"I will pay for a room as well. But, before that, I need a stiff drink. Something that will make me forget what happened today." Petros heads over and takes a seat at the bar and waits for the innkeeper. As he waits, he pulls out his lute and begins to work out a simple tune. He stops and looks at Pops "Help me out, what rhymes with...'and then the wolf bit the old man's arse..'?" Petros will stay for one drink before heading to his room for the night.
The innkeeper hand you a tagged key. "You'll have room 7. Lucky for you I'm sure. The former guest, not so much." He draws an ale with a light green tint. "If you need a stiff drink, nothing better than this. Goblin piss I call it."
Brats will look toward Sven before he leaves and laughs. "Don't worry, you'll hear me scream if something bad happens!" He proceeds to hop on the back of the cart and takes a seat, keeping an eye out for what may be around.
You can also take the benefits of a long rest while watching the cart. The night comes and goes. A few animals scurry by and a few people. but nothing dangerous.
“Rest well. I will assist Brats in watching the cart.” Ny follows brats outside to the cart and climbs up to the front. “I am going to meditate Brats. You should try and get some rest after all you have been through today.”

Brats looks toward Ny, smiles then nods. "It has been a trying day. I'm going to rest my eyes for a moment." He closes his eyes and before he knows it, it's the next day.
Petros wakes up and washes before heading back down to the bar. He sits at the bar and orders breakfast. He will wait for the rest of his group to join. As he waits he attempts to earn himself a free breakfast by telling the innkeeper everything that happened on his trip to town. [skill]Performance[\skill]:10
"Innkeep, you should have been there my friend. This HUGE beast, I believe he said his name was Klarg, charged our group. However, upon seeing me with my lute and rapier, he tucked his tail between his legs and ran out of that cave as fast as he could! He was terrified! I could have easily ended that poor creatures life right then. But, you know I just couldn't do it. I felt bad for him. Something told me to be merciful at that moment. That's just who I am...humble too..."
Night comes and goes without incident. The sun rises as it always does, light cuts into the rooms between the windows and curtains. Everyone gets their long rest benefits.

The man at the bar this morning is a different man from the night prior. The proprietor is a short, friendly young human male. "Morning good sir. I am Toblen Stonehill, proprietor of the inn. You must have gotten in late last night." Tolben listens to your story, and though he's heard plenty of tall tales, he's always amused by the tales of bards. He slides you a couple of free drink tokens.
The man nods to a serving maid who is passing out breakfast stew to customers. "That's my wife, Trilena and my son, Pip." He motions to a boy playing in the corner of the inn with wooden blocks. "I came with my family to Phandalin to prospect but soon realized that I knew a lot more about running an inn than he did about mining. The new town offered a good opportunity to become established."
"Mr. Stonehill, I travel as part of a group that has been hired to make a delivery and I wonder if you might be able to help me out. We are looking for Gundren Rockseeker. We have a cart full of supplies ready to be delivered to him. Have you seen him or his guard Sildar?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Pops
Pops enters quietly and stiffly, his hair standing up on one side from where it had stuck to the pillow. He looks like he could use a bath.
As the others chat, he paces and observes. Anything unusual about this family or this inn, anything that doesn't add up with Toblen's story? Investigation: 15
Any other guests about? (Who's getting stew?) Anything of note visible on the street outside?
Sighing, he finally settles at the bar and politely motions to Trilena for some breakfast stew.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Sven
Sven wakes up after Pops and comes down to the bar. "I need something for breakfast and something to wash it down with, this headache is killing me. I'm not sure whether getting maced to the head hurt more or hitting the ground twice did the trick." Sven looks around the Inn and tries to listen to any of the Patrons to see if he can hear anything.
As the sun rises brats is going to hop off the cart, he's going to stretch a bit as the car was uncomfy then work his way into the inn. He's going to find his companions and join them mid conversation.
As the light starts to shine and the town begins to wake and move Ny stretches and takes a moment to reflect on the visions that came to her during meditation. “Guide me Goddess, I do not believe we are done here.” She drops down from the cart and wanders into the inn hopping to find something to eat. “Good morning Petros, Pops, Brats” (Ny smiles softly to brats) “How is everyone feeling this morning?”

"No, no one by that name has checked in here. And this here is about the only inn around. So unless they were camping out of town somewhere, I wouldn't have the slightest idea. Harbin, I mean Townmaster Wester may know something about your friends."
Pops enters quietly and stiffly, his hair standing up on one side from where it had stuck to the pillow. He looks like he could use a bath.

Any other guests about? (Who's getting stew?) Anything of note visible on the street outside?
Sighing, he finally settles at the bar and politely motions to Trilena for some breakfast stew.
That would be more of an insight roll. You can tell Tolben is sincere. He seems like a hard worker trying to provide to his family.
There is an old farmer and miner sitting at a table together. They seem like old friends. There is another younger female at a table and a barmaid next to her. It appears they're gossiping about the town. The streets are now filled with the coming and going of folks. Nothing in particular out of the ordinary.
Trilena brings over a hot stew made of potatoes and meat.
I'm assuming at this point, everyone is seated together with Pops. Trilena speaks loud enough for everyone to hear what she says.
"You all are new here aren't ya? If I can make a suggestion, stay away from the Redbrands. They're the local hoodlums in the town. Thel Dendrar, a local woodcarver, stood up to the Redbrands a tenday ago when they came by his shop and leered at his wife. The ruffians murdered him. Several townsfolk saw it happen. The Redbrands grabbed his body, and now his wife, daughter, and son have gone missing too."
A tenday is a weeks time in Fuerun, consisting of ten days.
Pops finishes the last of his stew and stands up. He licks his hand and tries to smooth down his standing hair, only partly successfully. He pays his bill and leaves a relatively generous tip.
Mustering his humblest stance and doing his best pathetic-harmless-old-man routine (mostly true) he shuffles up to the farmer and miner. Hands folded in front of him, he quietly addresses them (mostly the miner):
"Excuse me, gentlemen. I have just arrived in town. I am looking for Gundren Rockseeker, a dwarven miner from Neverwinter, or his companion, Sildar. Have you happened to have encountered them? He was to employ me for a job."
Should they seem amenable to friendly conversation, Pops also asks, in an even quieter voice:
"What do you know about these Redbrands? I understand they are responsible for some difficulties in town?"

"They're the local ruffians. Same as about every town. Hired by the townmaster after a few goblin raids. They offer protection in exchange for money from the local merchants. As far as my mining operations, they take nothing from me and I don't brush elbows with them. I'm Lanar," he holds out a hand to shake yours. His hands are rough and no doubt he's been working hard most of his life. "This here is Narth." He motions to his farmer friend. "We've known each other from quite some time now." Narth just nods his head in agreement.
"You seem new in town. If you're looking for Orc raiders have been seen on the east end of Triboar Trail. Causing all sorts of problems. The townmaster is looking for someone to run them off."
Sven listens to Trilena intently and then says "Thank you for the warning, it is good to know who to watch out for. That's terrible news about Thel Dendrar. And his wife and children too potentially? Is nothing sacred? Has anyone ever stood up to the Redbrands?" Sven pays for his meal after finishing it and washing it down with the last of his drink. "We should be going shortly, we still need to get the wagon over to... Barthren's was it? To offload the supplies Gundren had us guarding. Trilena dear, have you heard anything about the operation Gundren was setting up here? Or mayhaps know who we should talk to about it?"

Trilena tells you that no one really has stood up to them and Thel was the first she knew of to do so. She gets a grim look on her face. "The real issue is they are employed by the townmaster to quell the local goblin raiders that have been a thorn in the town's side for a few years. The raids have mostly stopped, but the Redbrands still continue to collect their protection money." Trilena does not know Gundren, but suggests that if the supplies were for Barthen, he may know more about Gundren. "Barthen's place is to the north, you had to have passed the shop coming into town."
Petros pays for his meal and thanks the innkeeper for his hospitality. He joins the group. "It appears as if we have a couple of leads. I am interested in what Townmaster Wester has to say so I think I will seek him out. Would anyone care to join me?"
Petros prepares to leave the bar in search of Wester.
The innkeeper tosses you a key with a tag on it. Room 4. The innkeeper points to the rooms on the mezzanine.
The innkeeper hand you a tagged key. "You'll have room 7. Lucky for you I'm sure. The former guest, not so much." He draws an ale with a light green tint. "If you need a stiff drink, nothing better than this. Goblin piss I call it."
