(Well, 3 of 5 possible rolls are already 10 or less... Off to a good start!)
Your party sets out from Blingdenstone, not worried in the slightest about dangers this near to the Svirfneblin settlement. Beegred takes direction from Smolva, your stone faced guide, and moves ahead to scout. The chatter and general din as the party travels falls on Beegred's nerves and he snaps himself, telling the others to "shut up". Not long after that outburst, Beegred comes upon a cloud of darkness nearly 50 feet ahead that even his umbral sight can't penetrate.

Beegred moves closer to the group, and calls out, "Hey, there is a cloud of darkness nearly 50 feet ahead that even my darkvision can't penetrate. I hope it isn't those cowardly Drow hiding in the dark like usual."

Rodolfo and Beegred look around the area that was covered by the Darkness spell and discover signs that more than one creature were 'camping' in a small nook for some time. They appear to have recently left in a hurry. From some of the discarded bits and pieces, you find cooked and/or prepared food wastes, so these creatures are intelligent and civilized.
Orubis and the rest of the party continue to pay attention to their surroundings, but don't perceive any immediate threats.
(Any signs that the food was rations of Drow make? Beegred is the only one left from the former Drow prisoners, but he might recognize certain foods or packaging that are specific to those Drow.)

As Beegred examines the food that Skameros hasn't already eaten, Smolva takes a look over his shoulder and says, "Those are grown by Blingdenstone at our farms. They don't really grow anywhere else nearby. Either those were brought here from quite a distance, or they were stolen from us... They don't really taste very good unless they're cooked a certain way, which is why we chose them as crops. Don't have to worry about wild beasts getting into our crops."
While the Skameros eats and the others scour the area Rodolfo moves up the path about 30 feet and starts to ritually cast alarm (setting a mental alarm). The idea being that our group can pass by, but should anyone else decide to follow then he would be notified.
Rodolfo says, "Ok, lets continue. We have learned as much as we can from here."
Your guide navigates the underdark, leading your party towards The Silken Paths. Beegred scouts slightly ahead, using his umbral skills to provide early warnings when dangers lurked. Magic assistance provides sustenance without needing to wander to forage, and also provides a safe space to sleep. Even though Rodolfo's alarm rang in his head not long after leaving the site of the dispelled darkness cloud, your party managed to avoid any further conflicts, although evidence of violence and the general madness permeating the Underdark was found many times.
You found tunnels and caves spattered with excessive quantities of fresh gore. Much more than a predator would produce. These creatures went to great lengths to rip and tear bodies apart.
There were plenty evidence for the passing of oozes, as they etched the stone they crossed, or left pools of liquified rock where they died.
You found dead myconids and other underdark races overtaken with growths of spores until they were barely recognizable.
All kinds of markings warning of the dangers of demons, in the various languages of the Underdark races, were freshly etched into tunnel entrances. In other places, demonic markings were plain to see, such as a stylized 'Y'.
You crossed a battlefield littered with the dead bodies of minotaurs and gnolls.
You found another sight of battle where the bones and corpses of long dead creatures where intermixed with bodies of freshly killed drow.
All along, each of you swear you hear whispering and taunting and gibberish whispered just behind your ears. Sleep is constantly filled with nightmares.
You all reach the unmistakable chasm, so wide no one can see through the darkness to the other side, filled with lattices of webs in various sizes from those barely big enough to catch an insect, to webs so thick they would probably give giants pause. After all this time searching for a way out of the Underdark, here is a route that is suspected to head straight up to where you want to go. All you need to do... is climb webs purpose made to catch creatures that touch them.
Rodolfo whispers, "Well well well. I'll start preparing some safety."
He backs off a few paces and starts a routine familiar to everyone at this point - ritually creating a tiny hut just in case of ... anything.
(edit:) But before he gets too far he perks up and asks everyone how much they weigh.
"I have this trick that can levitate up to 500 pounds. If we all tie ourselves to Skameros then I can lift us upwards quite a long ways. It's up to him to keep close to a wall in order to be able to maneuver."
Beegred: "It only lasts an hour at a time, butPass without Tracemight help climbing the webs. The spell dampens noises/vibrations and hides physical traces, so I think it would hide most of the web movements, if spiders are around.
"Let me know if or when I should cast it... And tell me directly. There is no need for whispering and taunting and gibberish behind my back."

Rodolfo says, "Hold on, I have a new trick."
He will cast dispel magic on the darkness (should be able to target it as a "magical effect" ?)
Without contest, Rodolfo dispels the cloud of darkness. From 50 feet away, there is nothing obvious to see besides the winding tunnel beyond.
