Langdedrosa saw your attack coming a mile away, skillfully dodging your attack and pushing your weapon up into your chest, causing 8 damage to yourself. Taking advantage of this unlucky fate, he brings his greatsword down upon you:
Greatsword Attack: 9 Damage: 12
As you fall, he laughs and signals the kobolds to release the woman. He faces you, backing away. "Bull of Baldur's Gate indeed..."
The raiders retreat, the attack is over.
Grabbing the healing potions from Nighthill, Camilla, ever the doctor, rushes to your side and makes you drink them, healing you for 6 and 8 before you expire. "Are you alright?"she asks, watching the potion work it's magic.
Li'riya also hurries over, her fingers playing with her bowstring as she frowns after the half-dragon, the bow out and an arrow nocked to the string as she watches carefully to make sure the raiders won't be trying any funny business.
In the warm light of day, Governor Nighthill and other leaders want to know who was behind the attack on Greenest, and why the town was a target. The raiders retreated toward the southeast, and their trail is easy to spot. A small, stealthy group could follow the trail to the raiders’ camp and gather information. Governor Nighthill approaches you all with a proposal: If they locate the raiders’ camp and find out certain information, he offers to pay them 250 gp apiece. He wants to know where the camp is sited, how many raiders are there, who their leaders are, what’s motivating these attacks, and where they plan to strike next.
Astrid is eager to hunt down (and murder) the group that attacked her village, but she nods in respect to Li'riya. "Why of course, deary, take all the time you need!" and then stands there, glaring impatiently at the group.
"You don't need to glare. I was following the cult anyways. Getting paid for it is just a bonus." Edwards says aloud as he attempts to not pick at his bandage.
Despite the loss, Bell breathed a sigh of relief that they had managed to pick up Edward before he could truly pass on. The thought of someone dying in the small little team they had here would have saddened the little bird even if she didn't know him for too long. Death wasn't anything new, but the death of a friend always hurt, and with all that she's lost already, she wasn't keen on the idea of letting someone go so easily. If she weren't so tiny, she would have fought that huge ugly lizard herself!
The kenku had no issues with giving Li'riya some time to breathe. It was clear that something was wrong with her, but Bell didn't know how to properly bring it up and she only hoped the more articulate ones in the group could help her. If anything, she would try and get Astrid to not look so mean at the group.
"Grandma?" Bell questions, her voice childish and meek. "Do you have any candy?"

"Eh eh."Camilla says gently to Edward, adjusting the bandage slightly just a tad so it's a bit more comfortable. "The wound will heal nicely, just keep resisting the urge to pick at it. I know it's difficult."
SIDE QUEST: NESIM'S REQUEST
A young man walks up to you, limping heavily on his bandaged left leg. “I hear that you intend to follow the raiders and see where they’ve gone. I’d like nothing better than to come with you, but in this condition, I’d slow you down. In the midst of all this tragedy, there’s no reason you would have heard about the fate of my master, Leosin Erlanthar, but it’s important you know. He is a monk from Berdusk. He disappeared last night, after we fought a particularly savage battle against raiders. A few others and I fought our way to the keep, barely. Leosin didn’t make it at all. We went back this morning to look for him, but all we found was his broken staff and this choker, which he always wore.”
“Leosin has been investigating these raiders for months. I fear that he might have tried to infiltrate their group when they retreated, or worse, was captured and carried away as a prisoner. No one understands these bandits better than he does, and his knowledge will be invaluable against them. When you find their camp, please look for any sign that Leosin is there. One of my brothers has already departed for Berdusk to bring back help, but it will be many days before help arrives. Anything you can do before then would be a godsend.”
After the battle, Messalina found a quiet place to stay and passed the **** out, not even bothering to clean herself, shift back into her Prime form, or even find a pair of boots. When the morning comes, she cleans herself and makes it a point to acquire some boots before they head out. She also decides to speak to the nervous Li'riya, now that they have some time. "Li'riya, it seems like something's been bothering you ever since we arrived here. Now I know that a dragon attack is a traumatizing thing to go through, but you seemed exceptionally shaken. Have you experienced something like this before?"

Astrid takes Nesim aside, and comforts him. “I will do everything in my power, young lad, to help find your master. What does he look like? How will we recognize him?”
PART ONE - STRAGGLERS SIDE MISSION - NESIM'S REQUEST
Nesim describes Leosin to you in great detail. You'll know it when you see him. (I'll let you know) The raiders’ path is easy to follow across the rolling grassland of the Greenfields. A wide swath of grass is trampled down, but it’s impossible to determine the raiders’ numbers precisely. The path only confirms what you all already know: there were a lot of them, and they were a mix of humans, kobolds, and trained reptiles. The trail leads south about twelve miles, to a more rugged region where steep-sided, rocky plateaus replace the gently rolling hills. The land between the plateaus is largely flat, broken only by outcroppings and wandering streams in steep-sided gullies. The plateaus jut fifty to one hundred feet above their surroundings and are difficult to climb except where rock falls and subsidence created natural ramps. The crumbling sides of the plateaus are dotted with caves and tumbled boulder fields.
You spot cooking fire smoke from several miles away, apparently a group of stragglers stopped to roast a few prairie hens for a meal. They sought shelter in a low spot between surrounding hills, where tall boulders have rolled into a loose jumble. In fact, the surroundings offer no protection while making it easier for enemies to sneak up on the site. By a minute or two of observation, there are four cultists and eight kobolds in this group sitting around a campfire. You could EASILY get a jump on them and have a surprise round if you want to attack, or can bypass them completely and keep moving.
Li'riya shakes her head. "I just...haven't had the best experience with dragons," she says carefully, still speaking softly. "My grandmother didn't like them much...any of them." Her hands go to the scimitar sheathed at her back. "All of this just brought back some memories I'd rather forget...if I'm being honest, I'd rather never see a dragon again, never mind this cult..." she falls silent, staring at the ground.
Now:
Li'riya looks at the group. "If we take a prisoner from here, they might be able to tell us about the Cult's camp and any weak points to exploit," she suggests.
"Neither would I, Li'riya,"She says, calling her eyes away from the ground. "But unfortunately, it doesn't seem like that will be the case. We're all here to help you get through this and if you ever need someone to lend you their ears,I'll be glad to do so, no matter what form I decide to have them in."
Later
"Okay. I can catch them with a spell, or better yet, we can go up and drop those boulders down on them. I'm sure that if we angled it carefully, we could make sure that we still left one alive."

"Thank you," Li'riya says simply to Messalina, although she volunteers no more information.
Now:
Li'riya nods. "Personally I would vote for the spell, less chance of being noticed." She frowns abruptly. "Hopefully this isn't a trap. If it is, we should scatter and try to lose them in the boulders and scruff. If you all don't mind, I'll try to stay among the rocks shooting...I'm feeling better about my bow than Wyrmwatcher, after how things went at the sanctuary."
Ooh!!! Nice hit! Langdedrosa roars and shields his eyes wiping the dirt away, but not all of it! He swings wildly in return.
Greatsword Attack: 11 Damage: 13
Greatsword Attack: 18 Damage: 12
Clipping himself on his foot, badly, he wipes the dirt away, and not looking very happy.

Assuming you all agree, i'll continue.
Li'riya nods, promptly agreeing. She glances at the others. "Could I...have a few minutes to gather myself first though?" she requests of the group.
