With Jalt's fall, the little dragons fade from view. With a snort, the dragon beats its wings in one powerful movement, soaring into the air again, thirty feet about Soar and Bazavur or nearabouts.
Faced with the cultist leader, Tangle digs deep, drawing the Arrow of Slaying and fitting it to her bow, drawing, breathing evenly, and loosing at the dragon in one sweep of motion, then letting her eyes fall back to the cultist rushing her. She snarls as he closes, and gets ready to twist her body to of the way.
Move: no, alas, for Steady Aim Bonus Action: Steady Aim for Advantage (to counter Disadvantage from a ranged attack with an enemy within 5’) Action: Shoot dragon with Arrow of Slaying and a flat roll, but Sneak Attack damage from Insightful Fighting, in Game Log.
13 to hit. Ugh.
Reaction: reserved for Uncanny Dodge of Evasion, as needed

ey/em/eirs, or they/them works, too (just not he). Role-playing since that keep on those borderlands. I love it so.
If Soar is shielded, then that's just 10 points total.
Jalt and Soar are up. The dragon flies above you, thirty feet off the ground, planning its next - perhaps final - attack. The tide of battle seems to be going against you, after taking down the dragon's rider so quickly. You are wounded, and one down - can you survive?
Soar grimaces, the shield taking one hit but not the crit. She looks around, uncharacteristically, despondent.
Bazavur takes hit after hit, still standing. Tangle is off somewhere? On an island? Still snarling and fighting. Jalt is... Jalt is down.
Soar herself is poked full of holes from the dragon (who she'd like to be able to hit at least once), from these cultists (who she'd like to be able to decapitate). But she can't allow herself to be distracted by the mass of cultists in front of her, no matter how much she'd like to take them down with her. She had one last chance, one last option in front of her.
She calls out wordlessly to whoever it is in the fey realm, whoever has given her a glimpse of marvelous power but who she has never met, and misty steps to a spot just next to Jalt, just on the other side of the line of cultists [one square west and three squares north]. She disappears from sight of the cultists, leaving silvery mist in her place.
She leans down, in prayer, and places her hand on Jalt's chest, by his neck, under his armor. She whispers, in deep prayer, barely audible. "Jalt. Buddy. I really messed this one up. Please forgive me. I always rely on you, even when I don't know it. You know how to fix things, clean up my messes."A tear falls down her cheek and hits the dragonborn's forehead.
More near-silent praying. "Kelemvor, my Lord, it is not his time. Bring him back. Help fix my mess. I have tried not to fail you my whole life, but I have today. Give me strength to help my friends see this through. Bahamut, this is in your hands now too. Help us bring back your son to stand against tyranny."
Light pulses, and Jalt heals for 35hp, the entirety of Soar's lay on hands pool. She makes sure the group's remaining healing potions are visible to Jalt on her belt, she turns to take in the dragon flying high above, and grits her teeth at the cultists' backs. Furious, but resolute.
She steps forward, right behind C4, and prepares a strike at the cultist's exposed back, hoping she has a chance to make it before her world collapses in poison or claws or teeth or metal death.
She's gotten by this far on hope. Irrational, undeserved, silly hope.
Soar, you move and cast your spell; you feel that both your patron and your God are listening, though they do not respond - and you know for sure there will be no special intervention this time. This is a battle you will need to win with the gifts you have already been granted. Can you do it?
Jalt, you hear none of Soar's words, none of her prayers. You simply awaken, bloody and prone on the damp cavern floor, the sounds of battle all around you and the undeniable presence of the dragon flying above.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Jalt's eyes open just as they were shut. In the blink of an eye, Jalt just sees Soar walking away from where he is prone. Jalt stands up, looks directly at the Dragon above... Wux geou zahhar sva wer cha'sidic di wer almighty Bahamut. With this, Jalt casts Guiding Bolt at 4th lvl for Attack: 24 Damage: 29

"Ive heard it both ways."

Another miss from Tangle; the Cultist Leader swings their weapon skilfully and knocks the arrow out of the air - or so it seems.
Cultists 4 and 5 attack Soar:
Scimitar Attack: 22 Damage: 7 slashing plus 1 poison damage.
Scimitar Attack: 20 Damage: 4 slashing plus 4 poison damage.
Scimitar Attack: 25 Damage: 12 slashing plus 4 poison damage.
Scimitar Attack: 24 Damage: 9 slashing plus 3 poison damage.
Let me know if Soar is using Shield or anything else to reduce the damage, and how much she takes.
Round Five:
Cultist Leader
Bazavur
Cultists 1-2
Jalt and Soar
Dragon
Tangle
Cultists 4-6
The Cultist Leader makes their attacks on Tangle, snarling in return:
Short Sword Attack: 9 Damage: 6 piercing plus 9 poison damage.
Short Sword Attack: 13 Damage: 8 piercing plus 6 poison damage.
Tangle's luck improves a little, as the Cultist Leader's overconfidence seem to detract from their skill.

Bazavur is up.
Bazavur takes a swing at the dragon as it flies up into the air(reaction)
Attack: 15 damage: 6+5+5
Seeing four of his opponents in a straight line Bazavur moves to hit them all with his lightning breath.
11 lightning damage (dc 15 dex save for half damage)
14 lightning damage (take 2)
Opportunity Attacks against Bazavur:
Scimitar Attack: 12 Damage: 5 slashing plus 1 poison damage
Scimitar Attack: 24 Damage: 4 slashing plus 3 poison damage
DEX saving throws against Lightning damage:
C1 4
C2 21
C4 18
C5 13
Ooh, double crit! Extra poison damage rolls: 3 and 4
I make that 14 total damage against Bazavur, after deductions - let me know if you get the same.
The lightning blast flashes with a lot of light, but less heat that you'd hoped as the cultists take some damage, but not too much.
C1 attacks Bazavur:
Attack: 16 Damage: 7 slashing plus 6 poison damage
Attack: 10 Damage: 9 slashing plus 4 poison damage
C2 attacks Soar:
Attack: 16 Damage: 4 slashing plus 2 poison damage
Attack: 15 Damage: 6 slashing plus 2 poison damage
Double poison damage on the last attack: 3

Hoard of the Dragon Queen - Jalt Rhogar - Dragonborn Cleric (9)
"Ive heard it both ways."
Jalt stands, and casts his spell; the dragon takes the hit. It seems somewhat wounded, but not close to death.
Miserable vermin. Die for good, the dragon hisses in draconic as it descends once again to attack Jalt:
Bite Attack: 14 Damage: 8 piercing plus 6 poison damage.
Claw Attack: 25 Damage: 11 slashing damage.
Claw Attack: 19 Damage: 15 slashing damage.
I believe Jalt is down again?
The dragon remains on the ground, staring down at its prey with perhaps a hungry expression?

Tangle is up.
