Gil would give the cat-like creature a pat on the head and another piece of dried meat. As the group begins to move, Gil would pull out a mist filled glass orb and hold it in his right hand before attempting to gently scoop up the cat in his left hand before following behind the group.
Turning north the group follows Tibi single file along one of the edges. Small pipes along the edge add brackish water that flows south. Coming around the curve they see a tunnel runs north to a dead end. To the west they can see doors every so often and other openings along the tunnel.
Gilbert scoops up the cat who is quite large. It nuzzles him again for a moment and then launches into the air and follows along flying beside Gilbert.
Tibi looks over at the flying cat and mutters something about pets. As he leads the party down the corridor he comes to the first door "somebody - can't remember who - once told me never leave unopened doors behind you"as he moves closer to the door and checks it out (Perception = 17) before trying to open it
Looking in the room it looks like the Vanthampurs store animal carcasses and other fresh meat in this room. Hanging in the middle of the room from the 10-foot-high ceiling are six 3-foot-long chains, each ending in a hook. Flayed boar carcasses hang from four of the hooks, while the remaining two hooks are bare.
Checking the next room along the hallway you find a dining room. Two wooden trestle tables with benches stand in the middle of the room, which is brightly lit by six tall wrought-iron candlesticks spaced along the walls. Each candlestick stands six feet high and has nine lit candles at the top of it.
A connected room has a kitchen. The kitchen is uncomfortably warm and contains a pair of brightly burning cast-iron stoves with piles of wood next to them. Other furnishings include a wooden trestle table where food is prepared, as well as shelves lined with plates, mugs, pots, utensils, and jars of ingredients and spices.
On the south side of the hallway a set of double doors is more interesting. The iron double door leading to this room has Infernal runes carved into its arched door frame. Darvin translates these runes as follows: “That which falls can rise again.”
Listening at the double door you hear a half dozen humanoid voices chanting in Infernal. Darvin tells you that the voices heap praise upon the archdevil Zariel for her tireless effort to win the Blood War. You know Zariel rules Avernus, the first layer of the Nine Hells.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As Darvin prepares to open the door, his face shifts to resemble his best sense of what Zariel looks like (he may have no idea, in which case he looks like whatever he imagines Zariel might look like). Rapier drawn, he opens the door, and says, "You rang?"
(Hoping we might have a chance at surprising some of them at least.... Stealth: 23)

Pushing the door open Darvin steps into the room hoping to fool any cultists into thinking that he is Zariel come to pay a visit. However his plan is short lived.
Two rows of tall wrought-iron candlesticks light this vaulted chamber, each one bearing nine flickering candles. A seven-foot-tall statue of an angel with white glowing eyes and a longsword stands atop a dais to the south. A six-foot-tall fiend bristling with spines stands west of the statue, glaring at four black-robed cultists who kneel and chant in the middle of the room, their faces hidden behind golden devil masks. Nine tapestries depicting the layers of the Nine Hells adorn the walls.
The fiend looks up at Darvin and is not fooled at all by his attempt. In your heads you hear a wretched voice screaming at you, but only Darvin understands what he hears and it speaks of dismemberment, pain, suffering and death to you all.
Darvin swirls his rapier toward the ceiling above the cultists and the devil, and mutters something that has the cadence of Elvish but without recognizable words, causing a shower of purple glitter to fall onto the group from above.
(DEX 16 saves all around --- those who fail are illuminated in purple giving attacks against them advantage, and they cannot benefit from invisibility)
He then gives a few words of encouragement to Tibi (a d6 of bardic inspiration)
OoC: Was hoping we might have a chance of surprise, hence the stealth roll. Is that a possibility, or were they already alerted to our presence?

Gilbert would quickly gasp as he quickly points his wand towards the center of the group of cultists. As he does a bead of red energy quickly forms before a massive fireball erupts from the tip of his want and explodes in the center of the cultists! As he does so, a small silver letter opener would tumble out from inside Gil's robes and make its way towards the cultists. the tiny servant would then attempt to stab the closest living cultist in the leg with its sharp and pointy head.

Flames erupt around the group and the men scream in agony but the devil only laughs. Again you hear a voice in your head but only Darvin understands what is said
Darvin:
Fools! Fire is my friend, let these petty mortals burn, I will crush you!
Reya leaps into the room and starts hacking at the fanatics.
Attack: 6 Damage: 5
Attack: 6 Damage: 9
She cuts down the two on the right side of the room.
"Tallyho"Tibi cries as he launches himself into the air and flies directly at the Barbed Devil - rapier (Attack: 20 Damage: 10 plus 7) and shortsword (Attack: 12 Damage: 6) extended in front of him - after striking the creature he continues to fly past (using Fancy Footwork) to a position about 20 feet away and at least 10 feet above the creature

Tibi turns to Darvin "what do you reckon, sounds to me like a room we need to have a closer look at?"
DM - Stopping a god in his tracks
"Agreed," Darvin replies, in a whisper. "I presume we ought to be ready for a fight."
He proceeds to step a few feet away from the door where he casts armor of agathys on himself, and then looks to Tibi. "Shall I go in first?"
