Since I readied an action, it is up to Ferris to rule whether the swarm is a single enemy (which has already been hit) or a bunch of rats (some of which have been hit and some have not). If the swarm is a single enemy, is there an un-hit enemy for him to attack?

I'm using this logic where swarms are made up individuals equal to the number of HP the swarm has (so this swarm started out with 28 individual rats). For purposes of monster statistics the swarm is a single entity, but it is still a bunch of rats, so I will say you make the attack and kill 4 rats (bring the swarm down to 13 HP).
And Alten relieves 4 more of their pesky lives. Alten, you try your hand at diplomacy and listen for a response... instead you heard the sound of a crossbow reloading.
Meepo looks around for an opening, then responds to Arxius, "Meepo try!"
