Keeping the same marching order, you descend one by one down the ladder and follow the passage to the north-east. It opens into a new cavern with many decorations of Tiamat and her five heads, with one remarkable statue of her in the north-east corner. Both the statue and the other depictions have seemingly a particular emphasis on her black dragon head - it is highest and largest of her heads. There are also depictions of many other chromatic dragons of all colours.
You don't have much time to study the statue and other images, though. Standing about fifteen feet in front of the statue is a figure that Jalt, Soar and Elspeth all recognise. A tall, powerfully-built blue half-dragon wearing heavy armour, carrying a spear and with a greatsword slung over his shoulder, this is Langedrosa Cyanwrath, who defeated Jalt in single combat in Greenest and left him for dead.
Immediately, his attention falls upon Jalt. They revived you. As expected. It has always been Bahamut's way to coddle the weak, to let their weakness infect others. I hope you have not disturbed Lady Mondath's possessions - you will be punished if you have. Now drop your weapons and fall to your knees. You stand helpless in the shrine of Tiamat, and there is no escape.
Behind the half-dragon, two burly humans wearing dark leather armour lean against the wall, arms folded, observing the proceedings - one with a half-smile, the other with a scowl.
How many actions can we take now? Soar would like to cast bless on her three friends if she can do so before combat starts. If not, she'll just move forward so she's just within 10 feet of Cyanwrath (to the right if she can), and use her channel divinity to summon nature's wrath on Cyanwrath. She'll turn to her friends and say, "spread out, and stay safe."
[Nature's Wrath - As an action, you can cause spectral vines to spring up and reach for a creature within 10 ft. of you that you can see. The creature must succeed on a STR or DEX saving throw (its choice, DC 13) or be restrained. It can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, freeing itself (the vines disappear) on success.]
"No thanks," she calls out to the half dragon. "I don't kneel very well. Why don't you sit tight yourself?"
She readies her warhammer to engage in melee combat with Cyanwrath should he not get restrained and comes forward, or with the mooks in the back, should Cyanwrath get stuck and they approach.
Jalt's eyes open widely upon seeing Cyanwrath again and he makes his way to the front by where Soar is. He draws his war pick and clanks it against his shield. Bahamut does not coddle. Bahamut protects and shines his just light on those who follow his path. You are a fool and pawn of Tiamat. Drunk with the evil she imbues upon your soul. I fell once, heathen. I shall not fall again.

Hoard of the Dragon Queen - Jalt Rhogar - Dragonborn Cleric (9)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(OOC: It's always tricky to go into initiative order at the right point. I think casting a spell with verbal and somatic components would immediately be seen as a hostile act, which the enemy could respond to. Channel Divinity is more subtle, so I will say that in this particular case, because Cyanwrath is so focused on Jalt and so angered by his words, he does not react to Soar's movement or to the channel divinity action.)
Cyanwrath's saving throw STR = 17
Vines writhe from the ground, attempting to wrap the half-dragon around, but he pulls them aside with powerful yanks of his fists, as Jalt delivers his speech. Cyanwrath turns to the two humans: Stay back. I will take them all. One of the humans looks concerned, the other like he couldn't care less, but neither makes a move to join the battle.
Jalt nods to the others as he addresses Cyanwrath before combat opens up... Grace and humility are abundant with the disciples of Bahamut. To take on the four of us is foolhardy, Cyanwrath. But a mistake that you will not be able to learn a lesson from.

Hoard of the Dragon Queen - Jalt Rhogar - Dragonborn Cleric (9)
For all that Cyanwrath was ready and expecting you, or at least some attacking force, he is slow to react - he seems genuinely to disregard you as a threat to him.
Round One: Jalt and Elspeth Nate and Soar Cyanwrath
The two warriors make no move to join the combat; one watches keenly, the other feigns boredom and uninterest.
Jalt continues to clank the war pick against his shield as he moves to E5, trying to get Cyanwrath to focus on him. Invoking War priest, Jalt will make two swipes at Cyanwrath with his war pick...
Attack: 8 Damage: 7
Attack: 11 Damage: 6
(Going to use my inspiration to reroll the lower score... and Jalt will use guided strike to +10 to the 11)
Elspeth assumes the form of a Dire Wolf as a bonus action and closes the distance between her and Cyanwrath, moving to H6, attempting to sink her fangs into the blue dragonborn.
Attack: 24 Damage: 9, DC 13 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.
Cyanwrath is certain that Jalt's attacks will glance off his armour, and his expression is startled, though not yet alarmed, at the damage he takes. As the large wolf approaches, he spits at it but is unable to deflect Elspeth's bite. Honourless dogs indeed.
Nate's quickly going to move up to E7, and unsheathe a throwing dagger in the same process. He will then take aim and throw the dagger, trying for a lucky shot through the half dragon's armor.
Soar races up to I5 opposite Jalt, to Cyanwrath's eastern side, gritting her teeth in a snarl. "You're kidnapping innocent people and trying to push your weight around Faerun and call us honourless? Time for you to feel the might of a real god." She arcs her longsword in a short, powerful upswing, trying to call Kelemvor's aid.
Nate, your dagger does nick his arm, but he doesn't spare you a glance. He does, however, respond to Soar's words, looking at her with contempt as he dodges her blow. A real god is coming, little girl. You will know her soon.
The half-dragon drops his spear and draws the massive greatsword from a scabbard that hangs on his belt. In a single fluid motion he draws the weapon and brings it down in an arc onto Jalt:
Attack: 16 Damage: 9
The dragonborn dodges, with even more apparent ease than Cyanwrath had dodged Soar's attack. The snarl returns to his face, as he makes a second strike:
Attack: 16 Damage: 12
This swipe cuts into Jalt's side and draws a spurt of blood and splatters over the half-dragon and seems to please and energise him - where you thought he would take a moment to consider his next attack, instead there is a surge of motion as he makes two rapid strikes, both against Jalt:
Attack: 22 Damage: 13
Attack: 19 Damage: 9
The first slash makes another deep wound, and he moves in to finish off the dragonborn. Jalt staggers and stumbles, and this helps him evade the next strike - but only just. Jalt is badly injured. Soon you will all fall, Cyanwrath gloats, as he casts his eyes around the four of you, certain of his victory.
Round Two: Jalt and Elspeth Nate and Soar Cyanwrath
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As Jalt stumbles he reaches out to Cyanwrath and casts Inflict Wounds Attack: 5 Damage: 5 and with his bonus action invoking War Priest again, swings the warpick again at Cyanwrath Attack: 7 Damage: 6

Everyone roll initiative please.

Nate senses the tension between Jalt and Cyanwrath, gives Elspeth a quick nod, and prepares himself for battle.
