Ok. Puddin, now that I'm home I see that you rolled the wrong die to get that 8. Roll the 20-sider, and add your DEX modifier and your proficiency (+2), because you're proficient with the crossbow. That'll check to see if you hit (hint: you need an 18). If you do, then you can do that 8 damage.
While Puddin rolls to hit for her last turn, everybody but Fope (and Kif, who already went) can now go. Puddin, after you figure out if you hit *last* turn, you can go again. :)
The thing looks like it's barely standing now. One or two more shots should bring it down.
That’s why one should never keep suits of armor about the house. They have such a pesky habit of animating themselves.
Barnaby will nod at Fope’s reminder to search the room and begin sliding his hands over the wood paneling, examining for signs of hidden hinges or panels.
Investigation: 23 or subtract 2 for perception.
Edit: Wrong numbers. Subtract two for investigation or four for perception.
Ok. While Barnaby searches, Fope (per Dov's instructions) rests for a moment and contemplates his life choices. He gets a Second Wind, recovering 10 hit points.
Your run your fingers along the walls, looking for grooves or other irregularities. Sure enough, you find one! To your south you discover a panel that, when pressed, slides open. Behind it is a narrow, steep flight of stairs heading up to an attic.
OK, just checking, I like a little flavor, as long as we understand that can be popped in the middle of combat if necessary, I'm just learning these fighter rules and really like what I see
Dude's, over here looks like more stairs. I'd be happy clearing this floor before we head up, but cool!

Puddin holds back for a moment, reverently patting her crossbow, like an old friend cat. She shakes her head, Well, it's good to know that I still have these old skills still within me, even as I continue to go deeper in my worship for Shar. She suddenly begins to stare mournfully into space.
As soon as Kif speaks about the stairs, she snaps out of it and sees the stairs appear as the dust settles. Let's continue to press forward, team, as the night is quickly taking over this house.
Yes evil is setting in on this place like the sun setting on the cursed woods outside. I like the metaphor Puddin.
Kif if you say clear the floor then I will follow you. You seem to have a good sense for strategy. I just need one moment. Barnaby takes a pull from his flask. Ready. Now lead the way.
OK, let's check out the door to the south, everyone ready
Kif stands at the door a moment, looking closely at it to make sure there aren't any trappy traps before opening
6 perception (-3 if you want investigation)
With that roll, you detect no traps and hear no sounds from within. ;)
You open the door to reveal a nicely appointed bedroom. There are two doors to your right and the bedroom beyond, to your left. Inside the bedroom you see a young woman - or the figure of a young woman - in an elegant nurse's cloak and dress. Her back is to you, and her hood is up. You may place yourselves in the room if you want. Roll stealth if you intend to be stealthy about it.
The room is beautifully decorated with ornate wooden furniture and a fine fabrics on the bed. The room lacks the bourgeouis feel of the stodgy library and dining room, though, and it is clearly not a child's room; you would guess that this is another servant's room.
Feather fall cast.

Ok, here it goes.

Ok. Let’s do a little time warp, then. Puddin puts a crossbow bolt deep in its chest, and Kif rips it in half!
Good job, everybody! Drinks on the house. You have defeated my Animated Armor trap.
Thanks for helping me open that jar of pickles, Puddin'
Fope rejoins you on the balcony. He reminds everybody that he wanted to search this room carefully and like for secret doors.
I’ll be controlling him through Monday. I’m glad he didn’t die after he got thrown over the railing.
Fope has taken 12 points of damage, for those keeping score at home. He is quite fortunate Barnaby was ready with that Feather Fall spell.

You don't need a rest to use second wind, you can use it anytime as a bonus, and it recharges with a rest
Percepting around the room to see what I can see 6
I know. That was a flavor rest. :)

It’s late morning. Maybe lunchtime.

Puddin will indeed use her stealth to sneak in, towards the two doors on the right.
