Keyleth turns, slightly startled when Artus speaks, as if she'd forgotten he was there. "Oh, yes. Good idea. Alright, why don't we head north then?"
OoC: It's been so long in real life time --- I can't remember if we've already hit up the points of interest along the eastern side of the main road (4, 10 and 12, I guess?). If so, then are 19 and 20 the only numbered locations we haven't been to (other than 6)?
After a few minutes of discussion you realize that none of you have a grappling hook that would allow you to secure a rope across the chasm and get the the shrine on the island. Having to wait till the next day to continue you decide to continue exploring further north and east. A couple blocks up the way you find another shrine (19).
A pair of needlelike columns mark the entrance to a walled ruin. In the courtyard beyond, banyan roots envelop a squat building. The stone doors that seal the entrance are carved with images of snarling bears with long, sharp claws.
Keyleth approaches the doors and, sliding her goggles over her eyes, looks at them more closely, looking for any possible inscriptions of the sort they've seen on other shrines. (And while she's at it, looking for traps). If she finds nothing she will try to open the doors (asking for help if they're too heavy).
Moving in closer Keyleth finds no traps. A plaque above the shrine’s entrance bears the following message in Old Omuan: “Obo’laka teaches us to tread warily and stay in the light.” which Dr A read easily. The doors are slightly ajar and have rusty hinges that squeal loudly when the doors are opened. Keyleth spots a secret door just inside the entrance in the wall to the west.
Having found the secret door, Keyleth inspects it but is unable to find a way to open it from this side.
To the right the walls of this dark corridor are covered with painted reliefs showing Omuan people hunting, harvesting fruit, planting crops, crafting weapons, feasting, fighting, weaving, and skinning animals. Eight empty torch brackets protrude from the walls under the reliefs.
At the end of hallway is a door that opens into another room (top right). A glorious sun is carved on the ceiling, directly above a pool of still water. The ceiling reflected in the pool doesn’t show a sun carving, but rather a moon carving.
"Tread warily and stay in the light," Keyleth mutters to herself as she examines the area. "I don't know if it's relevant but I suppose it can't hurt to put some torches in these brackets," she says. "Make it a little easier to stay in the light. Anybody got any? I'm afraid I dumped mine in Port Nyanzaru to lighten my load."
"This reflection is truly strange," she says, alternating her gaze between the water and the ceiling. "How can it be... different?"
Once somebody responds to her suggestion to put some torches in the brackets, unless something happens or it reveals something else, she pokes at the water with a dagger, watching for any changes in the reflection. Then, again barring anything particularly interesting happening as a result of that, she then looks around for a small rock or loose bit of stone (or, failing that, grabs a handful of ball bearings), and drops it in the water.
Ransyl begins to rummage through his pack, “I’ve got torches.” He sets aside 8, begins lighting them and hands them to the others to place in the hallway.
Ransyl places the torches into each of the spaces but nothing special happens.
Keyleth finds that the water's reflection does not change when she touches it with the dagger. When she drops a small rock in it she sees that it drops to the bottom and then disappears!

"Huh," she says, watching the rock fall to the bottom of the pool. "To be honest, I'm not sure if I'm more surprised that it disappeared or if I would have been more surprised if it didn't."
"Well, I don't see any other passages (just for good measure, secret door check: 28), so, uh, I guess I'm going in..."
"I suppose I should have a rope around me, just in case. Kirinar, I have a feeling you've thought about tying me up... now's your chance," she says with a playful half-smile. Once the rope is secure, she checks that her daggers are fastened securely to her belt, climbs up to sit on the edge of the pool, dangling her legs in, and starts counting to three... before taking a deep breath and dropping down into the pool.
"Ahbut that's better"Dr says as Ransyl lights the torches "now I can see!" As Keyleth leaps into the water with a splash he continues "ahbut not sure I'd count that as treading lightly but we will now just have to wait and see what happens next!"
Dropping into the pool Keyleth surfaces in another room.
A full moon is carved on the ceiling here, directly above the pool. The walls are decorated with reliefs of the Omuan people carrying out daily chores.
The ceiling reflected in the pool doesn’t show a moon carving, but rather a sun carving.
Kirinar blushes and fumbles a bit as he ties the rope around Keyleth, desperately trying not to look at anything in particular...however, he knows that her life may very well depend on the tightness of the knot, so he shakes his head and concentrates on the bowline knot. When everyone is satisfied, he nods to the elf. Watching her slip into the water and then disappear makes the young human want to yank on the rope and try to drag her back to safety, but she hadn't given the danger signal, and the rope still had tension on it, so he figured she was still on the other end and not swallowed like some giant fishing lure by an unseen monster...

Before going through the door, Keyleth gives the rope the prearranged two tugs signaling, "I'm okay", then gives this room the standard once-over, checking the walls and floor for hidden mechanisms, door, inscriptions, etc.
As Keyleth press the key a secret door that she missed earlier opens on the south wall. If she looks through it she sees that this dark passage is choked with dust and webs. It’s clear that no one has been through here in years.
A moment later a sputtering and wet Ransyl emerges from the pool.
Keyleth and Ransyl are in 19D, the rest are in 19C

DM - Stopping a god in his tracks
Dropping into the pool Keyleth surfaces in another room.
A full moon is carved on the ceiling here, directly above the pool. The walls are decorated with reliefs of the Omuan people carrying out daily chores.
The ceiling reflected in the pool doesn’t show a moon carving, but rather a sun carving.
There is a door in the east wall.
Love God. Love Others. Any Questions?
Before going through the door, Keyleth gives the rope the prearranged two tugs signaling, "I'm okay", then gives this room the standard once-over, checking the walls and floor for hidden mechanisms, door, inscriptions, etc.

Keyleth studies the wall reliefs and notices that one of the figures on the wall is crafting a key.
She examines the key figure more closely, running a hand over it. Does it move, or appear to be grabbable?

As Keyleth's hand brushes over the key she can tell that it would depress if she pushes on it.
"Well this looks depressing," she says, then after a moment decides it's a good thing nobody else is there to have heard that. She pushes on the key.

“Well, I don’t like leaving her alone like that.” And the dwarf leaps into the pool, holding his legs together making a gigantic splash.
As Keyleth press the key a secret door that she missed earlier opens on the south wall. If she looks through it she sees that this dark passage is choked with dust and webs. It’s clear that no one has been through here in years.
