Ah tactical maps are something I’ve only just started using, 😂 admittedly I thought the enemy was coming from either end of the road until I saw the map.
Hey for the players brand new to dnd, I thought I list some tips for battle rounds. Our fabulous dm gave me permission.
- each round is 6 seconds. That means 10 rounds = 1 min. This is helpful to know for spellcasters especially.
- usually during your round of combat, you get a bonus action, a movement, and an action.
1. Bonus action: some abilities specify it is a bonus action. Also dropping items or a few words maybe a bonus. Ask the dm if you are unsure.
2. Movement: you can move up to your speed. For example a human has a speed of 30 ft. Each square on a battle map is worth 5 ft, so a human can move 6 squares on his turn. (Some maps may have a different scale though.) You can break your movement up. For example, you can move 10 feet toward a target, shoot an arrow, then move up to your speed in a different direction. Beware, if you are within melee range of an enemy, you will get an attack of opportunity if you move away. You can also dash and move twice your speed, however you forfeit any other action.
3. Action- this is your attack or spell casting usually. However, other things could take up a whole action. For example, climbing all the way up to sit on the elephant’s back would probably take a whole action, so one couldn’t attack on the same turn.
Oh - do I need to make a death saving throw this turn or next?

Bwhahaha! Maybe we will all wake up from a nightmare the night before the trip.

Shouldn't be too bad. Umbutu will only miss one turn. :)

Hey kikdij, Is there any chance I could swap out my cantrips? I just realized i made very bad choices, and ivolyn also has both of them.
Thanks!
If lorskan goes to knock out this goblin close to me should I roll unarmed combat?
One is 10 feet from me - and the other? And where is the other goblin? I’ll post soon as I know- been a crazy morning.
