action this round.)
With his extra burst of speed on the first turn of combat (+10' movement), Beegred reaches H6. He is just able to see the Pudding King, Beegred's eye guided by the movements of the strike team member at Q2.
While he would like to help Narstin, Beegred's action this round is to fire 3 arrows at the Pudding King.
Use Bonus Action to cast Hunter's Mark on the PK. (Last 1st level spell slot, but he still has a few 2nd level slots.)
Attack1: 12 Damage: 10
Attack2: 11 Damage: 7
Dread Ambusher Attack: 12 Damage: 12

Beegred tries to squeeze three shots between the cave wall and the stone throne, but the angle is tiny and The Pudding King leans out of the way, foiling Beegred's attacks.
Strike Team @ initiative 12 death saving throw: 16
Pudding King flicks his hand out splashing Strike Team @ initiative 5 with a spray of acid.
Orubis moves to K6 where he casts spare the dying on the strike team member at K5, then follows up with healing word on E5 calling out "Get out while you can! We'll try to handle this!"
Skameros sighs, releases a high pitched scream (rage) then rushes after Beegred to H8
He will see Beegred shooting arrows somewhere off to the right and then use is action to dash in that direction to P3 (leaping over the throne if need be)

Orubis casts spare the dying on the gnome at his feet. The gnome's laborious breathing evens out as the internal damage to their lungs is repaired. They roll over a bit, seemingly comfortably asleep, although their face looks like a mess of scars and melted flesh.
Following up with a healing word, the flesh around the eyes, ears, nose and mouth regenerates and their breathing also eases. They quickly sit up and take stock of the situation.
Skameros runs past screaming, towards the Pudding King.
Strike Team (@L1) coughs and sputters from their injuries: (death saving throw: 5)
Narstin, unaware of Orubis or his spell, crawls over on hands and knees to the gnome and casts Spare the Dying, to no effect. He begins to curse to the gods, his spell not taking effect and thinking he is too late.
Strike Team (@Q2) slams a pair of rocks held in each hand against the form of The Pudding King, who was already looking very haggard, with long strips of flesh hanging off his form from many places. With the latest blow, the flesh sloughs off and reveals the form of an ooze underneath.
Rodolfo starts off with casting expeditious retreat on himself and running up (50 feet) to where he would have a good view of the ... ooze (M1 sounds about right).
He will shoot off a ray of frost at it: Attack: 14 Damage: 11

(Sorry got a bout of covid here and have been AFK- on his turn Thurnir will try to shoot the ooze formerly known as the pudding king with his crossbow)
(Actually, I should apologize. I seem to have missed Thurnir in the initiative order. I will add him prior to Rodolfo.)
RETCON - prior to Rodolfo's turn: Thurnir moves up to get line of sight on the ooze being fought by the strike team, and successfully strikes the creature. (Bolt dissolves and is not recoverable).
Beegred moves to L3 (avoiding the green splotches). Assuming that is a low table, he stands on it to give him a better vantage on the Ooze-formerly-known-as-the-PudKin.
Before firing two more arrows, he says a prayer. "Crom, I have never prayed to you before. Mostly because I don't believe in you, but whatever... All that matters is that today, we are standing against many blobs, including that thing over there... Valor pleases you, so grant me this one request. Stop making my attacks miss! It is annoying me... And if you do not listen, the HELL with you!"
Attack1: 25 Damage: 11
Attack2: 23 Damage: 8
(Crom let him hit, I guess, but those pitiful damage rolls must be payback for the cussing.)

Beegred runs around the various pools of acid and leaps onto the stool to shoot two arrows into the oozing form that was The Pudding King.
Strike Team (@E5) finally get their bearings, stands on their wobblily on their feet and yells, "No! This is our victory. Blingdenstone will free itself. It will not beg others to do it for them." They dash towards the ooze (ending @L4).
The Pudding King moves away from Strike Team (@Q2) and starts spider climbing on the nearby wall, ending 10 ft up (@R4). Strike Team (@Q2) gets an attack of opportunity and hits the ooze with a rock held in a fist causing acid to splash back and burn their already horribly mutilated arms.
The Pudding King then attacks Strike Team (@L4) with a psychic crush. They hold their head in agony as their eyes and ears begin to bleed, before falling prone and unconscious once again.

I think it’s Thurnir again- if The pudding king is still Up, the dour dwarf loads and shoots his crossbow again for 18 to hit and 10 damage. If the pudding king is down, he shoots the most threatening looking ooze of immediate concern.
Orubis leaps over the unconscious Strike Team member at his feet to cast Spare the Dying on another. Then reaching out, he casts Healing Word, repairing the worst of the damage that threatened another Strike Team member's life.
Skameros sinks his greataxe into the oozing form that was recently a gnome, but the ooze seems impervious to the slashing damage. The axe on the other hand, does not seem impervious to the corrosive ooze, and it quickly loses its edge. (-2 to damage).
The Strike Team member (@L1) sits up and takes stock of the situation. They stand on their feet and move towards the ooze on the wall, mumbling, "We have failed. Blingdenstone can't stand on it's own." They pick up a rock and throw it at the ooze, hitting it for minor damage.
Narstin sits on his arse and raises his mutilated hands to this badly damaged face and eyes, and beseeches his deity for help. After a few moments, his form slumps, dejected when nothing happens.
The Strike Team member (@Q2) moves towards Skameros, cursing profusely in bad undercommon, "Fool! Blades cause oozes to split. Get out of our way, we can do this." They pick up a large stone and shot put it above the ooze, so it falls back onto it in an attempt to knock it off the wall.
Thurnir moves to a position with a better angle on the climbing ooze and shoots another bolt into the creature.

Rodolfo moves more northward and shoots magic missiles at the ooze (2nd level) for 16
Rodolfo's magic missiles swirl around people and obstacles as they unerringly make their way to the ooze, slamming into it with visible force.
