“What happened here to Feytock is none of our faults. You saw how he spoke. How he changed. He didn’t just believe it was foretold he would die. He believed it was his destiny. There was no stopping him. If it wasn’t now it’d be later. He did what he thought was best. To buy us time. To save us. So we could save Nev and Gen. sure we could have sent him with the cart. Maybe we could have teleported with the helm. But one day he was going to give his life for this mission and I am glad it wasn’t with us standing in the way of what he thought and maybe was his destiny. So instead of feeling sorry for ourselves, we will be proud. Feytock a fierce warrior, a protector, a hero, our friend has fallen today. And he will be remembered that way.”
Dog nods as Gash finishes the sermon. He looks between red and green.
"So do we want to go see more? From what I remember, the sequence is red to blue, blue to orange, orange to red, and then green to yellow, yellow to pink, and pink to green. The orange and pink are connected. Green's near the pool, blue's near the locked door with the weird walls around it. Where to now? Our choices are red to blue, or green to yellow. Tock, did you explore more of blue away from that pool? Anything interesting?"
"From what I remember about Minotaurs... they're big on mazes, hang out in them a lot. I think escaping is the trial. So, I think we aught to keep looking around, leave no stone unturned."

“Yes. I am sorry for your loss. He seemed like a great friend. As to this place, I want to check out the pool with the elementals. It’s an oddity compared to the rest of the maze we've been in and it might hold a clue. Even an exit.”

"Sure. Pool's on the other side of the green room here, and I think we have to get to orange to teleport to green. Let's take red to blue, explore a tiny bit, and then blue will take us to orange, which will then take us to green and the pool."
Dog picks up the fourth shard from the fallen construct before heading to the red room with FeyTok's body slumped over his shoulder. Once he goes through, he'll look north of the blue room to explore a bit, welcoming anyone who wants to join him.

North of the blue room, Dog finds a purple aura with a couple of exits. Further north and west, he finds a long, dark passage that has been lit by a glowing bolt at the far end, likely the work of Tock. He finds not traps or secrets anywhere north of the blue aura room.

Dog finds a door to the left, brightly lit by the glowing bolt. To the right is a passageway that turns and turns again, shrouded in darkness that the bolt's light cannot reach.

Without even trying the door, Dog can tell it is trapped. The same oddly textured stone is on each side of the door as outside the other locked door where Gash was burned by magical fire from a trap.

Wary now both of the trap and of leaving a light, Dog pulls the bolt from the wall (Strength check: 20) and uses it as a torch to lean around and look down the hall to the right. He stays clear of the trap and the walls.
Creeping around the corner, the light from Tock's bolt reveals the passage opening into a dark room. An exit is visible heading north. 10 feet or so into the room is a glistening black puddle. It must be quite large, for Dog cannot make out all of the edges of it.
"Advisement: Be cautious. Though I no longer sense the presence of those crystal constructs, there are more dangers still lying in wait for us." Bulwark is silent for a moment, looking at Feytok's body and remembering his own losses in this place. "Perhaps now we may finally have a chance to rest and recover some strength."
Dog very carefully walks back and reports what he found with the puddle to the group. He's ready to move back into the blue if that's what people want and then into orange to the green and the pool.
Tock says, "I think we should rest. You guys look a lot worse than I do, but even the rusty spikes wound bothers me a great deal. Doesn't look like there is any immediate danger."
"The place near where Feytok died - I think that's about as safe as we can find right now."
The party retreats to the teal room, landing them in the orange aura. Stepping into the pink aura takes them to the green aura. None of these transfers produce the roar of distant minotaurs. Or near ones for that matter. Not straying from the room, everyone takes a breath and begins to relax.
(At last! Everyone may take a short rest, unless you'd rather camp for the night. Let me know if you are doing anything, spending hit dice, etc.)
Dog would be okay with camping for the night, suggesting that at least a bit of rest would be good. Dog can take first watch (he'll treat it as a short rest and roll half his hit dice OOC), letting everyone else sleep, and if things seem to be safe, then they can settle in for their normal camping for the night process with lots of watches and Dog will eventually sleep. He thinks a lot about FeyTok, and Genny and Nev.

Okay, let's move things along. Everyone may take a long rest.
Keyrie:
Miles away, hours after the party searches for sleep deep in the bowels of the labyrinth, Keyrie and Myon arrive at Hergantenus. This is a moderately sized city with incomplete walls and a sprawling farming community that spills out from the city in a way that is clearly outpacing any kind of wall construction. Thus, the feeling Keyrie gets is that of a number of villages clustered together, divided in places by large city walls, as if they villages need protecting from each other.
It is the middle of the night now, dawn only an hour or two away. Keyrie is fortunate enough to find a reasonably priced stable that is already open and tending to their horses. The proprietor is a minotaur named Kristak. He is gruff and suspicious of Keyrie, but polite in dealing with her. He insists on 8 SP per day for each horse (4 horses). He will allow the carriage to be parked by the stables at no charge. Kristak, unsolicited, refers Keyrie to his distant cousin, Pynat, who runs and inn, and his good friend, Lowrea, who runs a magic potions shop. Both are also minotaurs, which seems like a rather lot considering the moderate size of Hergantenus.
Dog has a very uneasy rest, waking almost every time there is a shift change and talking in his sleep when he does get rest - mostly things about the circus, keeping the animals safe with FeyTok, gentle suggestions to watch the crowd's behavior in a particularly rowdy town, curious if simple questions about fire.
He wakes up early and begins to play with the shards they've collected, trying to figure out if they react to anything - each other, movement, other items, the walls, the teleportation orbs, etc. As soon as someone else is up he looks at the rest of the entrances of the room they're in and tries to decide if the pool or another direction is best.
"It seems we can go south to the one direction we've never been, or east, to the pool and a few possible pathways beyond it, near where we beat the elementals and the construct. What do we think? Good to stick together."
Dog, Gash and Tock find a couple of dead ends leading to the north. There appear to be no secrets or traps in these passages.

"Hmm, another color. We might want to find out where that one goes. Should we try before going to the pool, or later?"
While the others decide, Dog is definitely going to the lit-up bolt at the end of the hall to look to either side.
"I think we should explore what we know first before trying something new."
