About two hours after setting off, the group returns, with every container filled with fresh water. Berrus seems to be focused on a small figurine that he is turning between his hands, with both the Professor and Fang looking a bit puzzled.
Shae has in the meantime returned to the ship with her find, and together with Maxine have started setting up a small tarp with some of your gear, to shelter you a bit more against any coming rain.
Is there anything you want to do here, or are you ready to cast off?

"Mushu!" Shae would smile at the sight of him. She'd chuckle from his snaps. "Look what I found!" She almost whispers as she presents her shell to the familiar. Mushu would continue his snaps, nipping at the shell. "Not for youuuu." The warlock tugs it away gently, hoping it didn't get scratched or cracked from his teeth. But it did give her an idea for later perhaps. "Maybe later though..." Shae would pull out a treat to present Mushu to chomp on instead.
Now back on the ship and setting up the small tarp with Maxine, Shae would be humming a soft melody to herself as they worked together. Feeding off of Maxine's excitement, Shae would sway a little bit to her own tune as she'd double and triple check to make sure the load was secure. Shae would smile, then offer a confident nod to Maxine for them sheltering their gear from the rain.
Seeing the others arrive back safely, she'd beam, trotting over. "How'd everything go?" She'd look to the Professor.
Shae's eyes would fall over their nervous protector. She'd make her approach. "Welcome back Berrus." She'd bump him playfully. She knew that alone wouldn't make him feel better. Shae would gesture and look out to the rest of the team all present on the boat. "We can weather the worst storms." She'd then reach for his hand. "Together." Giving it a gentle squeeze before looking back to him with a soft reassuring smile.
Shae was ready to take her post and begin to set sail when the others were.
The Professor responds to Shae, saying, "We found the water efficiently thanks to our experienced jungle guides, and we found an unusual item in the water -- Berrus can tell you more." While the others are preparing to get underway, Snively calls to the dwarf, "If you would like me to, Berrus, I can get a detailed read on the statuette's properties" (using Identify).

Fang would like to wait until the cordon of arrows expires in order for him to retrieve his arrows. Though if the rest of the group is ready to continue, he will not make them wait for that. Before setting out on the water for the next leg of the journey, Fang cooks all of the raw meat that the group has. That way there’s no need to make a fire to cook it on the boat. He will finish his third arrow and then ask if anyone needs any thing made.
"Actually, Fang, if you are offering to make items for us, I think it would be fitting for the Gazetteer on the Jungle actually have a cover that is made of natural materials found in the region. Do you have any suggestions for a material to add to the outside of the book?" the Professor asks somewhat shyly, after having seen numerous examples of Fang's impressive work.

After another hour or so on shore, making sure that their supplies were cooked, Fang collects his arrows, and you all set off into the evening to continue your travels. The voyage is smooth, until about two in the morning, when splash from the waves and the occasional crash of lightning and the rolling thunder wakes you up. The sky is dark, and with the high waves, and the lack of light, you can't make out the coastline anymore, though if you held course from earlier, you're within a couple miles of the coast at most. The captain looks worried though:
"The storm is picking up, and it's worse than I thought. I can't take us much closer to the coast, because I don't want to risk getting beached and smashing the ship on some reefs. We might need to take in the sail though, and try and row through this. I need someone at the front making sure we don't hit anything, and someone on lookout to help Shae and me navigate."
This is a skill challenge to see how you're going to get through the storm.
I need a total of six successful challenge checks, before you fail three times. I want everyone attempting a check, before anyone attempts a second. Once a task succeeds, it can't be done again. If it fails, someone else can try to fix it though. The NPCs are going to help out in narration, but success or failure of tasks can affect them too. You can't use the help action to give each other advantage, though certain tasks succeeding or failing might aid in follow on checks.
Here's a list of things you can attempt to do and the DCs for the tasks. If you have other ideas, you can try them too and roll an appropriate skill. Success or failure on certain tasks can make others easier or harder.

Maxine knew nothing about the boats (aside from the things Captain&Crew were willing to show during last two days) but anyone can tell a big wave from a small one. She tried her best to yell the warnings:
Navigating through the storm: 17 (If I read it correctly, "survival" here is rolled as if it was based on Int, right? And Maxine's Survival goes with advantage (class feature). If I got it wrong - then modifiers are 1 (for Wis) plus 5 (for Int)
OOC: Maxine, the advantage is only for tracking fey, fiend, and undead, not in general. But thanks to Berrus calling out from the ship's bow, I'm granting advantage on the roll.
Berrus slowly staggers his way to the bow of the ship. Lashing himself to the railing, he watches out across the waves with the rain soaking through his clothes and armour. At regular intervals, he turns around to yell landmarks back to the crew. Maxine meanwhile rushes towards the helm, and based off of Berrus' directions, is turning the steering oar together with Falx to try and avoid the larger waves and stay clear of any reefs or sand dunes.
With the winds now strongly pushing against the sail though, one of the ropes snaps and whips across the deck.
