Adopting his best impression, Erro pretends to drive you forward, forcing Rawk forward with the pommel of her greataxe, striking her a bit hard, leading everyone towards the grand statue and towards the passageway.
“C’mon you mangy, ugly lot.”
Deception: 10. (Hoping to be aided in this if it is horribly low!)
Ellis had finished up with the disguises, agreeing to Erro holding onto his weapon and the codeword. Then he felt the rope around his arms, thinking of those still at the temple as he pretends to be a sad and hopeless slave while walking with the others, limping a little as he looks down.

You wander out together into the square, heading straight for the gate. You notice several of the strange 'serpent' shadows undulating around the square. As you emerge they head towards your party - not in an obviously hostile way (in as much as it is possible to tell with an ill-defined creature of shadow). As you approach the zombie on guard, standing in front of a firmly sealed wooden gate, it's head suddenly jerks up and it begins to speak, each word forced out through a long-dead throat. You are reminded of a marionette being jerked around by a puppet-master, and perhaps that is fairly close to the truth.
It shows little hostility, and between Ellis' excellent performance and Erro's confident swagger there seems nothing that has alerted the creatures. The Shadow-Snakes hover close by, about 30ft feet away, but seem little interested in what is happening.
(Shew!!!! Hilarious that it was a 1 after all of that)
Erro keeps it short and to the point. The less words, the less chinks in the armor of deception. “Just some more merchandise for the harvest, isn’t it obvious?”
“You mean to tell me you can’t put these to good use? Well we aren’t going to waste any food, water, or ale keeping these, but it’d be a shame to spill their perfectly good guts for no reason. Captain told me these were on the house. Do you want them or not?” Erro will feign impatience, as if he had been slighted at the refusal of a gift.
For a while the zombie stares, ponderously trying to work out the response. The Shadow-serpents slide closer, but seem to take delight in Ellis' fear as he puts on a very convincing performance of terror (perhaps not entirely a performance). A cold, cold laugh emanates from the creatures.
"The Whisperers have already fed... why not see what the Great Shadow wishes to do with these?"
They seem to enjoy reveling in the fear they produce.
Finally the zombie says "Yes, the Great Shadow will know what to do..."
It turns, removes a bar from the door behind it and pushes it open. A dark passage looms before you, and you can feel waves of emptiness emanating from it.
Aided by the thrill of success, Erro pushes down the adrenaline and fear as the passageway is opened before him. “What an honor, The Great Shadow.” He shoves the base of the axe handle into Ellis’ spine, convinced now of Ellis’ exceptional playacting ability, knowing he could make it look good; feeling almost guilty about it. “On ya go, pretty boy! You too, my little dove, haha!” Erro drives the prisoners forward into the darkness. Once they start moving, Erro will begin to reach for and light a torch if he can’t see in the tunnel, unless anything prevents him from doing so.
The dark passageway feels as if it crowds in on you, the shadows feeding on the darkness there, and you all feel as if you have to push through them, like some cloying mist was holding on to you and dragging you back. It is oppressive and chills you all to the bone, and as you take each step towards the end of the tunnel, where a darker grey patch of light notes it's end the feeling grows stronger and stronger. The walls were once covered by fine murals, but from what you can see in the gloom they have been defaced and defiled. Erro's torch seems to sputter, and the shadows reach up to it, as if trying to extinguish it, the light seeming thin and distant. The door behind you closes and you here the brace being drawn to, sealing you in.
So, you perhaps have a few moments before you leave the passage and enter the Grove. Is there anything you would like to do / prepare before you enter?
Ellis was playing his part, but he genuinely was terrified of these Shadow-serpents and very thankful that their act had been bought. Then he felt the axe handle base shoved in his spine as he gasped and coughed, hearing Erro. So he meekly nodded as they were being led forward into the darkness, walking. He could feel the shadows that were so thick like mist and the cold darkness, shivering as he had heard the door close behind them. Ellis looked to the others for what to do now, wanting to get out of this passageway.

Erro will look around, not feeling quite comfortable enough to drop the charade just yet as he didn’t know if they very shadows could listen in this place. 13 Disadvantage perception.
Erro suggests maintaining the deception for now. It seemed to be the best way to maintain the element of surprise. Fumbling around this passageway in the dark with torches lit it would be impossible to get the drop on anything.
(Let's do this.)
Rawk adopts her best broken wing & sad prisoner hobble.

They were good disguise / deception checks so roll your deception with advantage....

Walking confidently and trying to act like he knows what he is doing, not knowing if it is working or not: 4 Deception advantage.
(( :D - Tymorra has really decided to not like you chaps!! ))

The zombie pauses for a moment, and you sense what little intellect has been granted it by fell magics is trying to make sense of this.
"The harvest has already been prepared?"
It comes out as a statement, though you guess there is also a question in there.

Tempest will continue to follow the others and play his part looking nervous and weak.
Aryn will copy Tempest and Ellis' examples and continue the rouse despite her heart rapidly beating.
