(OOC: I thought Sneak attack damage applied as long as you were within 5 ft. of an ally)
Sneak Attack1d6PHB96
Once per turn, you can deal an extra 1d6 damage to one creature you hit with an attack with a finesse or ranged weapon if you have advantage on the attack roll. You don’t need advantage on the attack roll if another enemy of the target is within 5 ft. of it, that enemy isn’t incapacitated, and you don’t have disadvantage on the attack roll.
(OOC - I understand that to mean that if you have disadvantage then you don’t get the sneak attack)
I Think you are correct. I thought someone had a light spell going to something that would have lit up the area enough that Shiv would have been able to see properly since we are all close together for the most part... but a quick look back and I am not entirely sure that is the case. sorry to bug ya!
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Gribz runs forwards and takes aim, shooting a bolt off straight through the red cape and into the goblin boss’ back. The Goblin turns and looks at the number of people surrounding him.
Action - Scimitar Attack Against Zack
Attack: 8 Damage: 4
Bonus Action: Nimble Escape - Disengage
Movement: To what would be K20 (or K10 on a second map that I have made up. I can either run it off two maps or try and get a single, long map made up in the next hour?)
After being hit in the back by Gribz’s bolt, the goblin tries to take a swing against Zack and winces from the pain as it tries. Zack manages to block, seeing that it doesn’t have a chance, the goblin backs away, ensuring to keep its guard up. It runs into the cave opening shouting “Deen pleh! Rednu katta!”

Zack
Zack's eyes closed in frustration, having no idea what the goblin was saying, and only knowing it sounded panicked. I know most of you probably aren't going to listen to me. I don't know what he's saying... But I don't like the idea of running blindly to wherever he's shouting. I say we hide down here behind the rocks, and around the corners, and see if he comes back... Logically... we came in from that direction, we saw the outside of this mountain.. wherever he's going, it can't go too far that way, I think. He might get confused that we're not chasing him down. Basically.. let him come to us.... But chad.. if you wouldn't mind casting your light spell on something you don't mind losing, and tossing it into the middle of the room? somethign to focus the enemies attention? Or you can all chase it if you wish, try to finish him off? he would say, as he moved over to the far side of the tunnel, feeling his way along until he met with a wall. (And I don't want to be caught so far away from the enemy this time if he DOES come back...)
Zack did a sharp whistle, calling Fenrir to his side as they both made their way over.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Shiv
Shiv would quickly run across the room while pulling a dagger from his shirt and throwing it towards the fleeing goblin. The Kenku would then take up a position at M17, pressing himself up against the wall.
Shiv’s dagger disappears into the darkness with a quiet clatter as it misses its target. Shiv continues to run and take cover, Zack hides slightly further back.
To Zack, Gribz will say "I don't know Zack... If I were being chased into my own hideout I'd fortify my position and wait for them to come to me. I just don't see this Goblin coming out of his hole just because we didn't follow him. Eventually he might, but that could take precious time that we don't have. We've managed to do much better working as a team this time. I'm up for whatever the team decides, but I say we continue this trail of dead goblin bandits to it's source."

Nadia peeked her head out from behind the rock she hide behind, taking note of the goblin that may have gotten away gibbering some jabber she didn't understand and ran from her cover to take her shot at the fleeing enemy.
Movement: F13 to K13
Attack: Longbow on O1 - Attack: 18 Damage: 10
Regardless of a hit or not, she turns to the others. "They probably already know we're here, but as long as we stick together we should be fine." She sends a glance to Zack who had been feeling his way around, a small laugh passing her lips. "And Chad, if you don't mind, could you please make a light for our friends?"

Zack would think to himself (" yes gribz... that's exactly why I don't want to run upstairs we can't see over, only likely be met with a bunch of goblins already poised to pincushion the first two people who come up...")
Saying to nadia as he hears the arrow aink in "Good shot "
His eyes shifted to Chad, who had an opportunity to finish this and make all the previous debate moot. His expectations weren't High.
OOC: Raiketsu, if Zack disagrees with Gribz, why doesn't Zack just say so? Posting it as a thought comes off as really passive aggressive and frankly, I'm getting tired of all of the petty bickering in this thread. I would appreciate it if you would lay off the snide remarks toward other party members, namely Chad and Gribz.
(OOC- partially because it can be insight checked. Also, ic he feels it's pointless to argue aloud when only two others saw any sense in the prior discussion, ic, in regards to being suspicious of random people walking up at midnight, auto trusting the new guy more than one of the people they'd fought alongside already, in a world where essentially everyone and their brother is out to kill you, steal from you, or use you in some way. And yes in the end Zack was ultimately in the wrong in that specific scenario. But I couldn't use my meta knowledge knowing that this was another player coming into the game and just ignore all those glaring warning signs in character. And ic he sees Chad as holding back too much, MMing the worg in that last battle might have made it a little less close to a Tpk. Ooc I see this as Chad's character being played as Chad portrays himself ic. And your goblin is as well, being played like someone who's never truly been on an adventure. So ooc I actually LIKE both your characters because they're breaks from the usual "everyone in the party is already a hardened veteran." But by that same standard, you have to be able to detach yourself and take it less personally. I dont know if you've ever played season1 of telltales 'the walking dead' but in character, zack views you both as "Ben" to differing degrees. Gribz is a capable fighter, but jumped on zack for defending nadia and lillith from what he perceived to be a threat because the man's story didn't add up [mostly due to that lack of context involving that he came from the town over, and if there had been reports a goblin attacks Etc] and Chad's case, he feels that by holding back from casting MM, Chad almost got everyone killed by the wolves. Which I can guarantee you even if we hadn't interacted with the wolves, they would have interacted with us. So in character Zack was trying to distract the Wolves to keep them from howling and drawing attention to the party. He had no intention of fighting them unless it became necessary. So I'll say this one more time. Out of character I like both of your characters because they're completely different from the average player character. And you're both playing them to their Nature's based on their lives up till this point. In character, right now Zack doesn't trust either of their judgment and that's not just going to disappear a single long rest later. And note... zack hasn't said anything else about shiv in any fashion)
(Ooc- also, I didn't want to have to say this because I'm technically telling you the future of my in character planning. But I was intending after we got to the next town once all this was done have a makeup moment with both of your characters after everything was said and done.)
(OOC - You both have valid points, I think it is good to remember that this is a role playing game and people do fall out in real life, especially if they’ve been thrown together in this type of scenario and it would be ridiculous if you did all just suddenly trust each other. Some player thoughts can just be along the lines of: Zack closes his eyes and hopes that Chad hits. Doing it in a supporting manner for other players to see and not mentioning the fact that things have already gone wrong. No players have made any bad decisions, there have been a couple of bad dice rolls but that’s what happens in a game of chance.
So, as players I think we all just need to take a breather, calm everything down and continue playing, we can all get past this, as for characters, we should all just see where the story takes us. I am personally really enjoying this game. If we were sat around a table, we’d probably all be laughing about these in character moments, sometimes it’s hard reading something and taking its meaning out of context or seeing two meanings for everything. I hope you’re all ok, enjoying the game and I hope we can continue and finish this story)
