Aria, always concerned with improving her hunting skills and equipment, places 5 gp's on the counter... I will take the fletchings. I can see why this place is so revered and why a young girl would want to work here.

Hoard of the Dragon Queen - Jalt Rhogar - Dragonborn Cleric (9)
Myrtle looks at the items Crush has and tells him it'll cost him 5 gold for the lot. At Aria's compliment, she just bows her head.
To Sen's question, Myrtle tells you that lots of people who would come into the shop liked talking to Anna more than her (why, she has no idea), that Anna was always very friendly with people, but never seemed to have any friends of her own - she always seemed to be kind of sad like that. Myrtle doesn't know anything about Anna's family, but that she does have family somewhere in Waterdeep. Myrtle says Anna never liked talking about them and she didn't want to pry, especially after she tried to use magic on her once to compel her to talk and it didn't work.
In the room:
The mirror is a teenage girl's mirror - she has painted floral designs on the glass in the corners on the bottom, a starburst in the top right. Otherwise there is nothing out of the ordinary that you can see. There is a tiny bit of adhesive used to keep the drawings on the walls; they come down without any problem.
The book on the nightstand is a copy of a journal documenting monsters that live in the undermountain, adventures people have had there, maps to hidden treasures of all sorts. It reads like a sort of historical fiction or an adventure story (OOC: Think books about legends of the pirates, or stories about the Fountain of Youth or the Lost City of Gold, some of it is true, but a lot of is speculation or just made up). The dust jacket was closed into a page talking about Misker the Pirate Tyrant.
The lock on the chest pops open without much difficulty...

Does Sen believe that she's telling the whole story or maybe holding something back? Insight14
Usul doesn't find any kind of conventional trap on the chest, but it occurs to him to give it another look, and he sees that Anna (presumably) has tied a hair across the lock. This is trapped in the adolescent protecting-her-privacy sense.
Sen thinks she is definitely holding something back.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Usul will go ahead and try to untie to hair, in order to potentially replace it after. Though they aren't exactly being careful in ransaking the room, sometimes are best kept secret if possible (DEX CHECK? 11). He'll then look in to see what's hidden and what may provide clues as to where she may have gone.
(Ooc: ice storm here just knocked out my internet apparently, and I hate trying to write and edit on my phone. Sorry everyone, guess it's a forced night off for me)

Madame Myrtle, says Sen, his face open and honest. I know you want what's best for this girl. Is there anything more you can tell us, that would aid us in understanding Anna or where she might be? It seems there are those who search for her who do not have her best interests at heart, and we must find her before they do. We cannot tell you of our employer, and he leans in to whisper this, but they are in a position to be most generous if you assist us in finding her. Deception: 17
Myrtle tells Sen that she always thought Anna was trying to run away from something, that maybe there was something at home that she was trying to escape. She also thinks maybe Anna's related to someone important, but she never did pry too much outside of the one time she tried to use magic on her and it didn't work - and she still isn't sure why it didn't work.
Crush is able to find all varieties of tobacco and cloves, some of it flavored to mask it's lack of quality, some of it just plain bad.
In the room:
Usul tries to remove the hair carefully, but it snaps and drops to the floor. That bit of teenage privacy protection dealt with, he opens the lid to the trunk and begins to look for some clue as to where Anna could have gone.
On the top, there are more clothes, haphazardly folded. As Usul goes through them, he finds a shortsword in a scabbard wrapped around a long skirt. He also finds one of Anna's sketchbooks, full of drawings she's made of places from around the city and what appears to be places in the Undermountain. Stuck into this book is a small faded portrait of a young girl seated with what one would assume to be her parents, her father robes befitting an official of Waterdeep, perhaps an arcane advisor to one of the Lords, her mother wearing a pendant for the goddess Selune.
Make another investigation check to see if Usul finds anything else.
As Usul is rummaging through the trunk he realizes there's a false bottom. He removes everything and carefully lifts it up and sets it aside.
Stashed in this hidden compartment are several maps of the Undermountain related to the lost treasures of Halaster Blackcloak. Some are places that are well-documented in Waterdeep legend, others appear to be hastily hand-drawn directions to places no one has found yet. There is also a set of caltrops, dice, playing cards, thieves tools, a pouch containing several gems, another pouch with a few gold coins in it, some ordinary jewelry, a few lockpicks, a broken dagger, a broken hilt from a shortsword, and a couple of empty sheaths for two other daggers.
He'll first take the gem and coin pouches, and caltrops, and pocket them. The maps and drawings he'll hold out for others to see, saying "It looks like Anna may have gone on an adventure"but will keep them in his possession.
((anything unique/special about the cards or dice?))
As Veryes and Alexandra approach the chest, Usul removes the dice and the playing cards and begins to examine them. A quick shuffle through the cards reveals an extra queen of diamonds, jack of hearts, and ace of hearts. One of the dice also appears to be weighted.

Crush will buy whatever the strongest brand of tobacco is before moving towards where the others disappeared to investigate Anna's room. "Done Yet!?" Crush would grunt loudly before lumbering his way out into the street and lighting his pipe while waiting on the others. While leaning heavily against the doorframe to the shop, the orc would keep an ear out for anything that my go on inside the shop while also looking around the area for any threats.
Thank you, thank you kind lady. We will not forget this assistance you have given us. Sen heads out of the doorway, just squeezing past Crush, and stands in the street, keeping an eye on the passers-by, if there are any.

Usul will put the book in his bag and slowly open the chest (traps? Investigation 14), to see what's inside
((If it's trapped that'll be kind weird... Why would this girl lock and trap a chest?...))
PbP 🎲: Tyekanik; Moneo Noree; Korba Muris; & occasional DM:
Crush will place five gold on the counter before sliding the dagger into his belt next to his other weapons and the pipe into a small pouch.

Crush would look for tobacco or other herbs that could be smoked in his new pipe while the others finish their investigation.
