"No no no no!"she whispered. Bell looked like something worse out of Neverlight Grove. Camilla raised her hands and Infernal paddles popped into existence and she screamed "CLEAR!"and pressed them on Bell's chest. Her body jerked electrically as she accepted the healing joules, restoring 18 hit points.
Death wasn’t something new to Bell. In the Church of Ilmater, she assisted in the funeral services of lost loved ones and had seen countless of dead bodies prior to going on this adventure. Yet every time she would look into a casket, she grew scared of the thought that one day, that would be her.
The dragons breath was too much for her lungs the second time. Her mind and body were screaming at her to fall back to get out of its range the first, but her determination to protect the ones she grew to love pushed those voices back. She should have listened but she wanted to show bravery, she didn’t want to be afraid of death anymore, she wanted to help, to not be weak, yet she fell the second she breathed in the noxious gas.
Just as she found herself enveloped in cold darkness, she could hear Camilla’s voice screaming her name before a warmth slowly ate away the chill she felt. Soon, her eyes opened again. There were tears stinging at the corners while her heart felt like it was beating a million miles a minute, but it didn’t stop her from hugging the tiefling tight.
”Thank you, mama, thank you,” She weeped, her talons glowing a sheer gray as she casted Aid on the two of them along with Edward for extra tankiness (+15 hp).
