"That door, I think, is trapped with a nasty fire hazard. I was hoping we'd find some kind of key or magical item that might disarm these traps and open the locked doors, but thus far, nothing. We can try it again, but it seemed pretty tough, right Tock?"
Dog finds little to indicate any secrets or traps in this part of the labyrinth. (Try to be specific where you search so I can keep track easily! As far as I can tell, you are still in and around the flooded room and the pool.)
Tock shrugs, "The conjured thieve's tools and my skills don't fit together, I've tried. We can try to break down that door from afar though, there was room enough to do it."
"Well let's check out the hallway northeast of the pink room, staying quiet so we don't rouse the mushroom men," Dog says. He takes his time, again, searching inch by inch on the walls, floors, and ceilings for anything hidden or dropped or marked. Loose tiles, cracks with things wedged in them, false walls, etc. He'll duck into dead ends and do the same thing. In each teleportation room, he'll look at the pillar and the floors, walls, and ceilings for anything beyond stone. When he steps out, before he steps back in to jump again, he'll do the same thing in the surrounding area. (Let me know if the last roll suffices or if you need another!)
He'll eventually find his way to pink, go east, and then north, trying to stay quiet: 12
(I just meant where on the map you are searching. ;)
Dog peeks around the corner, staying out of sight of the mushroom creatures to the south. He sees a passage that heads up stairs and turns right, with a passage leading right at the bottom of the stairs as well.
Keyrie:
Still somewhat hesitant, Kristak says, "Well, it depends on the degree of help you desire. I have a map of the trial. It won't help you with all the dangers but it will show you the way to go. Maps are...frowned upon by our people." He is quick to add, "I make them purely for others. I've no need of such things myself. I charge 50 gold and you get a potion that implants the knowledge in your mind. You must drink it in front of me, however."
The minotaur coughs as if to clear the bad taste from his throat. "Pynat makes regular trips to Taur. He will escort you through the labyrinth safely for 100 gold, or its equivalent. Lowrea...she has a teleportation spell that will take you directly to Taur. This is strictly a forbidden act, but she and her brother have a clever scheme to sneak people into the city this way. The penalty is strict, however, so the price is steep. 200 gold.
Kristak laughs. "Sorry, I wouldn't know where to begin. Besides, he seems like a formidable beast. You'll be safer with him at your side."
Kristak disappears into his house and comes back with a sky-blue potion. Small dark blue globules float about in the concoction randomly. He uncorks it and a scent of apples, grass, and yeast float across the distance between them. Upon paying her 5 platinum coins, she chugs the entire contents of the flask. It isn't especially good tasting but neither does it taste unpleasant.
Memories of a place she has never been flood her mind. Every turn, every secret, every danger are now memories of her own. She understands exactly what her friends face.
Entrance to the labyrinth
Unstable floor - Crystal minotaur starting point.
Fungus room: 2 shambling mounds and 2 quaggoth spore servants
Pool: two water elementals
Secret wall after collapsed wall tunnel. 3 displacer beasts.
Dog searches the stairs for traps (investigation 22) and if it's clear, creeps up to look around the corner (assuming we're all exploring as a group here).
Dog (and company) find the stairs safe and free any any secrets. Curiously, they go up and then back down again, as if a designer changed her mind when planning the labyrinth. The loop leads off to the east, where it eventually turns north in two different places and south down some stairs.
Dog walks down the hallway slowly, peeking down each entrance, still searching for traps and details (let me know when you want a fresh roll!). He doesn't venture more than a few steps down any of the turns, he's just trying to see what he can see.
"Thank you for you help, with luck me and all my friends will be back for the horses." Keyrie sets of to return the the labyrinth immediately wanting to help her friends.
"Tock please don't step on any spikes this time and if you see fungus, or water, stop and back away. I'm not losing another friend. There was also this pool of goo somewhere near the blue room that gave me the creeps - if you see that please back away so we can plan.
Also should we rest more? Stones you don't look great and I could use a recharge too - those water things took a lot out of me."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Tock Stealth check: 26
Tock Perception check: 16
Down the first passage, Tock cannot make out much with his dim light, but he does see a passage that has been inexpertly widened or perhaps the walls have collapsed. He hears some movement in the distance but cannot make out what is down there. He retreats to the group undetected.
The next passage leads down some stairs to a dead end. (Tock Perception check: 15) No traps or secrets appear to be here.
The third passage at the end of the hall turns north first, then east. A new passage turns north off of that one down some stairs.
Myon and Keyrie race back up the Long Road towards the minotaur's portal to the trial. The sun has risen making travel easy. Brief rests are necessary but the travel time is much faster with Keyrie in her animal form and Myon striding gracefully over the hills. Keyrie estimates about an hour until she and Myon arrive at the entrance to the Trial as they stop to take one last break before continuing on...
Dog would be happy to do a short rest. After hearing Tock's report of hearing movement down the first passage he explored, he suggests going back to the pool room via the teleporters to rest.
"Then maybe we try the purple teleporter? Find out where it goes? I'd feel dumb exploring more and nearly dying if the exit from this trial is right in front of us."
Everyone take a short rest by the pool. Roll your hit dice if you care to.
Keyrie:
After a long exhausting run, Myon and Keyrie find themselves standing before the giant doors in the mountain. Two different minotaurs stand guard and eye Keyrie warily as she runs up in her animal form and transforms back into her firbolg form.
"You seek entry?" says one.
"Foolish firbolg. Your bones will adorn the trial," says the other.
They pull the doors open to reveal the glowing portal into which her friends had thrown themselves yesterday. Myon and Keyrie step into the portal and find themselves in total darkness. She remembers where they are, though. It is at the top of a flight of stairs that spiral down to the labyrinth. She just has no idea where in here her friends are. Or even if they are still in here.

“What about the door on the far east side of the maze? Past the blue and yellow rooms? Maybe that’s the way out of here.”

"I see, and hypothetically of course, what would this cost be?"
