(Just to confirm I slipped through in the confusion with Aria passing me the backpack unnoticed)
Veryes will get a good distance away from the gate but close enough that the party can find her easily and will wait for the rest of the party to join her.
Past the gate, heading towards the party, Usul will run around to get Muad some exercise. Getting up to Veryes, catching his breath he'll say "Whew... alright... so... where... are we... going now?"

Crush persuasion 7
"That man insult wrong orc! Lucky I so forgiving!" Crush would say to the guard as he tries to make his way through the gate without stopping "Crush paid to save girl, Crush kill anyone that stop him" The large orc would say with a deep growl as his armor clanks to a stop as he glares hard ar the guard in front of him.
The guard was about to let Crush past just to be done with him, but at the part about saving a girl, he reaches out to stop him "Whoa, whoa, whoa, there, big guy. What's this about saving a girl?"
(if there was a D&D equivalent of a shoulder radio that could make a static burst right now, it would).
Aria turns back to the guard and says "Sometimes he misspeaks... he was hired to protect me. Save girl from herself. He really is a sweet old thing, well worth the money."

Sen looks at Mother, and stays silent. He seems almost straining to speak, and straining not to speak at the same time. Eventually he blurts out, No, it's okay, I'm sorry to have bothered you. Don't worry about it. So sorry. I need to go. He rushes from the room.
Sen would like to try to find a hidden place, inside the Save Point, where he can store the item where it won't be found, but without anyone knowing about it. Is there a dusty storeroom, cobweb-filled basement, or anywhere else suitable? Perception: 16
The guard is totally not convinced by Aria's explanation of what Crush meant to say, but lacking any evidence, there isn't much he can do. He gives them the brush off and tells them to go and that he'll see them back at this gate at sundown.
(If this was a Telltale game, there'd be a line like 'Random Town Guardsman Will Remember This....)
At the Save Point, Sen backs out of his conversation with Mother and independently tries to find a hiding place by himself, but to no avail, making his panic even worse than it was. He's in the backroom that is used to store what food and other donations they are able to collect to stay open. Mother appears behind him and clears her throat to get his attention, and then says, "Come now Sendon, you aren't the first person here with something they are trying to escape from something. Here." She reaches into her hair and feels around for a second, and then pulls out a bobby pin. "Here, here," she says. She motions for Sen to follow her out of the storage room (I assume that he would follow). She leads him into the main sleeping area, and looking around to make sure that they do not have any patrons right now, pushes aside the straw and rags that are (coincidentally!) the spot Crush has been using as a bed, and then retrieves her stool and drags it over to where the bed was. She leans down and traces a sigil on the floor with the pin, and the floorboards seem to vanish and are replaced by what would look to Sen like something resembling a portable hole.
She looks up at Sen, very proud of herself. "Here, Sendon. Put your worries in here."
Having caught his breath, Usul will sit down against a tree with Muad, and pull Dib out of his pocket. Since it's only them and Veryes around he feels pretty at ease. While giving Dib a small bite of cheese, and a bone to Muad, he'll turn to Veryes and ask "so... Why do you think this guy is paying so well just to take his bag to a group over thataway?" pointing southeast. "Should we be expecting trouble? Or is the hard part already done?"
"Crush very sweet" he will say with a grunt as he makes his way out through the gate, pulling out his bone pipe and lighting up some cheap tobacco as he moves to rejoin the rest of the group.
"Yes he is" Aria says as she pats him on the shoulder as they make their way to Veryes and Usual. Aria will motion for the backpack.. "That was a bit odd with Sen. I wonder what's going on. But at the same time, we should really get going to the camp. That guard was right, we don't want to be out here too much past sundown."

Talking with Usul "Oh I'm sure our trouble hasn't even begun. I suspect trying to get the rest of the payment for the bag once it's delivered is going to be a problem and I'm not too familiar with this area so I don't know what we'll encounter on the way. Looks like the dog is finally warming up to you though!"
Veryes had a moment of thinking if she should do something to intervene with Crush and Aria at the gate but decided against it and is glad to see them clear the gate. Shaking her head "That looked close." Then she laughs "Boy, we're just making friends left and right in this city!"
"So what do we do about Sen? That was pretty sketchy of him running off like that. I know he's kinda jumpy but that was just... odd"

My house rules
Usul is able to pass through without issue. Veryes is as far away from the gate as necessary to feel safe.
At the Save Point, Mother considers Sen's request, and says, "My poor boy. Of course. What kind of space do you need? What is it?"

Aria hasn't strayed too far away from the gate waiting for everyone to get through. (Would she see/hear what's going on with Crush?)

Her passive perception is 14, so I'd say definitely yes.
