Let’s pause before the spell. I am treating this roll as a “grapple” attempt, which means you will be contesting this roll against Fope's. Your roll was bad but his might be as well.
Also, it’s your action, so let’s also wait and see what Barnaby does before we move on to your next thing.
Barnaby will climb on a chair next to Kif and start repeatedly slapping him in the face in an attempt to rouse him from whatever trance he has succumbed to.
Blue:Well I am not sure what is compelling them to do this. Im well aware that the spell may not be for whatever has a hold on them but Puddin is in the moment and struggling to find something that can stop it.
Unless you're trying to tell me that it won't work 😋
Barnaby will use minor illusion to make a large plate of bacon appear in front of Kif to, at least momentarily, distract him from the devil food. He will then proceed to start wildly shoving the other food out of Kif's reach, some of it gets knocked over, some knocked to the floor.
The Protection grants several benefits. Creatures of those types have disadvantage on Attack rolls against the target. The target also can’t be Charmed, Frightened, or possessed by them. If the target is already charmed, frightened, or possessed by such a creature, the target has advantage on any new saving throw against the relevant effect.
Now, I won't tell you that you *can't* cast it. But I will say that it may not look to Puddin like any qualifying critters are attacking Fope, or that he is "charmed, frightened, or possessed" by such a creature. And Puddin would know how her own spell works, so I'm going to give you a chance to do something different, if you want.
I hear ya -- when I read about the spell, I was figuring that Puddin may have thought her fellow travelers were possessed or charmed to eat the food. I got the sense that it only wasn't that they couldn't see the rotten food, but also that they were overcome with an uncontrollable desire to eat. So I see where you're going with this, but that was my reasoning. I'll hold off from casting the spell then.
To try to grapple (which is a type of attack), make an Athletics check. The target of a grapple attempt attempts to elude the grapple with either an Acrobatics or Athletics check, whichever the target chooses. If the grappler gets the same number or higher than the grapplee, then the target is "restrained." Which, I will tell you, in this situation will mean that he would stop eating the befouled food.
Oh under Shar's misery, I am going to be sick...KIF, FOPE!!! STOP EATING!!!
Puddin runs to Fope (knowing she has no strength to take on Kif) and attempts to shake him from the table.
FOPE, PLEASE STOP!!!
Strength 4
Growing desperate,Puddin touches Fope.

Stop it. Stop it. Stop it. Stop it...
Ok. Slaps alone do not seem to have any effect. I took the liberty of rolling for Fope, who resisted the grapple.
Both continue to stuff themselves. Ireena stands in the doorway, riveted in disgust.
Puddin, before you cast that spell, make sure you know what it does. Is that what you want?

no no no no no no no no no no NO NO!!!
I’ll give Kif a fresh wisdom save for the combined moving the food and casting illusion.
Puddin, here is the description of the spell:
Protection from Evil and Good
The Protection grants several benefits. Creatures of those types have disadvantage on Attack rolls against the target. The target also can’t be Charmed, Frightened, or possessed by them. If the target is already charmed, frightened, or possessed by such a creature, the target has advantage on any new saving throw against the relevant effect.

That's fine. You could do something else, including just trying to grapple him again. You might be little, but he's even littler.
14 Wisdom save
this game is rigged I tell ya
Oof.
Kif climbs up onto the table, throws the lid of the fish platter halfway across the room, and puts both his hands in.
Ireena rushes in and tries to grab him by the foot to pull him back, but is unsuccessful.
Wow. That was an accidental double post, so I deleted it. Next time I'll just edit it away, so it doesn't look so exciting.
