Soar mouths silently back, "wake these two to protect if this is a threat, let the others sleep quietly for now." She leans down and, in turn, touches both Bazavur and Jalt on the shoulders and whispers, "we have visitors" in their ears.
She looks back up and tries to get a better look at who or what is coming her way.
Soar, you manage to wake both Bazavur and Jalt, but that's all the time you have as swift movement tells you the creatures, whatever they are, are moving to attack.
After being roused by Soar, Bazavur stands and reaches for his greatsword… only it’s not there. Squinting through the darkness he moves close to Tangle. Taking a defensive/protective stance should anything get within range of his breath weapon, and not hit any one else, he’ll blast them.

Soar's parade ground voice barks out. "WAKE UP! WOLVES! CLIMB THE TREES!"in elvish. It sounds weird in elvish.
She looks to the two wolves nearest her. She growls at them. Then, instead of pointing her sword at them, as is her habit, she awkwardly points her stick at the NE one and two eldritch blasts shoot in its direction.
Soar's first Eldritch Blast strikes Wolf 2 as it races towards you all, knocking it a little to the side so that the second blast just misses by a hair.
Wolf 1 moves toward Jalt, preparing to bite. Jalt, please fire off your breath weapon if you wish, and roll damage. The wolf succeeded their CON save and will take half damage.
Wolf 3 and Wolf 2 move in to attack Soar; Bazavur, I assume you will attack Wolf 3, as attacking Wolf 1 would get Jalt as well? If so, please roll your breath weapon - Wolf 3 succeeded their DEX save and will take half damage.
All three wolves seem rattled by something, perhaps the sudden display of arcane and elementary magic. They miss their attacks with an 8, 9 and 9 to hit.
The elves scurry to the trees and begin to climb, with perhaps less skill than you would expect of wood elves.
Let's get the breath weapons first, before going to the next round.
Bazavur runs towards wolf 3 striking at its large body as he gets within reach (19 to hit, 4 damage). After striking the wolf he will attempt to grab one of its legs to keep it from moving towards the elves. (20 str(athletics) check)
Bazavur, you punch the wolf and attempt to grab it; your hands close around its leg but it pulls away with remarkable strength. (It rolled 23 against your check).
Soar mutters a small prayer to Kelemvor. "Gravelord, I'm not sure if you're testing me or I'm testing myself, but I will not fall. Not unless I fall trying to make things right."She asks for divine favor. Then she moves 10 feet to the east, trying to harry the direwolf from the rear, and the stick strikes twice.
Attack w adv: 16/20 Damage: 6 (8 on the crit die)(4 on divine favor) = 18 Attack w adv: 23/23 Damage: 7 (4 on divine favor) = 11
Jalt is extremely pleased with the fact he was able to get his vestments. Clutching the holy symbol, Jalt takes aim at Wolf 1 and casts Inflict Wounds at lvl 1
20 to hit, 16 damage

Hoard of the Dragon Queen - Jalt Rhogar - Dragonborn Cleric (9)
Bazavur runs to the opposite side of wolf one having watched the first one he attacked slump to the ground and hammers it twice with his fists. (Nat 20 for 23 total to hit and 19, which should be 12 damage total? (8(crit)+4))

"Ive heard it both ways."
Three wolves - unusually large wolves - are approaching your group.

Round One:
Bazavur
Jalt and Soar (in any order)
Wolf 1 and 3
Wolf 2
After being roused by Soar, Bazavur stands and reaches for his greatsword… only it’s not there. Squinting through the darkness he moves close to Tangle. Taking a defensive/protective stance should anything get within range of his breath weapon, and not hit any one else, he’ll blast them.
Bazavur stands, breath at the ready.
Soar and Jalt are up.

Jalt stands up and moves to stand in front of the elves. He too will ready his breath weapon if any of the wolves comes within the range.

Wolf 1 takes 5 cold damage from Jalt's breath weapon.
Wolf 3 takes 7 lightning damage from Bazavur's breath weapon.
(Let's say the elves carried Tangle's corpse away with them.)

Round Two:

Wolf 2
Bazavur is up.

And it hits, the sickly black veins pulling the life from the wolf.

Wolf 2 attacks Soar - 15 against AC, hitting I think, for 10 points of piercing damage.
Wolf 1 attacks Jalt - 21 against AC, hitting for 6 points of piercing damage
