As Chill spends time teaching Kazri how to use the boomerang he smiles at the memories. This little piece of his past was a welcome reminder of where he had come from.
When Kazri offers him one he politely declines.
"I have my crossbow, a weapon you should consider carrying. Excellent range and accuracy. I'll bet you're good with a bow also. I could never get the hang of the longbow. I like the extra punch the crossbow offers over the shortbow."
As they approach and enter the canyon he falls quiet. He finds the silence a bit eerie.
He keeps an eye out for trouble and lets Krom and any others that wish go ahead of him.
Rekuberk readies his greatsword as he follows the rest of them into the ruins slowly, ready for a fight at any second. "This kind of place just gives the feeling that something is going to jump out at us at any second... Let's hope whatever comes at us is unable to take flight this time around I...."
Chip would strum a few notes on his lute as though he didnt have a care in the world, following along with the group. As Kazri's new nammer catches his eye he would shout over to Krom. "Hey! Do you think you could make me a solid silver lute? what about a silver horn or pan flute? That would be pretty neat!" He would say aloud with a wide grin.
"Chip, I do not think this the most appropriate time for such request, anyway if you provide the materials or their equivalents I will craft such items, now we should focus on the task at hand." Says in a low voice Krom. "Try also, if possible, to lower the tone of your voice, orcs or other monsters may lurk in those ruins. I prefer to be the one that arrange an ambush not the other way around."

Kazri looks slightly longingly at Chill's crossbow, but she averts her gaze, and suppress whatever thoughts she was having. "I actually used to be quite good with a crossbow, but that was a long time ago. I made a promise to myself that I am only to wield blunt weapons. One day, perhaps my friend, I will explain myself."

"PFF! You worry too much friend." Chip would say with a smile and a playful slap on the shoulder of the dwarf. Then turning to Kazri, he would raise a claw before making a comment. "Could you not replace the tips of the crossbow bolts with something else? A small metal sphere instead of a sharpened point" Chip would say with a smile.
Kazri thinks for a moment about Chip's suggestion. "To tell you the truth, Mr. Tune-Tail, I have struggled with similar ideas. There were a lot of "What Ifs" during my wandering. However, I made a personal decision, and I do not mean to break my own oath."She brings Firebeard's Fist. "I am glad that Krom crafted such a fine weapon, plus the boomerangs. They will be appropriate for the mission at hand."Then she puts the light hammer away and wields her warhammer.

You make your way past the front gates and find the ruins of a very old settlement. All that is left are the outlines of stone buildings visible as collapsed walls. A stone well on the far side of the ruins is filled with rubble. The settlement has been thoroughly ransacked. You search around a bit but all you find are a few crushed dwarf bones and signs of recent campfires, but nothing of value.
A partially collapsed, ten-foot-high wall separates this courtyard from the settlement west of it. Three heaps of rubble are piled high in this area. Hewn from the canyon’s back wall, a thirty-foot-high temple facade features steps rising to a stone platform. Cut into this facade is a ten-foot-high open doorway flanked by crumbling, life-sized granite statues of cloaked dwarves. Evil grins can be seen on their weather worn faces.
As you make your way further in you come across 2 dwarves sitting and eating rations behind the easternmost rubble pile while keeping an eye on the temple entrance.
One suddenly jumps to his feat "Oi, hey! Norbus we've got visitors! And a dwarf to boot. Welcome, welcome! I'm Dazlyn, and this," he reaches over with a boot and nudges the other dwarf, "is Norbus. Whatcha doing out here?"
The other dwarf slowly gets to his feet, a sour look on his face. He replies to the other in dwarven
"Probably here to try and steal from us, look at how they are armed."
even if you don't know what he says, you can tell he doesn't sound happy
Dazlyn gives him a sharp look "Nah, they can help us I'll bet." Dazlyn responds in common.
Rekuberk looks to the dwarf that had made the ride comment, clearing his throat before responding in perfect Dwarvish.
"If we were here to rob you I do not think we would have a reason to come upon you all together or without our weapons drawn. Although I commend you on not being so willing to trust a group of armed strangers..."
With that said he turns back to the other and reaches into his pack to show the paper that he had peeled off the Notice board in Phandalin. "We are here to give warnings of the dragon in the area after seeing this in town."
Kazri understands what Norbus said in Dwarvish, but does not give sign that she understood. She puts her warhammer away, rest her shield to the ground, and put her right hand on top of it. She lets Rekuberk do the talking since he already started.

Rhogar breathes a sigh of relief seeing the dwarves. "I may have over worried there since the WHOLE other incident. Pleasure to you meet you too. The name is Rhogar of Clan Nambatuul. At your services, so long as they are a goodly ones."He chuckles heartily towards the end. "What's this about needing help?" He asks, too curious to sit back and wait now that the warning was given.

Bands of Orcs are also raiding around here so you should be extra careful." says Krom in common. "How is this expedition going? You mentioned that we may be able to help, what do you mean?".
Krom will then say in Dwarvish to Norbus
We are here to help, you should be more careful in the future before calling thief a fellow Dwarf and a Smith of Moradin.
Chip would let out a few squeaks on his horn and smile to the dwarves. "My name is Chip! Chip tune-tail! I am sure you have heard of me and it was nice to meet you but I guess we should he going now! We warned you about the dragon so... mission accomplished!" He would exclaim as he plays a fea more toots on his horn in celebration.

She then sees the cloaked dwarves, and their grins makes her slightly uncomfortable. She digs into her memory if she has ever seen suck statues. (History: 9)

Kazri sees nothing that would indicate there is an immediate danger to staying in the temple.

Dazlyn laughs as he says this.
"So a dragon eh? Well we thanks ya for the warning. Can't say we seen or heard a dragon, bt it's good to know. So that's the whole mission eh? Let us know about the dragon and now ye got nothing else to do? I'll be betting mighty folk like you could give us a hand then eh?"
He looks at Norbus and then back to you.
"There's some sort of jelly things in there. "
He points further into the temple ruins.
"If ya be willing you clear them out and search the temple for other obvious threats, and make it safe we'll give you these stones. Magic stones they be called sending stones. You can communicate at great distances between them. Plus you can keep half the treasure that you find in there. What ya say?"
"Weellll, truth be told, Mr. Norbus. There was some business with the gnomes we were to look into. Though considering its not the dire sort, annnnd seeing as clearing out these.. jellies, you called them?" He pauses long enough for a brief answer at least. "Jellies. Right. Seeing as you two might find it easier to deal with the dragon without other dangers to worry here, I cannot see why we should not help!" Rhogar grins toothily, and happily pats Chip on the shoulder.
