Ellis is thankful that they were able to make up some time thanks to Elia and Erro, smiling from hearing Rawk. After eating with the others, he will help keep an eye out.
Kellar thankfully nods and lies down after grabbing a bite to eat. Though everyone else seems to handle the plesiosaur meat fine Erro's stomach rumbles. Whether from the unsettled food or the fog, Erro struggles to maintain the optimal rudder and sail position and leads the group on a partially zig zag route across the lake. As the morning sun bakes away the fog it begins to dry out the meat. When Erro asks his scout Darion to estimate the distance to the shore Darion gives a guess as his stomach begins to rumble from hunger. You take a moment to gather your thoughts and realize you are well over 700 feet from the shore and quickly move closer in. Around mid day you pause for a brief rest eating the partially dried meat which Elia flavors with some conjured herbs. It's more savory than before and the fatty chunks of flesh seem to sit better in everyone's stomachs. Rawk takes the helm allowing Erro a chance to relieve himself in the lake and you renew your course towards Dom-ryn.
With the opposite shore line now visible far away in the distance you gain a renewed hope and though the cloudless sunny day bakes your skin you welcome it compared to the previous night's storm. Rawk deftly maneuvers her way around the catamaran dropping the sails and catching the wind at just the right angles. You feel the vessel cut through the smooth gentle waves of the lake and make excellent time. Around mid afternoon you catch the first glimpse of a column of smoke rising into the air. You continue onward using the base of the column as your guide and by late afternoon you can just make out the shape of structures along the shoreline and can see roughly 6 miles away a harbor village that you assume is Dom-Ryn. Pleased with your progress and tired from the hours of rowing you decide to settle in for a break and eat. The meat has dried nicely and though most of the thin slices are completely dry the majority of the meat is still juicy. Kellar awakens to see you all enjoying your meals then looks out to the shore and smiles. "Well done. You've made good time. Rest a bit longer and I'll start guiding us in." he says.
You eat your fill and reassume your posts rowing vigorously towards the village. Another hour passes and the village becomes larger as you begin to see more clearly. A long dock stretches out into the water and branches out to the right and left. Multiple catamarans, canoes and two long narrow ships with wide sails float idly by tethered to posts on the dock. Various wooden and clay structures that appear to be built on stilts are scattered about within an encircling wall that stretches 20 feet into the water. Compared to kainui, Dom-Ryn appears to be well fortified and more advanced. As you approach a few canoes and a catamaran float out to meet you roughly 1000 feet away. Villagers armed with spears and bows wearing leather armor greet you warmly but firmly. Kellar makes a complex gesture with his hands and face and the villagers lower their guard as the vessels come closer to one another. The catamaran arcs off to the side and turns wide coming in behind you and you are escorted into the harbor flanked on all sides. Were it not for the smiles and relaxed posture of the villagers you would feel quite threatened by the skill and overwhelming show of force. "They're a bit particular about where you decide to park." he says with a smile and guides your boat into the designated spot and you disembark stepping onto the dock.

Ellis was quite surprised by the villagers with their spears and bows, a bit nervous with how they're being flanked but yet they're smiling and relaxed too. But at least they made it here safe and sound, not too much trouble for the most part. Hopefully talking and negotiations will go well here too.
Darion- the villagers seem to be friendly but structured in a militant sort of way. Through Robyn's eyes you see a large village intermingled within the forest. The layout and composition of the structures has elements of both Dom-gar and Kainui.
Everyone steps onto the dock and begins to walk down towards the shore. About 5 steps in Erro begins to wobble and falls into the water. You turn and look over the edge of the dock and see him swim back up to the surface and begin to tread water. Kellar looks over and smiles but continues to walk down the dock. "He'll be fine. Come along." he says and you watch as a couple of the villagers still in a canoe lift Erro up and into the canoe and paddle him towards the shore. You all gather together Erro sitting shakily on a stump and are greeted by a tall tan wood elf male in leather armor carrying an ornate spear. "Welcome villagers of Kainui. How can we be of aid to you?"
Erro- When you step off the vessel your head feels kind of fuzzy and your legs a bit shaky. The feeling passes for a moment then returns and it's as if your legs forgot how to walk. You try to catch your balance but your equilibrium is way off and feel your body leaning hard to the right. You take one more step spinning slightly in a final attempt to right yourself and fall back first into the lake. You swim up and breach the surface of the water and feel completely fine. Make a DC13 intelligence check.
(If you succeed.)
You have heard of stories about fishermen and sailors who return home after a long journey and having difficulty walking on land. "Sea Legs" is the term you remember being used by someone you encountered in a tavern once. "Some people get it some people don't. Those that do can take minutes to days to get over. Everyone's different I suppose." The words ring in your memory and you wonder to yourself if where you will fall on the spectrum... minutes, hours or days.
Erro’s face turns green and he leans against whatever he can for support, even though he’s sitting down. He tugs Darion’s shirt and whispers to him, “I got the sea legs...”
Erro continually tries to wring out his clothes as he tries to listen along, hoping that he doesn’t need to contribute much to the conversation.
Ellis was surprised and felt bad for Erro before they all gathered together, hearing the elf man. "Thank you. My name is Ellis. While everyone else is from Kainui, we actually came from Dom-Gar and are here to seek help. We aim to fight back against the Yuan-ti, having weakened their defenses a lot when we escaped from their temple and having defeated the Lingering Shadow in Dom-Sorn. If we all work together and quickly strike before the Yuan-ti can gain their full strength back, we can surely stop them for good. We already asked those in Kainui and they agreed to fight with us. We want to return this world to how peaceful it was before the Yuan-ti took over and we can not do it alone. So please, will you help us fight against the Yuan-ti?" he says back to the other as he stepped forward, passionate and knowing that they really need their help. Having both Kainui and Dom-Ryn help fight will greatly increase their chance of this plan actually succeeding.

Hmmm, lets see if Darion understands what is going on with Erro - he's very distracted at the moment: 6
Sadly he does!
Darion looks at Erro sympathetically, then remembers Erro talking really loudly when he was hungover. He will start to subtly sway from side to side, mimicking the movement of the boat.
"I'm sure it will pass soon!" he says cheerfully "Just try not to worry to much about the rest of the world seeming to move! I hear that passes in a week or two! Try not focus on things moving backwards and forwards, side to side otherwise it might make things worse!" he will obviously mimic these movements as he is talking, though will take care to step away from Erro if it looks like he is actually going to be sick!
Erro’s stomach is upturned. He self-talks himself, “yes, don’t focus on the sway... steady as a stone.” He looks even greener now. “Ugh, I can’t even look at you, it is as if you have some sort of sickness aura. If this is your necromancy please turn it off!”
(Sorry for delay in posting, our sewer pump broke at work yesterday so it was an interesting day.)
The warrior chief listens to Ellis partially distracted by Darion's antics with Erro. He smiles and looks past Ellis and chuckles to himself. "You say you have dealt a great blow to the yuan-ti... That you have destroyed the Lingering shadow. Is that why the sun is much brighter these days? Is that why the yuan-ti patrols vanished and the watch towers abandoned?" he asks rhetorically. "If this is true, and the Kainui tribe has joined in this collective?" he adds looking to Kelar who nods in confirmation. "Then, we accept. It is not in us to hide and cower. We will join you in this crusade against the yuan-ti..." there's a moment of pause then the warrior chief yell's. "DOM-RYN. WE ARE CALLED TO BATTLE. PREPARE FOR GLORY!" The entire village, from the guards stationed along the wall to the children and other villagers performing their tasks, erupts into a collective unified chant. The chant lasts for 10 seconds then ends abruptly in unison. You see the village burst into action. (like an old school 80's action movie) Every one grabs their weapons and armor and begins to pack their things for the journey ahead. "You can make yourselves comfortable there. We leave at dawn." the chief says firmly and points to a log structure roughly 20 feet into the jungle line. He then turns to a small group of warriors you assume are advisors or bodyguards and they walk away.
Replying to Erro, he uses prestidigitation to create some sickly greening sparks, and stops swaying, taking pity on Erro "Oh, sorry I forgot to turn my Necromancy off!" he says in a concerned voice.
He will then move his focus back to the chief / leader and the conversation with Ellis.
"Well that was easy. Perhaps a little too easy..." he comments to Erro quietly. He will cast Detect Thoughts, and as they walk through village does a surface scan of some of the villagers, looking to see if there is anything suspicious.
Ellis heard him, extremely relieved as he accepted it but so surprised by the sudden chant. "Alright, thank you very much!" he says back, smiling as he would go make himself comfortable at the log structure. Hopefully the other group were successful in recruiting the other villages in their fight against the Yuan-ti.
Erro thanks Darion for turning his necromancy off. As he stopped swaying as well Erro isn’t entirety sure or not if he was being kidded with. He responds, “I had the same thought. Look at these guys, already ready to go! Perhaps we may have gotten lucky, as you say.”
Darion- As you make your way to the building designated to you, each villager seems to give off one of three emotions, Honor from the glory of battle (vast majority of adults both male and female including the chief), Revenge of a lost loved one or friend (roughly a third of adults) or Concern for a family member (few, mostly children or females). From what you can see and mentally gather, your initial impressions were correct. This is a very militaristic village based in combat and war.
Everyone- You walk towards the structure and see the various villagers gathering their things. All of them seem to work with purpose and efficiency. Even the older children seem to be quite mature for their age and quickly set to whatever task they are assigned. You see an assortment of blacksmith structures with stocked racks of weapons and arrows. Beside the blacksmiths is a large open plot of dirt with hanging racks for various leathers, some you recognize from the hide of Rippers. As you enter the organized jungle you see small homes made around or between the trees. There are nearly no saplings sprouting up and no shrubs of any kind blocking the pathways through the shaded living area. In the distance you see the continuous wall that encircles the village. Standing 30 feet tall and 10 feet wide made of large logs, thick wooden planks and patrolled by at least 20 guards from what you can count between the trees. Kellar looks back to the group and says, "Dom-Ryn are powerful allies of Kainui. They are a village focused on fighting and strength. Though we have fought in the past we have set aside our differences and forged a relationship of trading goods with one another. They provide us with excellently crafted weapons and we supply them with some of the raw materials they lack to create them by themselves. I believe your axe was forged by the smiths of Dom-Ryn Rawk." You make it to the structure and find it clean and well kept in comparison to every other village you've visited. There are neatly organized fur blankets, an assortment of bedrolls and a small collection of fruits and nuts in a weaved basket.
Utterly exhausted from the long row, recovering from his dinosaur injury, and his bout of sea legs, Erro will collapse on a bedroll and quickly fade off to sleep, telling his companions to wake him if there’s any trouble or if any beautiful women come looking for him.
Before drifting off he may attempt some chit chat, as is his way. “Ellis, what of your home? Is it quite so put together as all of this? Is it near and in this country or faraway over the sea?”
"Yes. My father had it made for me." Rawk replies. She looks around the village in awe at the precision and organization of the people and buildings. Once inside she'll set her things aside and listen to the group converse with one another popping a few nuts in her mouth here and there.
Ellis had heard Erro, thinking about home as he shook his head. "It's definitely not militaristic like this village. It's just a small town of mostly farmers and miners, simple but happy people. It's in this country at least, though I'm not sure exactly how far from here since I've only ever traveled to the closest major city and back." he says back, eating some of the fruit and thinking about his mother. Is she alright, and what about the other townspeople too?
