"But they are just scouting, not attacking aren't they? If we can get straight to the root of the problem, apprehend that Koro-arak and take his regalia - whatever it is - it would be easier to talk to the priests after that, I think. I am for paying a visit to Koro-arak."
The Professor translates for everyone, asking, "Do we know where Koro-arak is? And is the scouting party likely to fight the lizardfolk or will they just observe and leave?"

Gruk explains that for the grung, the nuances between raiding and scouting and hunting aren't really all that distinct, and that in fact the same expression is used. Only in context of how likely the object of attention is to fight back does the expression take on more nuanced meaning. B'ark clarifies that she thinks they are likely to attack, unless they come across superior forces. As to the question about Koro-arak's whereabouts, B'ark answers: "Koro-arak often disappear for days in cave near village, Koro- arak only take elite guards and priests along. B'ark never seen cave, but B'ark think B'ark can show Bro-fasser and Longknives where cave is."

"How about this," says the Professor, relating his companions' suggestion to Gruk, "We go intercept the other scouting party before they make things worse with the lizardfolk and possible take casualties themselves. Then we have B'ark take us to the cave where Koro-arak and his elite guards and priests are hiding. If we can discover what evil Koro-arak's forces are involved in and have multiple Grung witnesses, we have a much better chance to convince the tribe that a change in leadership is due."
Looking intently at Gruk, the Professor adds, "Our goal is to convince Koro-arak and his elite guards and priests that they have been tainted by the hag's evil and encourage them to reject her, but it is likely that at least some of them will attack us. Gruk, would you rather take your case to the tribe first while we scout the cave, or would you rather first come to the cave with us and confront Koro-arak directly?"

Gruk ponders the options for a short while, aware of the attention placed on him by B'ark and her underlings. "Koro-arak is evil and cannot be saved. Grung scouts and tribes are innocent, and so are the lizardfolk. With the help of B'ark and Bro-fasser, grung can be convinced to return to grung village, and Gruk can speak to all. This plan is dangerous, lizardfolk could attack, because lizardfolk think this party is sent to attack lizardfolk colony. But if successful, this plan saves all grung, and hag has no blood for ritual. But Koro-arak, elite warriors and priests cannot leave cave, while Gruk speak to tribe. Tribe of Bro-fasser must make sure, Koro-arak cannot leave cave." B'ark seems to wince at the suggestion of a coup, but seeing the reactions of the rest of the group, comes to consider the plan as good as any. "B'ark can lead Gruk and Bro-fasser to scouting force, Br'up can lead rest to cave", she indicates one of the green grung, before turning back to Gruk. Her eyes suddenly widen in amazement, and Gruk quickly adjusts some of his tattered robes.
Given you both have passive perception above 12, Maxine and Shae, you get to make a perception check to notice what Gruk is trying to hide.
You also get to add 100 XP each for the encounter with B'ark and her crew!

Shae would rub her eyes, look up at to check the sun and then glance over to Maxine to see if she noticed the same thing she did on Grung. It's not the sun...
"I'm sorry, Maxine, my level of skill with the elements is not yet that strong. At best I could make a pile of loose earth at the entrance that would only slow them down," says the Professor. "Besides," he adds, "Gruk needs me to come with him to prevent violence between the Grung and the Lizardfolk. Hopefully the rest of you can keep watch over the cave and Koro-arak will not attempt to leave until I can join you, but I know you will do what needs to be done." Smiling, he adds, "Thanks to Gruk's wise plan, we have a chance to avert conflict and spare lives. Let's get to it."
The Professor says his goodbyes to his friends and prepares to travel with Gruk and B'ark.

Maxine nodded to Shae - "yes, I saw it too. Our little frogling all grown up into a leader".
"A pity," she said to Professor, but did not argue, of course, adjusted her faithful crossbow and was ready to move with the rest of the group towards the cave.
With that, Berrus, Shae, Maxine, the two porters and the Star Goddess Crew follow B'rup further into the jungel following a path to the right, while B'ark, Gruk, and the Professor head to the left.
Who between Shae, Berrus, or Maxine takes on the lead? B'rup has been instructed, and is looking to the three of you, trying to figure out who the leader of this group is.
--------------------------------------------
Professor, you make quick time given the skilled grung guides and the small size of the group, and within half an hour, you come across a separate trail leading north. "Grung village", Gruk says in passing. As the grung slow down, so do you. B'ark recons that you're all close to one of the hunting groups, and that it be best they don't notice you right now, since the scouts had priority.
Please give me a stealth roll, Professor.

Professor, as you follow along, a twig snaps beneath your feet. You tense upand B'ark signals for you to stop, and then signals her grung to fan out. Within a couple of seconds, you hear two whistles reminiscent of bird calls, and B'ark relaxes, leading you on. Slowly, over the next three hundred yards or so, the greeng grung rejoin your ranks. As you pass a muddy puddle with deep ruts nearby, she points to it, and saying matter of factly "Wild boar. Make far more noise than Bro-fasser". With that you head onwards toward the scouting party.
Another half hour or so, and you come across a small ravine, with a log across and a couple of vines nearby. The grung very quickly make it across to the other side, but as you try to clamber up to the tree, you keep slipping on the moss that seems to be covering the entire trunk.
Roll Dexterity to make it across the trunk, or Acrobatics if you want to swing across the gorge with one of the vines.
Seeing the hesitation between Berrus and Maxine, B'rup leaps in front of Shae, grabs her hand, and starts to pull her away, leading you to the cave. The crew quickly follows suit, ad it takes B'rup a few moments to realise that you'll not be as fast as he is, having to wait on the rest of you a couple of times. The jungle is thick, and the fatiguequickly shows on the faces of the more injured members of the crew, but the determination pushes them forward, and within an hour, you are climbing across rather steep and rocky terrain.
If you're pushing at the current speed, each person needs to roll a CON save to determine whether they can push themselves or become exhausted. Alternatively, Shae can try to persuade B'rup to slow down, although the persuasion roll would be with disadvantage, since you don't speak grung.
