As the force wall fizzles out, Perry says to Mari, "Now's our chance, apprentice! Get those burgling tools ready."
Perry assists Mari with the trapdoor. He provides commentary to "help" the rogue do her work, "No, no, I think you turn it the other direc...oh nope, you were correct, apprentice. My you are learning quickly! Now don't forget to unhook that latch there. Can't forget to do that if you want to properly unlock the door you see. Make sure to listen for the right click there. We wouldn't want to burn through all our lockpicks!"
Perry Help action to unlock the door. Assuming Mari has +4 DEX mod and +3 Proficiency for Thieves Tools.
Seeing the lack of progress and disappointed that the stone stops so soon, Lawrance tells Geode “dig a trench then, and see if the wall stone is easier. If not, we’ll all go out the trap door once it’s cleared. You can just help us where you can, please. “

Poljen curses under his breath, then uses the link to say to the others, {If nothing attacks us immediately, there was nothing threatening in that barracks just back up the hall.}
Perhaps aided by having done this task already, Mari manages to open the trapdoor mechanism once again, and the trapdoor swings down. The room above looks clear.

"Alright everyone, let's get out of this creepy skeletal acid tunnel now. We should keep moving forward," Perry says to the group as he and Mari make their way out. "Ok Mari, you are probably super freaked out after that ordeal, but you must be brave. All of us have your back and we must press on to get out of here."
The two wait for the others to join.
Once everyone is ready to continue, Mari nods to Poljen then heads out in front stealthily to continue exploring the hallway to the south. She keeps an eye out for any traps or dangers as she moves forward. Meanwhile, Perry is hanging around the middle of the pack but he also keeps an eye out for danger.
Poljen nods and follows Mari. {We will try to find anything useful along the way.} He pads along with the rogue, doing his best to stay quiet and alert.
Once out of the pit, Lawrance keeps a wary eye out for any spell casting against his reconstituted friend, ready to defend magically their new ally. Before they completely vacate the pit, however, Lawrance's curiosity has him ask Gamliel to coast down there and see what the acid is doing once it hits the ice underneath the castle, looking through the familiar's senses for a moment. Once they see the results, he has the spirit shift into the pocket realm for safety.
(L) %What do you do there, anyways? Is there at least entertainment or something?%
(G)*It's actually somewhat interesting. The pocket plane is alterable by mental emissions, so you can imagine and shape it's reality to whatever you want, within your own experience. I use it to recall memories of my offspring and progenitors, and some of the myriad adventures I've had with you physicals. I don't spend a lot of attention on it, most times, just let this extension wait in a form of stasis, but otherwise it's good debriefing. Boring to anyone else, I imagine. *

After the group is safety out of the pit and on their way deeper into the maze, Lawrance also asks Geode to periodically check the walls and floors to see if the stone ever becomes softer. Ever wary, and careful of any more specialty surprises, his own senses are extended outwards.

Not wanted the acid to reach any of them; Morgaine will follow the others out of the pit she had entered not long before and rested briefly. She will stay near the back but close to Poljen to provide any assistance she can. She keeps a keen eye out for any trouble that may come along the way, having her longsword and shield ready for anything.
Velon too climbs up out of the death tunnel and assists Lia in getting off the ground a bit before her cube blockade is breached by the rising level of flowing acid. Shutting the door that Mari had originally opened behind them all, he is relieved but claps his hands together and says "well, that was easy." "Can't wait for the next deadly room!"
As they continue moving through the stone halls, Perry approaches Geode and reassuringly pats the rock elemental on what he assumes is the arm, "There, there, Geode. You still rocked back there. I mean, who could have possibly predicted that in a place located in the far northern arctic called the Sea of Moving Ice that there would be solid ice underneath the stone. Nevertheless, do not be discouraged Geode, for we all have our faults. Let me know if you ever want to talc about it. There are sure to be a few more challenges for you to crush soon."
The shadows continue to follow behind the group as they pick their way through the passage. By now Velon's ward keeping them at bay has expired, but they have not resumed the attack for some reason. Perhaps they're hoping to catch another of the party away from the others.
Mari gets to a corner of the passage. There is a door to her right, and then another along the passage to her left. In the middle of the passage to the left, sits what appears to be a child's doll.
Mari looks uneasily at the doll laying in the passageway to the left. (( I will check the room to the right. In my opinion we should check a single door at a time to avoid springing dual traps. I assume that everything here is a test or trap. Watch out for that doll. It may be more than it appears to be. )) After communicating this via their link she walks to the door on the right. She listens for any sounds beyond the door and then will unlock it if safe to do so. Mari will survey the room for a moment and then toss a dagger inside to set off possible traps.
Lia stares at the doll intently. Unease grips her in this chamber of horrors unlike any she has felt before. Asking Sune for assistance she looks at the doll from a distance to determine if it might pose a danger to the party.
Velon peaks around the corner to look at the doll and says "oh, I'm sure THAT'S nothing at all...." "Where's Zara with that creepy spectral hand of hers, anyway?"
Looking back the way they came the paladin sees the shadows again and sighs. "We really should deal with those, huh? I still don't feel right after they touched me, after all. Poljen too, I'm sure." He sighs again. "Ok everyone, let me see what I can do, but please back me up with some bolts of fire and whatever that thing you do is, Perry."
When the group is ready Velon casts his spell and the increasingly familiar spectral, gold visage forms around him and then the large head of the incorporeal gold dragon appears in the hallway above the shadows and breaths a large ball of fire down upon them.
Velon readies a 4th level fireball that will engulf all of the shadows. Conditions for casting it include the spirits starting to disperse such that the fireball can't him them all, or FOUR party members readying ranged attacks to finish them off since I don't expect the fireball to actually kill them all, whichever comes first. Curious who will work with me on this...
Hearing Velon's request, Lawrance readies a fire bolt as well, firing at any shadows still 'standing' after the massive flame-burst. %I agree. We shouldn't leave these shades at our backs, else we'll end like poor Snax.%
Fire Bolt at remaining target. By preference, any target that has partial to 3/4 cover to take advantage of the Spell Sniper bonus.

Perry responds to Mari over the mental link, "A doll?" A look of horror crosses the bard's face. His eyes widen as he looks over to Velon beside him with a look of pure fear, then he says over the party line, "Y...you guys know what that means right?!"
His voice quivers, even though he is speaking telepathically and that shouldn't matter. Something about this doll in an empty hallway in a frozen undead place has clearly shaken him.
After an awkwardly long pause, Perry continues, "Dr. Freeze must be keeping children in here you guys. And there is a little boy or girl in here that is missing their doll! We should rescue them and return it as soon as we can!"
