If the barrow is on hold and the science experiment that will most assuredly not go awry is still waiting for confirmation, maybe Soar can come along to undercliff?

Kuno looks at Jal and says "Rogue is a fair way to describe what I do." Kuno chuckles. "I think I will tag along to Undercliff and head to the gates."

Kuno heads out the gates and into the countryside and catches up with Ripi, Alton and Kierro and a few others. "So what's the mission?"

Kierro says to Kuno: “I’ve been told that there’s an animated scarecrow going around causing trouble and we have to stop it.” 

(He unclenches his hand to reveal a tiny ball of flame inside) ”Shouldn’t be too much trouble.”

(What's the ”Barrow Quest”? Did I miss something?)

Dwaye follows the group to the undercliff, grumbling to himself along the way that there are way too many people wanting to join our party.

[OOC: We might want to limit the number of people that can join, I get that this is supposed to be always recruiting, but this PbP is getting kinda popular, and we have like over 10 people in the party now, and I'm sure that makes it a lot harder to create a challenge for us to face without just creating something that can one shot us]

We’re doing Ol Tooley’s quest.

The Barrows Quest refers to the story Old Tooley the dwarf told:

"Way back when, the barbarian chief Gilliard Wolfclan trucked with evil sprits and went mad. His clan killed him and buried Gilliard and his followers beneath a mound, sealing his evil away. Seems to have worked so far. Anyway, there's been weird noises comin' from inside the mound lately. Maybe you heroes should check that out. I hear old Gilliard had himself a magical sword, bu I don't imagine that interests ya'."

(Yes, you're right, I'll remove the "recruiting" tag for now; theres one or two players that asked to join but haven't yet, they're still allowed to join.)

"Kierro dont be too cocky, never know what sorta thing coulda been behind a living scarecrow." Ripi says then he will go to the nearest farmhouse and knock on the door

A half-elf farmer answers the door. He is quite shocked to see that it is a golem that knocked! "I... I'm sorry, can I help you folks?"

Jal follows, near Soar.

"Hi! I'm Soar, a paladin of Kelemvor. I heard you have some kind of scarecrow problem? Can we help?"

"You're here to help? Praise be! I'll do anything I can to help, that abomination took one of our best cattle! What do you need to know?"

”Hmm, where does it usually strike? Have you ever actually seen it? And what kind of animals does it usually take? And anything else you know that might help us track it down and destroy it.”

"All around Undercliff it seems like; most recent reports of sightings and dead livestock have been just south of the Snobeedle Orchards. It takes cows, sheep, goats; large four-legged livestock, mostly. I haven't seen it myself, but I've heard it looks like twisted bramble covered in sack cloth, with eyes that glow. That's about all I know, sorry. Is there anything I can get for you before you go, some goat's milk perhaps?"

"Goats milk? My favorite!" Soar says as she takes a swig. "Does a body good. Okay, why don't we scope out south of the orchards and scout around a bit and look for anything hinky. Then we can find a good hiding place and wait. The other option is to pretend we are cows and look... tantalizing? Which I don't think we can do. So let's hide and wait?"

“Sounds good. I’ll start looking.”

Kierro looks around the field south of the Orchard, but doesn't find much of anything. (You may roll Survival instead if you prefer.)

EDIT: Kierro doesn't find a scarecrow in hiding, but he does find something else: the fresh corpse of a young goat. It looks as if it was mauled by bramble.

Ripi after we get to the Orchards will walk around and look for anything like blood or scraps from a scarecrow

Ripi doesn't find anything, but Kierro did; Kierro hurries to collect the group so they can plan their next move, now that they know it is close.
