I know Allison's with Team 1, but maybe there'll be an intersection of our squads or smth down the line so I'll post it anyway.
Allison isn't a person who has a whole lot of ambition of her own, being raised as a child soldier tends to leave somebody... mouldable. She sees Ulthan's victory over pretty much the entire world as a sort of cosmic endorsement of Ulthan's ideals, though she doesn't actually show much fervor for what the army does outside of following orders and having an enthusiasm for battle. Ultimately, she just wants to be a part of the struggle, the clash of souls, etc. A bit of an adrenaline junkie in that way, and has a sort of fixation on the chaos of battle.
When she's not actively fighting, she's constantly analyzing others. She wants to figure out peoples' weaknesses, especially those of her enemies, which is why she has an analytical, inquisitive mindset. Or at least, she tells herself that's why. She's maybe been wearing a mask for too long, doesn't really know who she is anymore, though it'd probably be easier to converse with a brick wall than get her to talk about it.
Slag can only remember fragments of his old life, but he is well aware of what his body used to be.. and how his body now is more of a black iron husk than the finely crafted work of art it used to be. The duegar may have rebuilt and re-purposed him to serve the dragon king, but the real reason for serving the dragon king is the hope of gaining access to the knowledge and materials needed to improve and restore his warforged body to what it once was.. and then improve upon it even further.
Party names straight off the bat? Are we going straight into the guts of the game, or will there be a meet'n'greet RP intro?
Just asking for clarity, but will we start knowing each other, in a 'squad' or some sort of special unit together, something like that?
Regardless, my 3 party name suggestions are:
The Eboncrests (We could all wear black helmets, headbands, skull-caps, etc. Yay! Uniforms :) The Vanguard The Fangs

D&D is a game, but it's not just a game. It's the ultimate storyboard, a campfire to share with friends, an imaginary call to imaginary arms and a ship to sail to horizons yet undreamt of...
Marrow always seems to know more than she lets on. She talks to herself but not more than would be concerning for the line of work she's in. She's made a pact with a powerful entity, so she's a bit crazy and addled and talkative and a teensy bit haunted. Really fun to drink with though, and she's also someone you'd much rather have on your side in a fight -- bar fight or epic siege -- than on the other guy's side.
@MelodicCodes I think Allison and Marrow have certainly crossed paths, locked eyes, implicitly understood that there's a lot of common ground that would be dangerous to explore, and decided to move along without giving themselves any real chance to open up and swap stories (they knew they'd harmonize in just the wrong way and likely end up in a bad bar fight).
She's been in the Disfavored ever since she unexpectedly walked out of the fires of a sacrifice her village made to Ulthan when she was a child, happily conversing with someone no one else could hear. She's gravitated toward blades and became a dangerous assassin and scout deployed well ahead of the main armies to soften up resistance and confuse enemies. She also is tasked with hanging back behind the primary battles to mop up and pursue those still disloyal to the King.
She's very loyal to the people with whom she's served in her squad for these missions, and they would die for her (when they're not concerned for their own well-being... she seems as dangerous as she does loyal). She doesn't understand many people who haven't been in the military.
Ooh, I didn't see the party name thing. Something vaguely military would work well, like "#th Infantry Division", or "##th Company". Since we all have a pretty strong direct combat lean, I could see a name like "Ironclaw" working out, or maybe "Bloody Wing", "Tolling Bells" or "Sunset" would all be fitting bases for nicknames. Of course, mixing the divion/company name with a more stylized nickname would be good.
"11th Infantry Division, Sunset" would be an example.
With regards to uniforms, at least for my character I've been picturing a sort of 17th century colonial militia style.

I was thinking that Slag would be mostly colored with a dark cloak (or the colors of our unit / company / or whatever) that would be hiding most of his fairly mangled mechanical body. with his exposed arms and hands having a variety of hoses and wires running down them and his eyes would give off a dark glow. integrated into his arm and also hanging from his body and his clothing he would be covered in tools, vials, scrolls, and small mechanical creations to work as his "spells" I was thinking about something like one of these two pictures.. or kind of a combination of the two :P
Sorry about the radio silence guys. Just busy with how I wanted everything to start, so I will attempt to answer the questions I have received. Equipment will be your starting, plus 300 gp, no magic items. The campaigns will have limited shared worlds, i.e. both parties are the main party, but the other party does exist in some capacity in the other world. Though unless an ambitious crossover fight they will remain separate. Spellcasters you have the materials on you at all times, it simply takes the amount of gold required for materials to cast it, rather than needing to resupply. No characters know each other unless you will have PM the other person and let me know.
Anything else you wish to know and feel the world would grow from it feel free to add it here. If more on a character side continue PMing me. I will have the starters posted before 10 tonight.
So do you want us to have the 300 gold on our characters or can we spend some of that gold buying additional equipment at player handbook prices? Can we also sell some of our starting equipment or exchange it for items (my warforged starts with scale mail but doesn't need armor because he has his own. I would love to buy lots of crafting kits and tools but I can do that in game with my gold if ya want)
Yeah, either starting gold, equipment, or mixed. All are good by me as it would seem fair that you have some experience and loot under your belt at this point. And for you Wreckzors, it makes sense you can just choose how many you want to buy.
For this first meeting, you are being introduced to the Archon of Justice, Tunon. The Archons each have control over their own forces and are the second-in-command, answering only to Ulthan. He does not directly affiliate with the Crimson or Disfavored.
Hey Vash, I was just wondering if you were waiting on any information from the players as we make our march towards our mission. I am by no means trying to rush you, although I am very excited about Slag and the amazing world you have created for us. I was just wondering if there was a question that needed answered, a roll that needed made, or anything else that you were waiting on from the us. Thanks!
Also, I have been trying to draw a picture of slag and we will see how it goes :P

Awesome, so I have sold my starting armor and weapon, bought tons of tools that I am proficient with and posted my intro post :D I am excited :D
