Elspeth will direct her moonbeam to hit the fleeing peryton in a half-hearted attempt to stop it from fleeing, but she herself will run back towards Albit, checking to make sure the guard is not bleeding too badly.
Boar, Leda nods grimly. Good job. You both turn and watch the last moments of the battle at the front of the caravan.
Nate, you run towards the front, but stop after a moment as it's clear Elspeth, Jalt and their group have also defeated the enemy.
All around you see people slowly creeping out from beneath wagons and carts, looking warily around. They seem in shock, even the more experienced ones, as though the ferocity of this attack was a surprise.
Elspeth, you can make a Medicine check on Albit if you wish. His brother begins to move him, very gently, from beneath the wagon.
Nate, Edhelri comes up to you. You took a lot of hits, she says in a neutral tone. I was... worried for you. You need to defend yourself better. Best heal yourself up, and then see to the others.
Nate replies to Edhelri, with his head bowed "Oh this here wound? Gosh Ma'am, that's nothin'. I had it under control the whole time! Anyhow, I do appreciate the concern and you're absolutely darn tootin' right let me go on yonder and see if anyone else needs my assistance like you say."
Nate is confident his fake character is holding up, and also is in fact quite hurt after that battle.... and doesn't want Edhelri to know about it. He wants to keep his remaining magical reserves to use on the wounded (namely Jalt, Soar and Elspeth). However Nate would go over and tend to Albit if needed so Elspeth doesn't have to. Only if she wants though.
Regardless he will make eye contact with her, and Jalt and Soar and is very glad to see they are alive and ask them each if they need healing.
"So... who needs my services, y'all?"
(Nate has 2 L1 cure wounds spells to cast if needed, let me know if I need to roll. He would cast 1 likely on Albit and the other on Soar)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Elspeth points a finger towards the peryton as it flees, drawing on her magical reserves to direct it to pursue the creature. She waits just long enough to see the beam of bright moonlight, blinding even in the day, catches up to the fleeing shape of the creature and envelope it, before turning away. Elspeth is barely paying attention to the fight at this moment, satisfied that this will be the last she sees of the monster, one way or another. The peryton might have struggled to escape - Elspeth wasn't looking - but the light consumed it nonetheless, scouring the peryton away without a sound.
Elspeth will help Gethyn pull his brother away from the wagon if needed, (medicine check: 21), and she'd gladly welcome Nate's help with treating the wounds whether magically or in mundane ways. If there are people watching, she'd stick to administering bandages and stitches but if they leave her to the job, she'd definitely try to hasten up the process with magic (she has 2 L2 an 4 L1 spell slots left if Nate doesn't have enough juice left, and if Nate comes around, she'll try to pretend it was his magic that did it, not hers.)
Boar nods back to Leda. As she watches the battle finish at the front of the train, she first confirms that Lasfelro's secure under the wagon, and looks to see what the gargoyle's doing. She then turns, as a show of confirming there are no further threats from the front, and takes a few steps forward to try to get a very good look at what the cultists are doing, if anything. Her divine sense flashes dully once while looking at Lasfelro's wagon and again at the cultists. Are the cultists just looking at the battle? Do they seem nervous? Unsurprised? Are they all out with their weapons? Hiding underneath?
Boar will then, when the fighting is over, look to her team to see who is desperately wounded and then find a way to try to lay on hands up to 5hp for them, but only if they are in really bad shape. If not, she will only lay on hands herself for 9hp which brings her back up to full. If Nate tries to heal her, she'll wave him off.
Once that is dealt with, she will examine the corpse of the peryton, and prod it with her boot. "Think these make for good eating? Probably not. They seem... foul to me. Must be some use out of them. Feathers? Claws?" She will do a brief examination of them for anything useful to harvest. Survival: 15

Boar, you and Leda both offer a hand to Lasfelro, and together you pull him up and out from under the wagon. As he dusts himself off, muttering under his breath, you look up and see the gargoyle... staring straight at you. A very slight smile crosses what are presumably its lips, but it says nothing.
Good, Lasfelro says. Good. Yes. Without another word, he moves to the back of the wagon, checks that the entry into the back is secure, and then moves to his driver's seat once again.
You inspection of the fallen perytons takes some time, and as you do it you hear the people of the caravan gather around you and begin to cheer, hesitantly and then louder. Amidst the cheers, a rising tide of conversation and questions:
Did you see that? Did you see what they did?
Never seen four perytons attack - usually one, two at the most.
So weird. Magic, there was magic I reckon.
The healer... it went for the healer, did you see?
You can respond as you wish. You can extract four intact peryton claws, and collect two dozen feathers. As to their edibility, make a Nature check.
Nate, you are quite a way back in the caravan and don't know what happened to Jalt and Elspeth, though word starts to circulate quickly that one guard was badly hurt but no-one was killed. You are also the recipient of much cheering and pats on the back, until a runner comes up, one of the travellers you've not seen much. Master Healer, please come, a young man is injured.
Jalt, if you are casting a spell with somatic components and don't want to be noticed, please make a Stealth check. At disadvantage, because there is a great deal of attention on you, similar cheering and chatting as at the other end of the caravan.
Poor lad, send for the healer...
Filthy creatures, did you see the shadow?
Didn't raise a bloody hand to help, see that?
That final comment is accompanied by a glance at the cultists, who have kept their distance and played no part in the battle, even though several are armed with shortbows and other weapons.
Elspeth, Albit is wounded; he'll wake in 1 hours naturally, but he won't be able to fight for a week or more. Magical healing could get him on his feet and back to full strength today, but Nate is nowhere around. Are you going to use magic?
Eldkin walks over to Elspeth. Good job, very good. Kid's hurt, but could've been wosrse. Two peryton. And two more at the back, that's four. Four's rare. Wonder what's got them stirred up.
Losvius comes over too. That was quite a battle. Quite a victory. Yes. My thanks, you've saved many of us, no doubt. He raises his voice. We rest for an hour, check everything and bandage the wounded. Pass it on. His words are passed down the caravan.
(You can take a short rest if you wish, or use the time to do something else...)
I think... that I shall come with you, Edhelri sniffs at Nate. And she accompanies you and your guide to the front of the caravan; you see Elspeth and Jalt, with Elspeth inspecting the wounds of a young human who is unconscious. A few gawkers are still standing around, but most people are either sitting and resting, or preparing for the resumption of their journey.
Jalt, people don't seem to react much as you cast healing magic upon yourself. Not everyone notices, but some do you suppose.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Ah yes.... that the little snapper?" Nate says as he approaches the young human and Elspeth. He says to Elspeth (in character) "Hi there, mighty fine to meet you. Name's Nate... Cowboy Nate they call me back home. Anyhow I reckon now's not the time for small talk Ma'am.. my apologies. Let me get this here boy fixed up now and then I'll leave you to it."
Nate will heal the young human. (Albit, yes?) Shall I roll or just use a spell slot? If you need a roll, here it is Cure Wounds11
Also, can Nate have a short rest as well as heal this human?
Jalt would look to Elspeth to see if she needed any help. He covers his wounds and walks over to her as she tends to Albit. Prayer. Jalt says.Prayer is always a strong healer. He motions to the people surrounding Albit. If we join in together and take a few minutes together in prayer, the gods will smile down upon us and heal all who may need it.
If anyone takes him up on his offer, Jalt will proceed to cast Prayer of Healing for 13 healing for anyone who is injured and joins this circle of prayer. He whispers his prayer over and over Irisv Nomeno Xiekiv Jennu Bahamut
Albit, Eldkin, Nate and Elspeth are the only ones injured besides Jalt, though Jalt's own wounds are slight after his first healing. Yet a great many of the people of the caravan gather round and join in prayer, some fidgeting as the ten minutes draw on, but also relaxing and becoming calm as the healing takes effect. Even those unharmed in battle, though they gain no real benefit from the spell, seem to feel encouraged by the ritual of it. A holy man, one whispers. And a healer, too. says another. Hush, says a third. The whispers and glances, cautious but not unfriendly, continue through your rest. Jalt however does not get the benefit of a short rest, owing to his prayer.
After the ritual, Jalt will calmly stand up and walk back over to his group of guards quietly. Thought not having the benefit of a short rest, he is fully healed up and feels a little more confident to deal with whatever else may come there way.

Elspeth looks up when Nate enters, trying her best to act surprised and as if she'd never seen Nate before in her life before, and nods tersely at Nate's offered help. "You're a healer? Fantastic, please, your help will be well appreciated here. Thank you, Nate, was it?"
Elspeth is grateful to leave other healing duties to Jalt for now, and she's evidently comforted by the prayers even if her wounds were slight.
To Eldkin, she gives an awkward smile. "Good to see that everyone's safe. The healer's tending to Albit now, but I'll keep an eye on him for a few days just in case. I didn't expect to see perytons either, and , you said there was four of them? We'll have to watch out in the future."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Nate smiles at Elspeth "Yup Nate you got it!" Nate hastily makes work and heals Albit.
Nate will try his best not to pay attention to the cultists but will note that they didn't help with the battle not surprising... well they will have to fight soon enough....
Nate will also greet Jalt and take a deep bow to him "Wow sir, its a mighty fine pleasure to meet you. Shucks I'm glad you're on the good guys side!" Nate tips his hate to Jalt, almost laughing at himself for even talking to Jalt like that but hoping his character facade sinks in more now to everyone in the caravan. He will not join in on the prayer however, he will take his own short rest off to the side, telling everyone that he needs to meditate by himself to "recover his magical powers" when in reality he is mainly going to get away from people and be by himself for a while after that battle which almost got himself killed.
Short Rest: Nate will spend 1 hit die 10, and use his Natural Recovery to recover 2 Level 1 spell slots.
(Is there a way on the character sheets to track spent hit dice?)
Elspeth will direct her moonbeam to hit the fleeing peryton in a half-hearted attempt to stop it from fleeing, but she herself will run back towards Albit, checking to make sure the guard is not bleeding too badly.
(Oops - my mistake, didn't roll for the Moonbeam last round I think. 13. Whether it saves or not, that's enough to finish it off.)
Elspeth, would you like to describe how your moonbeam consumes this creature?
After the battle

Nate would check with his boss to see if she minded him going with the traveler looking for the healer for the young man, and will follow.
"Ma'am, perhaps Suldeseg could stand guard while I go tend to the wounded? Would that be ok?"
If so, Nate will definitely go with the traveler to heal the young man.

Albit makes a sudden intake of breath as the magic flows through him; his eyes open, and he gives his brother a goofy grin. Hey. Did we win?
Yes, the healing only took a second, so Nate can take a short rest as well, sitting and tending to his wounds through less magical means.
Jalt would look to Elspeth to see if she needed any help. He covers his wounds and walks over to her as she tends to Albit. Prayer. Jalt says. Prayer is always a strong healer.
