"Glad to see you back on your feet, and that doesn't sound like a voice you want to be going towards again." With Verin back on his feet, Tobias hurries down below to gather his gear and don his set of chain armor. "Can someone give me a hand? It takes some time getting into this on my own.
As everyone prepares their gear, Buppido, Drendil, Eldeth, Ront, Shuushar, Stool, Topsy and Turvy all begin to make their way into the room and grabbing what belonged to them. Ront, Shuushar and Stool don't grab any possessions but Buppido grabs a small red cloak that he pulls over his shoulders before twiddling the ends of his mustache and swinging his daggers as if attacking imaginary enemies with a grin on his face. Drendil simply picks up a huge, well made fancy shirt and pulls it over himself "Ah, much better, I feel more like me now" he says telepathically with a smile made up of jagged, odd teeth. Eldeth makes her way to the room downstairs "Has anyone seen my families sword?" she looks around frantically. Without saying anything Topsy and Turvy pick up some small wool made shirts and a dagger each.
El has reverted back to their human form. Strapped the back of their pack are two shortswords and a lute, a lyre on one side and a small knife on the other, on the top is a bedroll and lower down a flute is loosely attached for easy access. Behind the backpack two handaxes are hooked into their belt and they have a longsword on their hip, though scarce on intricate detail, is clearly well made. El starts playing with two of their daggers, the other three carried in belt loops on their thigh. They flip both in the air catching them at the same time. El starts showing off flipping one high and while it's still airborne they toss the other up under and around their leg catching both nearly simultaneously then they spin both around in their palms to a stabbing position and crouch dramatically for effect. "Ah, feels good to have my stuff back, have a bit much now though. Anyone want these?" El stands and spins the daggers back around, holding them out loosely.
Gratefully accepting the potion, Gnarls runs over to X7 and begins to setup the rope, using the flat of his sword to hammer a piton into the top of the rock and tying the rope to it
Struggling with his own guilt, Gnarls mind-sends: "I owe you a debt Verrim, that I will repay. I am a man of action, but used to being among a tribe of similar belief. My recklessness led to your injuries. The way if Uthgar is no fear, always forward. Hesitation is weakness. I feel like we are lucky to have survived my ways. This weighs heavy. I will do my utmost to protect you going forward."
Pausing, he continues, sounding assured and confident again.
"Are missing anyone? Do we have our friends Stool, Topsy, and Turvy with us?"
Cyndral remains below, helping Tobias to get his armor properly situated. The process is a bit slow and clumsy, and it becomes woefully obvious that the half-drow has no experience handling armor whatsoever. Once the final bits are set into place he, almost as clumsily with the extra gear, makes his way back up the ladder, seeking out Eldeth before offering her belongings.\
"I believe these are what you have been searching for, my friend? I'm sorry, I'm terrible with names."
El shrugs, "alright well if no one else wants them..." They wait a moment and, seeing the others simply getting on with the escape, decide the time for splitting gear can be made elsewhere and, more importantly, away from their current residence. Slipping one of the daggers into a free loop and holding on to the other. El heads in the direction Gnarls went but stops and looks back at the carnage again, peaking around the corner (P19).
Gnarls pauses as he puts two and two together, having forgotten about Eldeths family heirlooms in the chaos "oh! Eldeth, I have your families gear with me! Slippedy my mind in the heat of battle"
OoC: @ceekay+masaki you both just offered Eldeth her gear, both of you can't have had it.
OOC: Yeah we addressed it in the PM, I made a mistake and said we should stick with Gnarls having it. That's what happens when skimming during my lunch break :T
Cyndral stepped his way behind El, trying his best to get a look at the scene beyond while lightly laying a hand on their shoulder for a moment to ensure he didn't sneak up on and scare them, and also as a preface to his next words, hoping it would help add weight to them.
"What's going on out there is utter madness. When we make our way into it, we should have a plan ready. Waiting to figure out our bearings as we do could easily spell our deaths. Any hesitation should be avoided. Once we escape this place, that will be true until we've reached a city. We need a plan, a direction... And a leader. We need a voice who's word will be final when we disagree on the journey, or we will be wasting valuable time. So far, friend, you seem trustworthy and earnest. Who do you think would fit this role well? Yourself? Perhaps Tobias?"
El jumps slightly at Cyndrals touch, they take a deep breath then half turn to look back at the half-elf. "What we are watching is utter chaos and I for one don't fancy the idea of entering into it, although I'm not sure we will have to face it at all. I saw Gnarls heading off a minute ago, I think he took some of the pitons and rope. We could risk the climb and after facing more than enough combat I'm considering it. If the group does decide that the platform over there is a better option I have some ideas to maximize our safety. Regarding a leadership position I'd consider myself more of the advisory type, besides Tobias or Verim would be a good choice and if I were you I'd consider thinking about the roll yourself. You certainly proved that you have the groups best interests at heart." El turns back to the scene in front of them, gripping their dagger tightly.
Verim feeling back to his old self remains in the bottom room with the loot
Telepathically
“I hope everyone doesn’t mind but I’m very curious to find out what’s down this other trapdoor, if we can avoid going out into the madness we may be able to sneak away without being spotted, I would like someone to assist, with darkvision preferably. I will head down the hatch and check it out, if it leads nowhere is shall return in earnest.”
Verim walks over and inspects the trapdoor in the room, he will check if it’s locked, if not he will open it and peer inside with his darkvision, if open he will descend quietly as not to alert anyone or anything below.
Eldeth takes her gear from Gnarls and inspects the blade before sheathing it “Oh thank you Gnarls I don’t think I would be able to return home without this, it’s been in my family for generations. While we get this moment, I wonder if you can make a promise? I intend to get back to my family in Gauntlgrym but I know that the Underdark can be a perilous place. If for whatever reason I do not make it home, can I trust that you will get this blade back to where it belongs?” For such a stern and strong looking woman, Gnarls notices a sign of fear now as the dwarven woman speaks to him.
El and Cyndral take the time while speaking to look at what’s currently going on. A few of the guards have now dropped their crossbows to start putting out the small fire that is slowly spreading inside one of the towers. The bird like creatures are still getting shot at by the remaining guards and the insect creatures continue to make the horrendous droning sound.
While the chaos is still going on outside, Verim makes his way over to the secondary trap door within the chambers lifting it slowly and quietly peering down below. He sees a room, a similar size to the one he’s currently in and just as dark. The room seems fairly simple inside, there is a single bed on one side and a small table with a single chair on the other side with another zurkhwood chest next to it. On the table there is a simple pewter pitcher and a pair of matching goblets.
Cyndral shakes his head, dismissing the idea without a second thought as he took in the scene ahead of them. It certainly did seem like something out of a nightmare, and the longer he studied the anatomy and movements of the monsters savaging the Drow, the more disquieted he felt. If they could avoid any further conflict, that would be best, he reasoned, these things were holding their own against the entirety of Ilvara's forces, what chance could their small gaggle have? Forcing an optimistic face, he offers El a small smile as he turns to go back to the group as a whole.
"I'm no leader, my friend. I wouldn't know where to begin. What I know right now is that we should ask our fellows who can and cannot handle such a climb down, see that we can find assistance for those who need it, and see if anyone has an idea where we should try to go once we leave here. I believe Sloobloodop and Gracklestaugh were offered as good ideas, but long term, I still believe Blingdenstone is our best way to the surface. But maybe those with more time down here than myself know better."
"Well I'm sure you know yourself best. And I'm easy when it comes to the destination," El gives Cyndral a sly smile and twirls their dagger. "I'm just here for the crazy ideas."
Verim will inspect the chest quickly and check to see if it is locked, if unlocked he would look inside. If locked Verim will use his sickle and one of his Yklwa to jimmy the lock. Verim will try this quickly as not to hold up the group.
”Give me a moment, I’m trying a fast as I can, I’ve found something down below, I’ll be as quick as I can”

He will also check the table, take any fabric from the bed, take items from the chest then head upstairs to regroup.
