I wonder if everyone's first mission is as much of a mess as this, Nat wonders idly. He looks at the others. You're right, of course. Let's go find Gimble. I've no magic to help, though - didn't rest long enough. Can still fight though.
Nat looks at Retioc. You mean, in a general karma 'what goes around comes around' kind of way? Or you think something came out of that tomb, followed us, and took Gimble? He follows along, as the party continues towards the mountain after the creature who made these footprints.
"In the stories of my people disturbing the dead and taking their things lead to both; misfortune and monstrous pursuers." Alici says matter of factly, continuing to follow the footprints carefully. "I didn't want to question a commanding officer, but it felt wrong, and was clearly dangerous."
"Yes to the first, maybe to the second," the half-orc replies to Nat. "It sounded like something was trying to make it's way out of that pit when we were trying to get away from those other bandits."
"He may be getting what he deserve, but what I would like is for us to find him and find out what the hell is going on - let's keep after him."Duc strides on, determined to make up some ground on their quarry.

Vhon - Level 2 Warlock - What shall become of the Drunken Sailor?
Trekking back towards the looming mountain dawn crests over the landscape ahead and the sun begins to rise overhead. It's midafternoon before the party stops again. The road is disappearing into the sand and the mountain is less of undefined shape more of the rocky surface is visible.

Sometimes a Nat 1 tells a better story than a Nat 20 ever could.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Nat checks his rations and the rest of his pack, and looks around. We carry on, right? Any idea if we're gaining or losing ground? He takes a moment to inspect the tracks: Survival10
I guess we carry on at normal speed until nightfall...
(OOC: I actually didn't notice that. I'll have to go back to see where that was pointed out. But it plays into his superstition as well as can be written off as the poison playing with his senses. However, if anyone wants to correct his perception...)
"The mountain is coming into better view. We should be fortunate that it isn't moving on us... We should hurry before we lose all trace of him."
Nat darts out and covers the ten feet to where Gimble lies. No good options,he says grimly. He peers briefly over the pit if time allows, and shouts down to whatever is coming up. Hey, hurry up. He then grabs one vial and throws it at the Assassin in H6.
OOC: Ok to be fair y'all need to roll for the vials. I let Retiog slide but treat them as improvised weapons or identify them because you're just hoping something will work instead of negation is obviously not working or reviving your leader. Duc ran and didn't get shot at. They attacked y'all because Retiog attacked again.
It's now twilight when the part reaches the mountain. The tracks have long since been swallowed by the sands but you all assumed this is where Gimble was brought. The mountain is looming and purple as it shadows the setting sun behind it as the party faces the ruined doorway of the temple which is seemingly impassable.

"I agree, we have come this far, we can go a little farther, once the sun is up things will be easier anyway." Duc says in agreement with Alici.

(So a full long rest then?)
(OOC: Are the new footprints still heading back to the mountain?)
"This is what we get for stealing from the dead," Retiog says as he looks over the bloody mess. "At least we have a clear trail to follow."
(Level 2 Rogue... Welcome to cunning action. Whee.)
OOC: Yes and LEVEL UP!!!
The footprints are going towards the mountain along with the paw prints!

Nat continues to see the tracks even though the shifting sands have started to erase them heading towards the mountain.

Nat hunts for possible points of entry to and exit from the temple, taking guidance from Alici in focusing on likely spots. Investigation 21
I don't see anything. Should we rest, maybe try again in the daylight?
