Elspeth is happy with her dagger, but like Nate eschews heavier armor (-2 gp). After her purchase she'll wait until Jalt comes over, curious about Jalt's plans.
Nature type, is it? the dwarf answers knowingly. Maybe ask around in the capital, they might have something for you. She takes her armour and puts it back in the other room.
(Basically yes, druids don't wear metal armour. You can find armour in the world which is essentially identical in terms of game mechanics to any metal armour, but made of hide, special leather or other non-metallic material - the restriction is supposed to be flavour, not something that actually disadvantages you. But you won't find this armour in a regular smithy - you can either have it made, which will take time, or purchase it from someone who deals more often with druids.)
Soar and Jalt return, and the dwarf gives a greeting. Welcome, and welcome back. You are interested in something specific?
Jalt produces the bag which has the splint armor, 2 scimitars and greatsword. I was wondering if these could be repurposed. The splint armor to be repurposed for myself and my companion here. And the three weapon as well into a great sword bearing the symbol of Bahamut. Is that something that you could do?

Well now, the dwarf says. That's... quite something. Why don't you all take a seat, and let me take a proper look at this. Wherever did you find such... hmmm. Unusual design. Well-made, and well cared-for. Oh, the name's Vettar, by the way.
Vettar spends a good ten minutes inspecting the weapons and armour, tapping them with a small hammer and listening to the sounds they make, frowning. The younger dwarf serves you tea as you wait, and introduces himself as Norek, Vettar's nephew.
In time, Vettar returns. So, here's what I can't do, and here's what I can. First of all, the sword. Yes, I can melt down these weapons and make a fairly decent greatsword; it should take maybe three days to do. But then you said you want the symbol of Bahamut, perhaps in the hilt - well, anything more than a basic design starts adding days to the process. And, well, I'm a good smith, but not a specialist in swordmaking, so I'm not sure what I make would be what you want. But I'm happy to do it, if you want. I don't want to disappoint you, so my honest answer is you'd do better in Elturel or even Baldur's Gate for such work.
The armour is an easier task, but there's not enough material here to make two new sets. I can fit what you have here to you or to your half-elf friend over there, but neither of you is exactly a halfling, right? There'll be some leftover of course, but I doubt it will be much use to anyone. Still, this is a simpler task, and will take two days and cost you 75 gold. If you want to wait here for that time, I'm sure the innkeepers will be glad of it. Otherwise, if you give me an address, I can send it with a caravan to catch up to you - that's if you're in a hurry.
“Might make sense to wait on the sword, then? Would you be able to swing the two sets of splint more easily by repurposing some of the metal from the chain mail I am wearing and of the suit Jalt’s wearing? If not, no worries. But if it would make enough for two sets of splint, then that could be an option. And if you could keep most of the... rather unique design in the gauntlets, epaulets, and other joint pieces on my suit, I’d appreciate it. I’m one of Kelemvor’s doomguides, and He might not recognize me without the skulls and all this other dour, scary metalwork. I smile a bit too much and don’t look like my brethren. Also, the armorer who fit me with this at my chapterhouse would skin me alive if he saw me with stars or flowers or animals on my armor!”
Vettar laughs. Young lady, I would not dream of touching your armour. No-one wants to get on Kelemvor's bad side, right? She smiles, and doesn't seem particularly daunted by the fact you are a Doomguide, which is perhaps a little unusual. I don't think what you suggest will work. Of course, I'd be happy to take most armour in part exchange to contribute to the cost, but I doubt there's much I could reuse from what you have.
Jalt nods Well I appreciate your honesty, Vettar. The swords I shall take with me. My family knew of a smith in Scornubel, my grandfather dealt with him quite often. He looks to the others. As for the armor, I'm not sure if we'll be here for two days or where exactly our final destination will be.So no disrespect but I will take with me. Is there anything I can give you for your time?

No, no, not at all. As I say, the work can be done, just not quickly, and certainly better by others. The dwarf looks a little disappointed, but doesn't accept any coin for her time. It was interesting to see such armour. For a goliath, I suppose, although the shaping is very odd. A very tall dragonborn perhaps? Where did you find such a thing?
Her eyes go wide in surprise and alarm. Dangerous folk, or so they say. I've never seen or heard of one around here. If you have faced one in battle, you must be quite the fighter. Good day to you all, and... well... Thambadar. Kaerus Thambadar, in Elturel. That's the smith you want, if you need that armour and sword done well. Bit of a legend in the kingdom, and a fine teacher. He has a shop not too far from the east gate, but anyone in the city can guide you to him. He's not cheap, mind, but he likes... interesting work.
She wishes you well on your journey, and watches as you leave her smithy and regroup outside.
"Not dangerous anymore, don't worry, Vettar! We defeated him in battle, and he won't be troubling anyone anymore,"she says, absently fingering the hilt of her longsword. "His head is... very far from his body. As are the heads of two of his colleagues." Her eyes have gone a bit distant, and her grin has faded just a bit. She's thinking, and trying to push away some memories. Elspeth's seen this before. She then shakes herself awake and blinks a few times, the grin returning. "Anyhow! I did have one request of you before we leave, and it shouldn't take too much time. This longsword is something I picked up in Greenest. It's seen a lot of wear and tear. I've cleaned it and tried to keep it sharp, but I wanted someone skilled to just take a look at it and make sure it's primed for battle, and I'd also be curious if there was anything that could be done to make it more effective, or dangerous to our foes. Probably not, but always worth an ask. Thank you for your time!"
Vettar takes the blade and inspects it. A decent blade, and well cared for. I can sharpen it a little. She sits at a whetstone and works on the blade for a few minutes, then hands it back to you. No charge, she says smiling. Seems a good weapon to trust in a fight. Unless you want it silvered, there’s not much else I can do to help. I can silver it, if you wish.
Nate thanks Vettar for her help and advice with potential nature folk in the capital and then would just be waiting patiently while the others finish up business. He almost asks Vettar to silver one of his daggers... but decides to save his coin for something magical maybe another day.
Soar thanks Vettar for the offer to silver the sword, but declines politely. She offers a few silver, however, for the sword sharpening and inspection. She’s ready to move along if the others are.
"I'm happy to leave whenever you are, friends,"Soar says, gathering her things and trying to braid Corala's mane in an understated way. (Deducted 3 silver from inventory.)
Nate was a little distracted with his armor mishaps, but now is reminded about the task at hand all the cultists must die and doesn't really want to spend more time in this town poking around for nature folks. Maybe he and Elspeth can do more investigating for nature based armor and/or magic goodies once we get to Scornubel he thinks to himself.
"I can leave at any time." Elspeth shrugs. "There doesn't seem to be many interesting things for purchase in this town, so there's no reason to dawdle, maybe we'll have better luck in Scornubel."
So you leave Berdusk, with a good night's rest and a couple of purchases in your pockets. Any horses still in the inn's small stable are picked up, and you ride out past the various artisan workshops along the main street as you head back towards the main road north.
Travelling along this road is a somewhat different experience from the roads in the south, including your original journey to Greenest. There's more traffic, for one. You pass several caravans and even a couple of individual wagons being driven to Berdusk. The caravans are more lightly guarded that Jasa's, definitely. And you see patrols of soldiers for another, some on foot, others riding past on horse - people greet the patrols and sometimes walk alongside them, engaging in polite conversation for a time. You feel the change as you leave the more lawless wildlands and enter into Elturgard proper - this is a kingdom where law and order are taken very seriously, and even Scornubel, its most unruly city, is less chaotic than most other big trading cities.
It's the morning of the third day since you left Berdusk. The road from the south reaches the road that heads east-west between Elturel and Scornubel, and turning to the east you see Scornubel, City of Caravans, perhaps an hour's ride to the east. A long caravan of perhaps twenty wagons is passing by, and you see a mix of humans, elves and halflings make up its members.
Will you ride west to Elturel, or east to Scornubel?

Jalt will grab the bag of confiscated equipment and goes with Soar. Lets see if they can do what I have in mind for this equipment.
