You all look at the inn longingly, stopping briefly to let Sildar out. "I will secure rooms for us and have a table ready for your return," he says as he enters the inn. The town is fairly quiet, with few people out and about in the early morning hours of the day. Your many hours of adventuring are beginning to catch up with you and with a relieved sigh, directly across the town square from the inn is a squat building with a blue lion on its signage - the same blue lion marked on the crates in the wagon.
You stop the wagon and enter the building. It appears empty at first, then you hear a sharp voice from somewhere in a back room. "We're not open yet - come back in a few hours." As she speaks, you see a human woman, dark brown hair done up in a messy braid around her head. She is thirtyish, with sharp features and even sharper blue eyes. "It's a bit early for business, I'm afraid," she says.
Her eyes widen as Odo speaks. She moves past you to look outside at your wagon. She turns with a smile, and then her eyes narrow. “Yes, those are my supplies. And how do you happen to have them?” She whistles, a short 3 note tune, and suddenly three other men step out from the back of the building into the room.
As Mulligan explains, her face begins to clear. "Ahh, I see. Well, you have my thanks for returning my goods safely." She nods to the men and they head outside and begin lugging the crates inside and into a back room. "You dispatched all the goblins? And a bugbear?" she asks. "I've not seen you before - you're new to town?"
"Sort of. The name is Mulligan. This is Ajax, Odo, and Kai. We're Gundren's people, he hired us right before he disappeared. We were following a lead that took us to the cave where these crates were hidden."
Ajax hails at the Lionheart fellows, removing his helmet and bowing a little.
He tries to put a sincere smile
"greetings. Have you got any idea about when this load was stolen? and, I mean, does it happen often along these roads? You know, we might be travelling sooner than later and...any help or information will be very appreciated"
The woman smiles and nods her head as you all introduce yourselves. "I am Linene Graywind. Welcome to the Lionshield Coster. You have my thanks for returning my missing goods. Unfortunately, bandits are a fact of life for merchants. I was not sure what had happened to my goods, but I am glad to hear the problem has been dealt with." She smiles, but it still doesn't reach her eyes. "In any event, you should be rewarded for your good deed. One moment." She disappears into a small closet behind the counter and returns with a small pouch. "A small thank you for your help." She hands you the pouch, which contains 50gp.
"I owe you all a favor. Thank you again. Will you be in town long?" she asks.
He answers to the woman: "we are just arrived, we don't know how long we are going to stay...a favor, you said?! It depends...let's be frank, we are in need of a lot of things, if you could help, it be so kind : we are trying to help our recruiter...a merchant...it could have happened also to you..."
OOC: I wrote down the common treasury . need a perception roll to convince her?
“What kinds of things are you in need of? I sell adventuring gear here at the Coster, but you can also get other supplies at Barthen’s Provisions - surely you passed it on the way into town?” Her eyes suddenly narrow. “Your recruiter?” she asks. “Who exactly recruited you?”
Mulligan turns to the rest of the party. "We were supposed to drop this stuff off at Barthen's anyway."
Turning back to Linene, "I suspect we'll be in town for at least one night. We still need to track down Gundren. We have some idea where he might be, but getting to him might be difficult. But if you have something that needs doing, I believe we have already proven reliable."
At your explanation of Gundren and your job with him, she relaxes. "I see," she says. "I was afraid you were here because of the Redbrands. Avoid them and avoid the Sleeping Giant tavern. As to the rest of it, as I said, I have weapons, armor and the like, so perhaps later today or tomorrow you can return and see if anything interests you." She inclines her head again in thanks and head back into the closet behind the counter.

Odo seems particularly uncomfortable, eyes darting back and forth as people bustle about.
"I think I'd like to have a room at the inn as well... It's quite busy here."
Ajax agrees
((Is anyone else going with Mulligan to deliver the goods to the Lionshield Coster?))
Kyanite will tag along... His usual upbeat self, a trifle absent with all the humanity around..

Ajax changes his mind, if they go to deliver the goods right now, he will join them
Odo would prefer the inn, but will stick with the group.

"Oh, I guess we'll just keep this stolen cargo we found that was headed to Phandelin then... You must not want it back too bad."

"We found them in a cave inhabited by goblins and a bugbear. They're all dead now. Well, almost all of them."
As Mulligan explains, her face begins to clear. "Ahh, I see. Well, you have my thanks for returning my goods safely." She nods to the men and they head outside and begin lugging the crates inside and into a back room. "You dispatched all the goblins? And a bugbear?" she asks. He is a dwarf called Gundren Rockseeker, do you happen to know him by any chance? He is...
and he gives a brief explanation of the dwarf
