Ok, I'll roll some dice for Fope, who has asked me to do so. I have a few minutes here.
1. Fope wins initiative.
2. Fope draws his blade, ready to strike, but would rather not: "I just want to talk!" He holds his action - an attack - depending on whether the stranger comes to him aggressively.
3. The stranger - not quite human, something more gaunt than that - does come aggressively. Fope attacks first. He hits, with an 11! And does 9 damage!
4. The creature responds with a mighty roundhouse punch, but Fope ducks out of the way.
5. Fope swings, and hits, again! Another 9 damage!
6. The creature, frustrated and severely wounded, swings again. Critical hit!!! Fope takes 7 points of damage, and is down to 12 hit points!
7. Fope weighs the odds. Try to slip away, and run in the darkness, or try to fell this beast, that he has hit without much effort. Hmm. Running in the fog seems like it might be tricky. Fope swings again: 18! Another hit! And he kills it.
Fope, you ran circles around this creature, but one lucky shot and it took away over a third of your hit points. What do you do?
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Føpé grips the colorful handle of his scimitar, and draws it from the sheath on his pack. Realizing that this creature, like the haggard man monster, like his brother, would likely respond only to the well placed edge of a sword, he strikes: 24
1. Fope swings at the creature, as she - a human teenager, but clearly no longer quite human - turns to face him. He hits, with an 18! He does 6 damage.
2. She retaliates, trying to slam him with both fists at once. And a hit! She does 3 damage. Fope tries to think of a good reason why he did not choose to rest after the last battle, but he can't think of one. Fope is down to 9 out of 19 hit points.
3. Fope uses his bonus action to get his second wind, and recovers 9 hit points. Back to 18! He strikes at the creature, and hits her with a 13. He rolls max damage, for 11! His foe is barely standing.
4. There was a second one, though! Another adult human male figure comes shambling out of the brush, swinging a meaty fist. It misses! And the first one misses as well!
5. Fope swings again at the first figure, the girl. He hits, with a 24! She falls beneath his scimitar.
6. A *third* creature emerges from the woods! They're everywhere! This one is an adult human female. The male figure swings first, and misses. The female misses as well. They're terrible.
7. Fope swings now at the newcomer, and hits, dealing 8 points of damage.
8. Both respond. The male nearly hits, but does not; the female is not close. Fope grows (with good reason) concerned at the noise being made here.
9. Fope swings again at the female figure. He hits again, dealing 9 points of damage. She's not doing well. These guys are going down without much trouble, but there are so many of them!
10. The female figure retaliates, and hits with 4 points of damage. Back down to 14 HP. The male figure misses.
11. Fope hits the female figure, destroying her.
12. The male figure misses.
13. Fope hits the male figure, slashing with his scimitar with a 24 and 7 points of damage.
14. The figure misses Fope.
15. Fope dishes out 9 points of damage to the male figure. Now it's hurt.
16. The figure misses Fope with its swing, but a second female figure has now emerged from the high ground, apparently attracted by the noise. It hits, delivering a crushing blow: 7 points of damage! Fope is down to 7 hit points.
17. Fope, knowing he can't afford to take another shot like that one, tries desperately to take out the male figure. And he hits, with a 12! With a whopping 10 damage, he finishes off the male figure.
18. The female figure appears not to care about her fallen comrade, but she swings at Fope. She barely misses, with a blow that might have been fatal!
19. Fope, hoping this is the last one, just *barely* lands a blow that nevertheless does max damage: 11 hit points' worth!
20. The female figure retaliates, with another miss.
21. Fope strikes her again, dealing 7 more damage. She is barely standing. One more blow should do it!
22. But with another lucky strike, the creature hits Fope, dealing 4 points of damage! He only has 3 left!
23. Fope, staggered, delivers one more massive blow, swinging downward and splitting the final creature down the middle.
Fope kneels in the dirt and the gore, thankful to have survived.
Føpé grins. During the combat he imagined his enemies with a distorted Gågor face, the face of dead Gågor somehow walking. He shivers, then spits on nearest body. For all the evil in this place, he's learning how to fence. With that thought, Føpé wacks his sword into the corpse at his feat. Before today, he'd never killed anything. A wave of nausea, somehow coupled with joy, flows from his wounds and the site of the crumpled bodies before him.
He'll search for a hiding spot within site of road to take a rest.
On the road again, fully loaded. The wolves grow louder.
Fope has occasional close encounters with these gaunt creatures of the fog as he makes his way down. He's successful and ducking and hiding from several, but he slips on an unexpected root and practically stumbles into one. Roll for initiative again!
Overnight Tulip takes a bit of time to go mousing. It makes her happy.
Ok. I’ll get to Madam Eva and to Fope in a few hours.
Puddin, level up when you get a chance.
Ok, I'll roll some dice for Fope, who has asked me to do so. I have a few minutes here.

Woot!
My money is still on the monkey did you see the second file I posted?
Føpé kicks the body a few times, then searches it, then continues along the path.
There is nothing on the body. The threadbare peasant's clothing it was wearing, and nothing else.
Fope creeps along for another hour and a half without incident. The cries of wolves are getting louder, though they are not yet close.
Fope discovers, too late, that what he thought was a bush was actually a small one of these creatures he encountered earlier. Roll for initiative.
Ok, I rolled for Fope. I want this combat to move.
Fope wins initiative. I'll give you about half an hour, Dov, at least, and then I'll roll dice for both of us.
Present!

He'll search for a hiding spot within site of road to take a rest.
Not shore which of the following rolls I need.
Survival: 11
Stealth: 12
The Survival roll is probably the better bet for finding a good hiding place and sheltering where you can rest.
Fope does successfully complete a short rest. With his Second Wind restored, and some hit points back, he is ready to begin the descent again.
Excellent. Onward!
Hit point recovery from rest, first die:12
Hit point recovery from rest, first die:9
Second die:10
Back up to max!
On the road again, fully loaded. The wolves grow louder.

Fog creatures' initiative: 10.
init: 7
Go!
