Shishakli runs back to stand next to the trap door and fires his crossbow. The bolt flies forwards and there is a ping as it hits the statue rather than the actual spider in the room.

Verim scowls, then looks over to the now liquified priestess 

”You worshiped false gods” 

Turning back towards the spider he flicks back his wrists, his eyes turn a fiery orange and red, the flames lick the rims of his eyes. 

“And it was all because of you”

Seeing the flames coming towards it, the spider remains on its hind legs and lifts the front ones to avoid the flame.

El blinks at the bright light and then at the spot where the priestess was seconds ago, noticing Verim with his eyes glowing and magic still smoking El puts two and two together, gaining a new appreciation of the warlock. They see the spider approach El freaks out for a moment until Gnarls calls out to the beast distracting it, El's mind races to overcome their fear and seeing Cyndral dodge between the legs of the statue gives them an idea. El runs and kicks off the wall (at N16) sliding under the spider and slicing at it's underside.

Not having made it all the way through, El curls up holding their shield between them and the spider.

As El attempts to kick off the wall, they make it to a point under the spider and dig their sword into its underbelly, coating themselves in a putrid goo, a mixture of puss and blood before staying where they are and lifting their shield.

The spider screeches as El’s sword pierces it. It goes for Gnarls who lifts both swords to protect himself, the spiders fangs get to a point just inches from his face but don’t manage to get to him. Verim’s flames still lick at the legs of the spider.

Gnarls goes straight from defense to offense, taking the swords in front of his face and strikes straight down with both:

Gnarls’ strike with his main hand hits the spiders face, a gash is created from the top of its face to just above its mouth that is still open. Blood begins to pour out of the open wound. The second blade swings but misses the spider that manages to take a step back after being hit.

Cursing to himself Shishakli reloads and takes another shot.

Cyndral, covered equally in ichor and fury, continues to hack at the spider, though his gaze darts warily to the trap door as he does so. Seeing his newfound friends land blow after blow on the spider but failing to fell the beast, he roars out, plunging his sword in once again.

"Symbol of their evil, let this strike be the end of you!"

Shishakli aims for the open mouth of the spider, the bolt fires and hits it in the jaw. At the same moment Cyndrals sword digs into the body of the spider, the blood and puss once again splurt out, covering Cyndrals arms. The spiders legs begin to shake but it still stands.

Tobias’ metal pipe hits against a hard part of the spiders body, a slightly more leathery section that doesn’t seem to be as soft as the rest. The pipe bounces off slightly but remains in Tobias’ hand.

El, freaking out a little at being trapped under the spider, stabs upwards while crawling out on their back. "Get off! Get off!"

(OOC - If El is still on their back then they are technically Prone which would give disadvantage rather than advantage. While still on their back El could move to a safe spot and use half movement to stand before hitting, still only giving a roll of 11) 

Verim in a fit of rage seeing his fellow prisoners being attacked, the screams of the drow guards resonating through his mind, Verims puts both of his hands together, Eldritch Energy crackling in his fingertips, his eyes once again turning purple, he releases the energy in a blast.

Verim's purple energy hits into the side of the spider, taking away a section of the hard outer shell of the creature. It turns to look at him.

If hit Verim needs to make a concentration save for Create Bonfire and a constitution saving throw DC11 or take 10 Poison Damage. 

Concentration has gone. Verim only needs to roll a Constitution Saving Throw now. 

Verim falls unconscious as the Spider sinks it’s fangs into him.
