Vanvalor watches with interest into the room. "No but perhaps we can find who they are? More about them even?" he queries.
He scans the room through the doorway.
Perception 7
He nods in agreement with the warhammer wielding warrior. "Yes that is impressive." he says with a slight chuckle, as he does so the light from the torch catches some copper scales that seem to be scattered throughout his hairline.
Soar says to Vanvalor that he has a good idea, and she begins looking at the papers and other effects to try to get a sense of what people used these rooms, and if there are any other references to snakes. (Again, she still thinks they actually deal with snakes somehow, not just that they use the snake as an emblem. Soar is enthusiastic but does not have a penetrating intellect.)
(OOC: Yeah, but Dwaye has ”The Gauntlets of Ogre Power”, two magical gauntlets that set his strength score to 19. Btw, this is my first proper roleplaying experience, so if I'm not that good, sorry)
Dwaye pauses, waiting for a response, but not getting one, before speaking again ”Uh- Wait a second...” Dwaye pauses for a second, squinting his eyes, seemingly trying to remember something, before opening his eyes wide in realization and speaking”OH! I thought I recognized you guys, you helped take down that troll at the Yawning Portal right? I was a bit too far away, and a bit too drunk, at the time to help, but I saw it all go down, what are you guys up to now? The name’s Dwaye by the way, nice to meet you guys”Dwaye’s voice is a deep smoky sounding tone, with occasional puffs of smoke even rising out of his mouth

Soar is ready to back up this new arrival at the unopened door, if she hasn't seen anything. "Erik, door-unlocker-extraordinaire, would you like to give this one a try? I'll hold onto this bell just in case it decides it wants to start ringing to greet us. Wouldn't want to ruin the surprise. Again, I'm sure it's a misunderstanding, so what if Floon is playing hide-and-go-seek with his new friends? If we cause a ruckus, we ruin the game."
She's trained enough, however, to have a firm grip on her warhammer.
(Just waiting for an opportune moment to introduce myself. Will remain an OOC observer for now. Human noble swashbuckling fighter called Reynard is somewhere nearby...)
"Hi! Nice... eye... windows? How do those work? I'm Soar. What's your name? We're a group of people who met at a tavern and are looking for someone who got lost. His name is Floon. Red-blonde hair, fancy clothes. Have you seen him? Do you work in this building? Are you a snake person? The people who work here seem to like snakes a lot. What's your deal? If you could whisper, that'd be great, because we're not sure Floon's new friends know we're here and we don't want to give up the surprise."
“Good you are sentient, as for your questions, they can mostly bee responded to with...I’m not sure? I don’t really remember coming here. Oh and what do i do? Think wizard

Soar keeps holding the bell, and before Deryus can try to open it, she tries to look for some kind of trap or mechanism that might set off the bell. (Investigation: 13)
"Hi, 'Think Wizard.' I'm sorry to hear about your memory issues. I'm sure you'll remember. Things might get a little.... interesting here if Floon's friends don't want to play with us. You sure you're up for that?"
Soar finds no mechanism that might be involved in setting off the alarm; luckily, when Dreyus opens the door (which was unlocked) it does not go off.
The open second level is stacked with crates where it overlooks the main warehouse.
About the main warehouse floor: Tables and chairs have been carelessly tossed across the floor. The corpses of a dozen men lie along the walls, their rapiers and daggers lying nearby. On the north side of the area, stairs rise to an open level above (where you are).
Four short, avian creatures with long beaks and black feathers look over in surprise from where they stand in the middle of the warehouse. Each wears a hooded cloak and wields a shortsword. One of the birdlike creatures caws, and in what sounds like the mimicry of a rough human voice, says "Boss, we've got trouble!"

(OOC: also this game is point buy for ability scores right?)

ame stumbles out from, seemingly, the shadows, before noticing the group. “Oh...hello. Would you fellows mind telling me where I am and who you are?”
(Welcome to the new players; Dwaye, no starting with magic items, otherwise you're okay I think.)
Vanvalor notices something a little out of the ordinary: an origami bird of masterful craftsmanship; it is tucked under a manilla envelope.
Ame clears his throat

Erik nods in agreement to the suggestion of silencing the bell. Hopefully, there isn't one on the other side.
He walks close to the door waiting for Deryus to open the next door.
