(It seems like half the party is in favor of taking a long rest and some folks might want to scout a bit once the sun sets, so we'll fast forward a bit. If I ever move the story forward when there's something you wanted to do let me know.)
You all make your way to the cave that Daisy found to plan a course of action and maybe settle in for the night. The entrance is a bit of a squeeze for some of you, but it's roomy enough inside for everyone. It seems like it will make a very good shelter for the night. As the sun sets, a fog rolls in from the bay. It will provide you with cover, but at the same time reducing your own ability to see. Those of you without darkvision are having a hard time seeing anything beyond the cave opening.
Does anyone want to do any scouting?

The big goliath agress with the party and gets ready to make camp.
( Can he cast speak with animals as a ritual and speak to a little bird and still gets his long rest? )
Yep you can do your ritual. During an eight hour long rest, up to two of those hours can be spent doing light activity like keeping watch or reading. I'd include casting rituals as light activity. As long as you sleep for at least six of the hours you are good to go.
It's after dark, but I'll say you hear the soft call of an owl in a nearby tree and you can preform your ritual to speak with it.
Miz looks at Daisy, thinking. Deciding on something, he says bowing, “Mizzenled Morgansoon at your service. I’d be happy to accompany you on this reconnaissance.” Pausing for a second as if he had just had an idea, he happily exclaims, “We shall be the Dwarven Duo! After all, two dwarves are better than one.”
Daisy though the fog is thick you keep your senses alert. Your scouting brings you to where the forest borders the bay and... you and Miz start to hear a soft but pleasant voice singing out in the fog. I'm going to need Wisdom Saves from both of you.

Mandibles clicking nervously as her dwarf companion heads off toward the song, spider-Daisey jumps in front of Mizz and tries to get him to the ground.
Athletics 11 to grapple - If successful she'll start pulling him back to the woods.
Miz, for the moment you are charmed and compelled to follow the sound. Make an athletics or acrobatics check to try and escape- but after that make another Wisdom Save. The DC is 11 and if you pass you are no longer charmed.
(If anyone else has anything they want to be doing in the meantime back at camp feel free.)
Edit: Scratch that, I looked at the ability and you are technically incapacitated so you don't struggle when the huge spider tackles you.

"Well, lets get a move on," Daisy replies. "I don't know how long I will stay a dwarf though on this little excursion," she flashes a smile.
