Nedrick's attack finds its mark and hits kobold 7 for fatal damage. His dagger throw goes wide and misses the target.
Mort sees Nedrick's dagger miss and follows up with a firebolt that hits kobold 6 for fatal damage!

Mort decided to go right, and it turned out to be just a cave room. Nedrick has the next decision. There is a passage way to the west and to the south that are unexplored. Overall cave map below.
Nedricks leans down and wipes his rapier off on the kobold he has slain.
"Enough of this unfortunate business."
Nedrick then goes over and picks up his dagger and stows it back in his cloak.
"Looks like we are all whole. There is no telling how many of these wretched slugs are infesting this cave. We must proceed onward. I have always had an affinity for southern belles so I feel that direction will be best."
Nedrick proceeds to the south.
"TT I wish we were on your beaches right now instead of in this wonderful place. Maybe if I close my eyes I can pretend the heat is the sun."
Nedrick closes his eyes for a moment.
"Nope. The aroma our scaly friends are emitting snap me right out of it."
"Even if we were to go to the paradise that I call home, it is now covered in darkness. I must find the dark riders responsible."
TT generates another batch of good berries and distributes them to the party

"Take these and recover your wounds, friends. The materials in the food I ate earlier we're magical in nature. It seems that I've been able to extract their secret."
The party regains their strength at the kindness of TT despite them previously abandoning her outside the cave. Mort inspects the fallen kobolds finding a few belongings:
8 daggers, scraps of torn leather, meaty parts of an insect, and 1100 CP.
After the brief recovery, the look around and realize they have two unexplored pathways. Nedrick decides to head to the south.
OOC: I am assuming that TT used two spell slots to make 20 berries so she has 3 left over that can be used (I am assuming on herself?) Just let me know what you want to do with the last 3 so I can update my notes.
The group advances south and finds that the path splits to the south-east, the south-west and their is a small room to the north. The small room to the north has a set of stairs that ascends to a wooden platform. The floor is smooth and covered with a few stray bones.
"what exactly is our goal here? I know we came into the cave to rest, but this doesn't seem too restful. Do we think the king or dragon may lie in this cave?"
"By my calculations I believe it is the thrill of the unknown that has us continuing this journey. Perhaps we can find some tranquility in the darkness if we go deep enough. It appears something has made it's home here."
Nedrick will approach the stairs and stand at the bottom.
"Hello! Would there happen be anyone home looking to trade?"
Nedrick's calls echo around the small chamber, but go unanswered.
Mort scurries around the room, hiccuping as he goes. He take his time looking through the room and on top of the wooden platform, he finds what appears to be an old wooden box. On a second inspection, he see that the wooden box is covering a stone box. This box is locked and has three open circles with a dial of four possible choices (a stone, a flame, a cloud and a drop of water) for each circle. It seems that this is some sort of combination locking mechanism on the box (OOC: a combo could be Flame, Stone, Water or Water, Water, Flame etc) There is an inscription on a nearby rock that reads in language that Mort is not familiar with.
After he finds the box, Mort continues to search the room but finds only some broken barrels and some bones scattered about.
The spectral hand motions towards the chest and moves the stone dials into the positions of water, flame, and cloud. The chest vibrates and then releases a glow. A quiet *clink*sound is heard a second later. It appears to have been unlocked successfully.

Nedricks keeps his light shining so Mort can see.
"Take your time and dance all you wish. It appears no one is home. Or they at least do not speak common. Or they do and are plotting our demise."
Mort completes his ritual and runs his hand over the writing on the stone and it reads
"There are four siblings in this world, all born together but to open me, you only require three."

"Well I suppose I'm generally up for some adventure, we do seem to have been sidetracked into another realm anyhow."
Mort opens the chest to find a hoard of wealth. He finds
2200 cp, 900 sp, 100 gp (440 cp, 180 sp, 20 gp per person)
A polished stone ring, a leather vest, a pewter flute, a feathered mask, and a polished stone goblet (non-magical)
Mort also finds at the bottom a deck of cards. It contains 30 cards and on further inspection, he can tell that it is a Deck of Illusions
The group still has two unexplored passageways to the south-east and south-west on this side of the cave.
mort snags the ring, goblet, mask, cards, and flute then distributes the coin evenly amongst his comrades.
