"How much reason do savages need to attack something? Though I suppose it is a little odd that they'd be attacking now after so many years of relative peace. [OOC] For the sake of expediency, the DM says that both Thain and Xavier agree to travel with you all to the nearby town of Ambersilt. At that point, most of you notice that Skerckrit is already on the wagon's bench, using his odd staff/sling to fling stones at a nearby tree.
"Sounds good to me. This old back of mine could use a good night's sleep in a nice inn, not to mention a fresh cooked hot meal... Mmm, maybe some lamb and peas. Oh yes, definitely. And with some mint gravy... Mmm."
'After a short wait, Briston emerges from the tower, climbs up next to Sterckrit and with a nod to you all, starts the journey to the town of Ambersilt.'

'The human sergeant is a little hesitant to converse at first, seeing as he is driving the wagon, as well as keeping a wary eye on the small rough road and the thick brush and woods to either side. He periodically checks the heavy crossbow that sits locked and loaded on the driver's seat between himself and Skerckrit. The odd halfling for the most part seems content to whistle and hum cheerfully to himself as he uses some kind of invisible magic force to pluck berries from passing bushes and then throw them into his own open mouth. He doesn't miss a single catch and the sound of his enthusiastic chewing follows you on your journey into Ambersilt.
After about an hour or so of the journey, passing a couple of outlying logging cabins with burly men at work carting, shaving and sawing timbre, a small traders hut with 3 donkeys and riding horse tethered out front and a lone, seemingly abandoned, farmstead, the sergeant seems to relax a little. He reaches down and offers his hand, saying,'
"Good to know ye, Xavier. His sorry corpse isn't in the back of this wagon with his kin, so I expect that you had no luck finding the one who fled? So be it... we'll be more ready for 'em next time, should he return looking for trouble with others of his kind."

Thain will follow along with introduction and then proceed to do the same with the rest of the group then stay rearguard until needed.
'Briston nods at Thain, his eyes flickering over the blue hair and green skin, before reaching out to clasp hands,'
"Briston's the name. Thain, is it? Pleasure's mine. Ye weren't prepared for how suddenly the attack came, ya say? Can't say that I've ever been the target of a gradual attack. Ha! Maybe we should ask them orcs to send us a letter first afore the next attack, hey! Bwahahaha!!!"
