Zz'Pzora shakes her head at the offer, "I have my own protections thank you, as does Balaena. If you have one to spare however, give it to Gabble. I intend to leave her in the safest spot we can find around here, but that would help reduce the risk further."
"So then, are we agreed upon attempting to find the flumphs? You might need to handle that yourselves, they do not tend to like my kind."
Lawrance nods "Yes, finding any allies we can for this endeavor would help us. How do you suggest we make contact? Our spokes person " Nodding at Perry "Will state our case with eloquence, style and persuasion, I'm sure, winning them over to aid us however they can."#I hope#

“Can you tell me the difference between a witch and a wizard?" "Sure, a wizard is what they call you when they want to hire you, and a witch is what they call you when they're getting ready to run you out of town.” SunWolf replied ― Barbara Hambly, The Witches of Wenshar
"If you can find them, contact should be easy enough, those weird things are often approaching people like you for some reason. I don't know if its hero worship or just recognition of a huge sucker, but you should expect to be welcomed."
"Finding them could be more of an issue, they'll probably be close to the city, but out of the way so they don't bother its inhabitants, I'd look for side caves and passages with little or no apparent traffic."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Keeping active with his Robe, he follows the advice of the guides as they move closer, keeping a look out for any side caverns or places where these flumphs may lurk.

Velon ponders the dragon's advice about the flumphs, but doesn't want to take his eye off of her either. "I am open to suggestion, but as we approach and find side passages, we will send a scouting party to look for them. Poljen, Perry, Mari and Cratol should suffice."
Mari grins at Velon. " That sounds fun to me Velon. " She looks back at the dragon and her grin dissapeared. She takes out her twin blades and walks to the door.
Cratol is fine with the thought of him being one to help find the flumphs. He will work with the others to try and find them to get their help with the upcoming battle
The group presses on. The approach to the illithid city is not much different from the rest of the underdark, except that its incredibly quiet. The entire area feels... dead. It quickly becomes apparent that very few creatures enter or remain in this region.
The first time you do hear noise, Zz'Pzora is quick to beckon everyone to take cover. Soon enough the source becomes apparent as a group approaches out of the shadows. A large number of duergar and grey skinned gnomes like Gabble march woodenly up the tunnel. They carry an open topped palanquin in which two rather vile looking creatures sit. They will pass nearby soon.
"No need to tangle with them given our mission" Velon whispers. "Quickly, everyone, to that side passage. Let's keep some distance from them and their weird brain melting...um, stuff." Velon urges the group to move at least 120ft from the main passage if possible.
Pulling Gamliel and Aisling under his Robe to protect them within his magic, Lawrance moves rapidly with the group as they find shelter as far from the tentacled horrors as possible.

Cratol moves with the others making sure that the enchanted necklace is still upon him and around his neck. He does not wish anyone to be a slave like that but soon they will be free.
Velon silently nods for Mari, Poljen, Cratol and anyone else stealthy to go check on the main corridor and ensure the large group has passed. Once they are sure they are safe, he suggests they press on but send Perry and the stealth team down each side passage looking for flumphs.
"I wonder what attracts these Flumphs most? Maybe we can try some little magics as we go to see if they are drawn to it? Or maybe its just our nervousness that will bring them running." Lawrance quietly ponders to his friends as they trek the dark caverns.

Velon shrugs regarding specifics on flumphs, hoping the wizard, the bard or their new 'allies' know more. He does go ask faux-laxle if he and his team know more about flymphs as well.
When the group next finds a side passage Velon looks to Poljen with confidence and says "you know what to do" while glancing at Perry knowing the barbarian will keep an eye on the unpredictable bard.

Poljen follows the others into cover.
Morgaine follows the others and finds cover touching her necklace(bracelet) to make sure it's still there in her haste to find cover.
The group quickly scurries off into the darkness, letting the illithid and their slaves pass on by.
The passage you took dead ends a few hundred feet down, you'll have to double back to the main passage to continue.
Okay, so splitting up to search the area, what is your approach?
