Mobya decides to stay at camp and continue to guard the basket. The way she sees it, there’s little she can do that her better-equipped for fighting comrades cannot. In fact, Mobya has to admit that she’s not really much of a fighter, and she’s not very good at it. Nurturing plants, animals, and all sorts of beings seem to be her path in life. “I will stay here too” she says to her companions
Ayra's first priority had been to ensure the safety of the younglings. Now, with the others (and Mobya in particular) remaining at camp, she feels confident that they will be well protected. She takes a last look at the babies, and smiles warmly at Mobya “I know you will keep them safe.”
With one deep breath, she prepares herself to join in battle for the first time, then follows Wraeven and Agozar into the woods. [using dash to quickly run as close as possible to the action]
As Ayra rushes of into the forest, she uses her keen senses to move smoothly through the dim forest, and with your elven dark vision, you even register a small flower bush opening into bloom after the rains. Following the path well tread by her companions, Ayra ends up next to her new acquaintance, the firbolg, a few twigs and leaves caught on his hairy shoulders and arms.
Silv'ar is up.
Unknown Creature 1 (who Morn & Wraeven had been chasing) - 22
Wraeven -20
Lil - 18 - staying at camp
Mobya
Unknown Creature 2 (Who Alesandair and Silv'ar are chasing) -14
Harpy(Who appeared in the flash of sacred flame) - 13
As Ayra joins Agozur, she tells him about the flowering bush she saw. "This must be a good omen" she says, and softly but cheerily sings and excerpt from Simon and Garfunkel's "Flowers Never Bend with the Rainfall", giving him bardic inspiration.
"Through the corridors of sleep Past shadows dark and deep My mind dances and leaps in confusion I don't know what is real I can't touch what I feel And I hide behind the shield of my illusion
So I'll continue to continue to pretend My life will never end And flowers never bend With the rainfall"
Silv'ar stands bravely beside Alesandair ready to move, enjoying the lilting echo of the elven voice behind him. He will hold action ready to strike or move in synchrony with Al.
Still holding the shield in front of me for visibility, I will walk forward relatively cautiously whilst scanning the area for either of the creatures and will attack upon sight of them.
Whispering to Silv'ar before i set off, "This started out as a simple escort mission and now it has turned into a search and rescue mission. This is reminiscent of working for the military. I guess you can never really get out of that lifestyle once you're sucked in."
OOC: was i able to rest long enough to recover a spell slot, or no?
Al, moving forward slowly, you and Silv'ar cover about 20 ft, and as you scan your eyes across straining to search to the edge of the dim light cast by your shield, the glare directly in front of you is a bit intense to look through and around. Still, you see the blood trail left on the ground by your prey every few feet. Was that something moving at the edge of your vision? you look toward a swaying bush, but it's hard to spot any creatures just yet.
Wraeven, you see the other two about 30 ft in front of your now, and the Firbolg fighter and Ayra's song present behind you. You're up.
Wraeven keeps the 30' buffer between them and scans the area for any of the creatures that they are chasing as he continues moving. Perception: 21
He is ready to fire eldritch blast if he sees a creature to shoot, he also has in mind that blade ward may be necessary if he is surprised by something up close.
attack: 12
damage: 2
How does one utilize inspiration dice? bardic inspiration? Can it be used for damage? or attack?
As Wraeven's eyes scan the ground and the dim horizon of Alesandair's light to the East, he sees the fresh blood from a wounded creature and follows it to the edge of bush and tree trunk about 70 feet forward. A branch moves ever so slightly and Wraeven sees a small patch of fur showing ever so slightly between the leaves of the bush, even in the low light. As you release your energy, the sound is noticeable as the molecular essence of the air pops and crackles with the chemical reaction causing a force to shoot past your two new companions toward the bush, the creature manages to jump a little further behind the trunk barely dodging the energy, but then takes off running, limping heavily, into the darkness further to the east. Unfortunately, Alesandair and Silv'ar see the creature when it jumps, but they lose it into the darkness of the forest. All of you know it can't have moved far.
Mobya, you hear a crackling sound come from the direction your companions were traveling, but it is faint and mostly drown out by the small campfire which has begun to burn low. One of the babies seems to be moving, causing the basket to shake and bump a bit. Lil's floating torch continues to do it's revolution around the campground, giving you all a good view of your perimeter into the forest. Lil, nodding toward the torch, "Not to make light of the situation, but...." To which the Merchant responds with a hearty bit of laughter in spite of himself, relaxing some of the tension of the situation.
Mobya, what are you doing back by the wagons?
Mechanics of Bardic Inspiration...
When a creature gains one Bardic Inspiration die, it is a d6 when the Bard is at level 1.
Once within the next 10 minutes, the creature can roll the die and add the number rolled to one ability check, attack roll, or saving throw it makes. The creature can wait until after it rolls the d20 before deciding to use the Bardic Inspiration die, but must decide before the DM says whether the roll succeeds or fails. Once the Bardic Inspiration die is rolled, it is lost. A creature can have only one Bardic Inspiration die at a time.
To add this to an official roll in this forum, you can use the die roller once for the d20 with your normal bonus, then go back into the die roller to set up the d6 separately.
Mobya notices the basket moving and opens it up to check it out, and immediately takes in the pungent smell coming from inside “oh goodnes, what a mess” as she looks at the younglings’s smeared faces looking up at her. She speed walks to the area close to the dwindling fire and grabs the blanket from where they had been resting and places it right by the wagon. One by one she puts the three babies on it and starts cleaning them up. As she cleans them, she thinks to herself how the younglings have absolutely no idea of the perils they are presently facing and how bad a timing this is to be needing a cleaning. But alas, babies are exactly that, unaware and innocent.
“Does anyone have anything the babies could eat handy?” She asks Morn, Lil, and the Merchant (whom she had initially been suspicious of, but giving the current circumstances, she has no other choice but to trust).
"Mubyeh, tem peybees cain hat meh oter bohtl uf deht mehlk." nodding his head toward the front of the wagon, and upon hearing the crackle in the woods, he will point his crossbow in the direction of the sound, readying himself for another.
The little Orc baby has a single tusk on the left that gets caught on the cloth you are cleaning her with.

Agozur, as your fingers position the iron-tipped wood against the woven threads of your bowstring, you scan the edge of light with little to aid your vision even trying to follow the line of Wraeven's blast, who stands next to you now. But you're ready and waiting, searching the vanishing edge of torchlight for your destiny as the golden-haired elf charges past you to group with the halfling and cleric.

That's cool. Wraeven sniffs, she never sang Simon and G for me..
[Oh there's plenty more S&G where that came from :)]

Since you're actively scanning, make a perception check. Also what weapon are you wielding?

[DM, I've lost track of how far Ayra and Ag are from the baddies and from Wraeven, Sil and Al. Can you give an update please? Thx!]
Without breaking stride or eye contact with the torch ahead "Hmmm you play a fine tune like Lil, it seems he was a little flustered by you earlier."
