(It's not been too long that you've been shrunken, maybe a few minutes.)
Soar and Ignis climb acrobatically, Ignis with amazing grace and form; only Soar notices something disturbing in the spiderweb above, though: a giant (to the shrunken party) spider!
- - -
Meanwhile, Kuno miraculously picks up on something that the others hunting the scarecrow missed: blades of grass bent that lead the party straight to their quarry, and with that roll lets say it hasn't seen you yet!
The scarecrow is a bundle of twigs and hay wrapped crudely in cloth sacks. It looks like any other scarecrow, only it's motions bely it's animate nature.
Tiny Soar exclaims, as quietly as she can, "spider!" to her companions. She suggests finishing the climb opposite the spiderweb side to try to hide, since, after all, spiders are good bugs who eat the pests. Which hopefully is not us. Still her hammer is at the ready.
---
(That scarecrow does look like any other scarecrow Soar had ever seen!)
She signals she is ready to sneakily smash it but defers to the more sneaky of the group to go first. She also whispers, "flammable?"
Kierro, not the stealthiest of people, decides to ready Burning Hands and launch it if the scarecrow is in range and notices the group. The cone of fire will be aimed slightly upward as to not burn the nearby fields.
Dwaye rushes towards the Scarecrow and throws a flask of oil at it’s head. Attack: 7 Damage: 1. Dowsing the Scarecrow in oil, making it so he takes 5 (times 2 because of vulnerability) extra fire damage for the duration (1 minute), and after it is lit, it deals 5 (times 2) fire damage every round for 2 rounds (And it still takes the extra 5 every time it takes fire damage, excluding the damage it takes from this though)
The shrunken party might have snuck past the spiderwebs, but Ignis can't ignore his nature. He lobs a ball of fire at the spider! (Damage: 1) The spider is hurt, not enough to scare it off, but enough that Ignis has it's attention! (Initiative: 7)
- - -
Dwaye throws a flask of oil at the scarecrow; it misses, and oil splashes on the ground of the field. The scarecrow, already on fire from the burning hands spell, flails about, igniting the oil! It is engulfed in an explosion of burning oil! The scarecrow is no more.
Now you have the problem of a fire that threatens to burn the whole field if it isn't stopped. What do you do, if you can do anything?
Soar empties her waterskin onto the driest part of the fire and then begins stomping the flames and hitting it with her warhammer. "Flammable!" Partly to smother the flames and partly because she is frustrated that she didn't get to hit the thing at all!
(Can Tiny Soar get to the spider in melee in one turn'S move?)
The party heads back with the charred scarecrow to Phaulkonmere, the compound in Waterdeep where Melannor Fellbranch is groundskeeper.
"Irresponsible to use fire to burn it in a wheat field during the summer heat, but what is done is done; you've solved the problem at least. Here, your promised reward." He hands each of you 50 gold.
[Scarecrow Quest Complete!]
As you turn to head off, he mentions something else. "Sir Ambrose Everdawn, a grizzled old champion of Kelemvor, has offered to help the City Guard catch a necromancer who's stealing bones from the City of the Dead and animating them as skeletons. Sir Ambrose could use your help, ifyou're not too busy."
- - -
(Tiny Soar can reach the spider, but it is still on a web so she will have to be careful or get entangled. Ranged combat may be more fruitful.)
”It wasn't my choice to use fire” Dwaye says in response to Melannor’s first sentence, as he nods his head in Keirro’s direction.
”Hm, I'm not busy, but some of my compatriots might be, so if they don't mind losing out on this quest while they try out that potion, then I'd be happy to help” Dwaye says to Melannor’s new quest.

With a plume of steam, the fire is put out before it could grow too large.
All that is left to do is take the charred remains of the scarecrow back to Melannor Fellbranch as proof of the deed.
Dwaye leans down and picks up the scarecrow, motioning with his head to follow him, then he starts walking towards Melannor Fellbranch.
