The priest turns to Shere and says, "We are trying to get to the Swamp of Sorrows. As for our guide, well, he kind of took a tumble and landed in a pit, filled with spikes, covered in poison. We tried to help him, but he was too far gone."

He pauses once he realizes his surroundings, and then chimes back up once he hears the priest mention Helm. "Oh aie! Somma me best friends from back at the Ironstar mountains were followers of 'ol Helm! Good to see some friendly faces, eh?" He moves over and plops himself down next to the priest and starts warming his food by fireside with a quick-to-trust attitude.

Traveling the vast lands of Idisten vicariously via my players.
Three looks just as confused at Shere. By all accounts, she should've remained so even after any explanation might be given, but instead softly gasped and murmured, "That's it. They got turned around too." She grinned and nodded and looked just as proud as she felt inside. "Wait a tick-...!" She started looking about. "Where's Riverz?" She asked. Though almost as soon as the words left her mouth, she held up a finger to the Tabaxi and said, "Not you. My Riverz. I could've sworn he was in the dome with the most of ya."

River looks around the camp sight for a few moments and says, "Ah, you're right. Must've gotten turned around. Maybe they have a curse on them that's making them lost, and now it's starting to affect us?"

Fujin shrugs confidently "Aie, makes perfect sense to me. Lots'a strange things going on in these woods, least of which being contractin' some sort of damned curse. Hopefully it's not contagious or anythin' like that, I don't want our guides to be catchin' that wretched ailment."
Shere looks dismissively "You know, the old saying Moss grrows on the norrth side of stone, and the sun rrises in the east and sets in the west. I learrnt that from my fatherr herre" he shrugs
"Its common knowledge that even, the best trrained scout can get lost in the jungles herre, temporrarly. So no-one is to blame. Lead on please."
Despite knowing full well that her efforts would be a futile one, Three had busily been looking about the campsite for any signs of the halfling rogue. After a time it even seemed to become a sort of game to her as she'd shift to whispering to various bits of brush, "Come out, come out, whereever you are Mr. Riverz~"But for all of her apparent amusement, overhearing Shere mention 'lead on' has her stopping long enough to regard the rest with a mixture of confusion and excitement on her face. "We're ready to go? Schweet~ Let's get going!"

As they begin to move out, Rivon discretely catches the eyes of each of his companions with a meaningful look. While they haven't been together for too long, he hopes they are quick on the uptake. He knows that Three, at least, will catch his meaning.
Rivon makes an Insight Check 12 vs. the mage's Deception.
"Shere, did I tell you that I bought this beauty at Shades and Shadows?" Rivon shows Shere his bow, but has no arrow drawn. A moment later he draws the string, an arrow appears on the bow and he fires it directly at the mage. "Take them, NOW!"
Sharpshooter Bow of the Blindside + Sneak Attack Attack: 17 - Magical Piercing Damage: 35
He then dives for cover as he prepares for his next shot.
Stealth (to not be seen): 29
(OOC Gah, pasted the wrong attack in there. That was with advantage from surprise attack. Here's the advantage to hit roll: Attack: 17 )
"I could'a sworn had a map, maybe? But like, there weren't a whole lotta details or some such?"Three replied, before letting out a soft gasp and a quiet, "Oh there's Mr. Riverz", in finally spotting the halfling. After that she was happy to be on the move again with the group, humming a pleased tune to herself.
Unfortunately, the meaningful look from Rivon is... sorta met with a blank one of confusion in return, regardless of any added motions to emphasize the unspoken words. She at least drew out Tom, if only to use him more as a walking stick than anything. But having been around each other for quite some time at this point, the halfling would know that no added effort would be necessary. For the moment the call goes out Three unhesitatingly let out an "Okay dokey!" while reorienting her grip to swing at the nearest non-Party member in range. After that came out the axe as her carapace began to part and ripple in places from the beginnings of a transformation.

Fujin spots the glance from Rivon and knows the meaning of the look very well seeing as he's been in the adventuring business for many moons now. The expression of confusion on his face is not that of confusion, but of questioning what the point of attacking is. Regardless, Fujin knows sitting out a fight does no good. Crush skulls first, ask questions later.
The Dwarf rushes the other group as soon as Rivon's ethereal arrow flares into existence, nocking itself in the halfling's empty bowstring. His eyeline follows the arrow as it whizzes past his shoulder and he takes a heaving bound towards the creature it hits, bringing Faithbreaker down upon them.
