Kairon has been watching the newcomer, and noticed Sanzu collecting the ears. He bends down to collect the ears from the Gnoll at his feet and tosses them to Sanzu before walking over to Shiloh, she sounded troubled to him. In the darkness, the tiefling’s red eyes glowed ever so slightly and his bone-white horns reflected moonlight giving him an eerie appearance.
“Stranger, I don’t suppose you would mind giving me a hand clearing up the remains of the gnolls? Many hands make light work!”
(Gnoll =(100xp × 4)÷7 = 54.14 round down 54 xp each .... but I will be giving you roleplaying points.... so you will get your xp when you turn in your kills and bounty.... and sleep for the night .... it is getting night .... you might make it to see the mayor if not have to wait for the morning ..... )
Shiloh's ever-so-slightly glowing blue eyes go doe-eyed at Sanzu's realization... and how it applied to her.
"What time is it?" If it were at all possible, the silver-skinned half-drow seemed to pale even more as she blanched. "Ooooh, my mother is going to kill me! You're right, Sanzu, we need to return to the village immediately... though, it might be prudent to inform the town guard that the gnolls were so close. I'm a bit worried at how bold these four were."
"Well," Baredark walks back to the buck, to help string it up to a limb, "I was hoping to get another kill, but with the gnoll attack, I agree it would be best to get back."
i find if we leave the bodies nature will take care of the rest burning them will only gain attention and i don't think we want that attention" *turns to head back to the woods having never received an invite from anyone*
Following his elven mother's teachings, Nirev tries to be reserved and polite. He stands straight, looks the fellow elf in the eyes... But then, he can't help it. He just loves making friends, and a fellow elf too!
"Sure Colonel, tag along!", he says joyfully, without consulting the rest of the party.
About the gnolls, he agrees with the newcomer. "Yes, burning is unnecessary."
The half elf sounds too excited with all the nightly commotion to realize he is tired as well.
You all head back to the village... the guards let you in .... and there proud of you with that fine buck and the ears of some gnolls. You drag in and just head home to ahit the bed with out saying good night... Colonel hit the tavern for a drink. Gets a room and call it a night.... sazun takes care of the buck and hit the bed too .... life was exciting this night.... as you all fall asleep......
Nirev comes home knowing his mother would be in her study. He washes before politely saying good night to her, covering the wound he got from the fight. He goes to sleep wondering who the elf that showed up was.
As he wakes up, he feels refreshed and excited. He goes find his friends to try and sell the meat they got as fast as possible.
Kairon heads to the bar for a couple drinks. He prefers the seedy place in town, as he’s found that he gets less dirty looks. The last thing he wants while he tries to unwind is to have to deal with the judgemental whispers of the folks in the “classy” joints.
“The usual” he says has he sits down at the bar and throws down some change.
When Sanzu returns home, he takes a peek into the room of the woman who raised him. Her even breaths let him know that she's fast asleep. Deciding not to bother her, Sanzu goes to his own room to get some much needed rest.
Baredark finds his usual spot in the loft of someones barn cleaned out of his hay bed recently so gathers more hay. After making an adequate bed, he lays down, weapons by his side.
After a fruity breakfast, the half elf Nirev wonders how he can hunt and trade meat so casually, being a vegetarian and all. Maybe it's the dragon in him that might make him callous as he grows up?
"Good morning, friends", Nirev says showcasing the politeness he is supposed to. He quickly sets it aside, though, and doesn't ask how they all slept. "Let's sell this meat first! The ears can wait. Maybe we can prank the sheriff and say we do a better job at protecting the town than him.", he adds with a smirk.
Shiloh had awoken after having returned home to her waiting mother, who then flicked on an oil lamp in her comfy chair by the dimmed hearth, arms crossed over her nightgown-clad form and clearly awaiting an explanation. Of course, Shiloh's elven blood had allowed her to quickly discern her mother was in the room, but that mattered little; she knew that her mother wanted an explanation.
"Do you have any idea how long past the dinner hour it is, young lady...? Where have you been? Selune forgive me, but I feel you're going to quicken me to the grave, child."
After about twenty minutes of tense questioning and a few heavy sighs of maternal anxiety, however, her mother Rachel relented.
"Alright," Rachel had said, standing up from her chair to pull her daughter into a warm, loving embrace. "I understand that you want to be with your friends, Shiloh, and even that you desire to explore the world about us. But please... be careful. You said that you fought gnolls, of all things? That is worrisome, child. The mayor should know, first thing in the morning. And... Shiloh, you need to understand, the world outside-"
"Yes, mother, I know," Shiloh replied, a bit exasperated but empathetic with her mother's worries. "The world outside of places such as Brine is much more dangerous for anyone of mixed blood, especially for young ladies like me. But... there's so much I want to see, want to do, to know, mother. There is so much beyond Brine. And... I know that it could be dangerous, especially for me, but I still want to know. And maybe even help others where I can."
"You have more of your father's free spirit than you realize, dear," Rachel smiled wistfully, squeezing her daughter gently before letting her go. "Now... why don't you have some of the stew I made from the hearth and get yourself ready for bed? If you don't watch, the morning hour will creep up before you know it."
And with that, Shiloh ate, crept outside to use the privy a few yards away from the house (enchanted to dampen any odor after mother paid a wizard to do so), washed up, dressed herself in a nightgown, read her spelltome "Arcana for the Curious and the Potential" (it was a wonder she'd convinced her mother to let her purchase it, having only been convinced after Shiloh began manifesting innate arcane power at the age of 10), read her devotional to Selune and then went to sleep.
When Shiloh awoke the next morning, she shuffled out to the kitchen to greet her mother, grabbed an apple from their fruit bowl and gave thanks before chomping on it and then headed off to get dressed. Shiloh's outfit was largely the same type as the day previous, save for the dress she wore that was cut to allow for more freedom of movement along her sides without sacrificing her modesty (and to protect her from Milo's antics), and the pair of stylized, low-heeled black leather riding boots and silver-threaded feather accents that Shiloh had repurposed for travel. Despite their rough and tumble nature, they framed Shiloh's svelte frame nicely as her father's pouch belt dangled about her waist.
After helping to set up her mother's seamstress shop and inventory for the day, Shiloh was out the door, merrily gaiting along to her friend's hom, where she finds Nirev already talking of mischief.
"Or," She added as she gently poked him in the shoulder to let him know she had arrived, "We should at least tell him and the mayor about just how close the gnolls were to town last night? They've never been so near our hunting grounds before; in fact, they've tended to give us all a wide berth after Kairon chased them away a few years ago with his magic. Does it not concern any of you that they were so relatively close to town? Gnolls tend to be single-minded, aggressive and brutal, yes, but... I'm a little concerned that they were so near to Brine. They have never been quite this bold before. At the very least, we should tell the mayor, the sheriff and the guards what happened."
"I agree with Shiloh," Baredark says gruffly as he walks up to the group, "I wouldn't want the meat to spoil, but, I figure, the town's safety is higher priority. We can always just cook the meat we have for our own lunch if it comes down to it."
*After a long rest/ meditation at the tavern room i managed to rent (you never mentioned how much it cost me) I wander around town before spotting a couple of the hunters i dealt with last night all seemingly heading the same direction and follows them to Sanzu's home*
"Hey nice to see you all again" *tries to play it casual but doesn't wanna necessarily want to miss out on any coin*

Sanzu suddenly realizes how long they've been out here and looks up to his companions.
"We should go home soon," he says.
Shiloh's ever-so-slightly glowing blue eyes go doe-eyed at Sanzu's realization... and how it applied to her.

"I'm sleepy!" Milo announces, as if shocked by that revelation. He tugs unsuccessfully at part of a gnoll. "What should we do with these?"
“Always best to burn them. Prevent the rot.” Kairon says, motioning to Milo to give it another tug, this time with Kairon’s help.
