Shae couldn’t help but chuckle when she’d mention the monkeys. “Yeah, but-“ Shae would be interrupted by her own yawn. She’d try to hide it “Are youuu su-“ but would fail miserably, starting to yawn again. And it hurt her face. “If you insist...” She’d mutter softly, giving in. “But I’m not going far.” Shae would lay her head down on Maxine’s lap to nap, laceration side up so she doesn’t bleed on her.

No! No bleeding on Maxine's watch: alchemist contemplated for a moment whether to use one of her creation or stick to traditional ways, and decided not to experiment in the waters. She just gently touched the skin near wound and whispered words she hoped one day she would not need to use at least for sometime (is it so much to ask, really?)
Though a bit worse for wear, you get into your regular rhythm as the voyage continues. The torn sail and the heavy waves means you're losing some speed, but the Captain assures you all that the damage can be fixed once you're at Mezro.
The rain dampens the mood on the ship somewhat, but you can't help but feel a level of pride at how much you've become a team over the last couple of weeks in the jungle. You work together seamlessly and share the burdens of the tasks. The Professor is making sure that his spellbooks are looked after by someone resting, to ensure that they aren't getting any wetter than they absolutely have to be.
You're glad that Fang took the precaution to cook your food before you set off again, as you get to eat it now as you're under way, and you can all tell that it helps with morale to get a nice bit of cooked meat or fish to eat every now and then.
The rain makes Shae's training with Berrus more difficult, since the wet planks lead to a lot more slipping, but Berrus insists that it's good practice for footwork. The note taking meanwhile is made difficult by the precautions against the rain, since the cabin is now primarily used for those resting. You still manage to make some progress on your collected works however. Professor, Shae, Maxine and Fang you have been able to transcribe or share all the spells you planned to by now.
Towards the afternoon of the third day, the rain lets up, and the sea calms a bit. Looking out over the waters and back onto the coast, the previously greenish waters have taken an almost dull grey colour from the rain, but as you keep sailing along your route, you see the dull grey turn more and more borwn, as you start to sail into a wide river delta. You push off a couple of large branches or trees that have been washed downstream as a result of the storm, and soon, Captain Thessalandra lets you all know that you've made it too Kitcher's Inlet. The current of the swollen river is strong, and so you take to the oars again, until about two hours later, towards evening, you land on a rocky pebble beach on the outskirts of Mezro.
What would you like to do?

During the storm...
Fang watches as Shae coordinates with Pincushion and Maxine the efforts of the crew from the crashed ship and their own group with admiration. He watches Glasses valiant attempts at using his control over the elements to keep the water at bay as well was Berrus frantically bailing water with a shimmering bucket. As water seemed to leave the area below decks almost as quickly as it found its way down there.
Soon it becomes clear, with the whipping sound of the sail literally flapping in the wind nearby, that the sail isn’t doing any good. Fang coordinates, thanks to Shae and Maxine, with Bertrand and Brax to take in the sails and get them out of the wind.
As soon as the sail is up and secure, glancing out towards the direction of travel, Fang sees something in the water and shouts, “Reef!” while pointing in that direction...
Sunrise...
Fang remains in the crows nest until seeing the first rays of morning light break through the horizon and cloud cover. Unfurls the sail and uses his needle to repair the sail as much as he can. ‘Hopefully something like this doesn’t happen again on this journey... I would rather fight a troll than deal with another storm.’ He thinks to himself while fixing the sail.
Making his way back down to the deck sees the exhausted Berrus lying on the deck near the bow of the ship and considers moving him somewhere comfortable. Though as he makes his way towards the worn out dwarf is stopped by Shae tending his wounds. “Thanks” is all Fang says as the gash in his back lends itself and the stinging of the salt water spray hitting the wound lessens. Seeing the gash on Shae’s face he places his hand on the wound and says in Draconic “May the elders teachings, lessen your wounds.”
Fang hopes that it helps her feel as good as her use of Kams magic has made him feel. During this exchange Mushu lands on Fangs shoulder and happily accepts the proffered treat from Shae.
Fang looks over again at Berrus and sees the dwarf no longer collapsed as in a heap, but now leaning against the deck. Goes over and pats him on the shoulder, “I see now why you prefer land.”
Fang then helps Glasses with the inspection of the ships stores to determine if anything is missing.
The rest of the trip ...
Fang spends most of his waking hours for the remainder of their time traveling in the crows nest. Having taken a liking to the good vantage point it provides. When the group approaches the area Pincushion refers to as Kitcher’s Inlet, Fang is very happy to be on dry land again. Once the ship reaches the rocky beach near Mezro, Fang hops off the ship and lays down on the beach enjoying the feeling of the rocks against his belly and the sun on his back.
"Let's take the ship with us when we have cleared it of our belongings, shall we?" the Professor suggests to the Captain, adding, "By the way, what have you named her?" The refreshed gnome scholar hops down to the beach and casts Mage Armor--just in case--and looks inland to see what this Mezro place looks like.

Shae was feeling good and refreshed thanks to Fang and Maxine's care, and spending some time in her company. Even if she may have slept most of it... Her body was a little tender from Berrus' training, but it felt satisfying at the same time. She was being kept active and on her toes. Did it ever make her hungry though... Her mind was engaged thanks to the Professor's suggestion to work on the gazetteer. It also allowed her to sneak away and spend some time in to work on a little project of her own. And truthfully, if she were to admit it... Shae found the whole 'ordeal' from beginning to end, rather exciting. They've been through so much already, that even when the worst waves hit in their adventure, they're able to whether it out as a team. Both figuratively, but now in actuality too. The scholar was guilty of enjoying the way everyone came to work together. She appreciated the whole experience. And of course she was proud of their dwarven warrior for so bravely facing his fear head on. Poor Berrus... Shae would chuckle to herself softly.
Although her muscles were still a little stiff, Shae would walk with a bit more confidence and assurance in her steps. Even when she was back on land, walking the sand (I guess it's pebbled. I wanted to rhyme...). She'd hum a soft but upbeat melody, singing to herself in her head as she putters around at her tasks. She was more than happy to agree with the Professor for them to take the boat with them as well if they could, eavesdropping on what the Captain might respond with for a name. She was curious too!
"Captain, do you know anything about that place? Shall we even get off the ship?" Before going anywhere Maxine would prefer to know where they landed and how fast would they need to get out if place is not welcoming.
"Mezro is the go-to location for many archeologists and treasure hunters that come to Chult. At most a week out from Port Nyanzaru, many guides know the way there, and many an expedition has been funded to study, or plunder, its riches. I haven't been there in a good while, but if we're lucky, we might find some archeologists with a supply depot. At worst, we'll come upon a forward patrol of Flaming Fist mercenaries, and we might have to explain ourselves to them, but thanks to your excellent map-making, we should be able to convince them easily enough. If we are taking the ship with us though, are we planning to head over land afterwards?"
The Captain islooking at you all, curious to see whether you want to try the more dangerous faster overland route, or whether you want to stick to sailing around the northern coast.

If it is a week hiking through the jungle with a guide, for us it will take much longer even without additional danger. I say we take what we need and sale away again."
Shae would nod along with Maxine's points. "I would agree with Maxine. Take what's necessary and take sail." She'd look over to pan the horizon. The scholar would keep an eye on the weather, enjoying the sunshine as well. It was nice to feel the sun on her skin. Hopefully it would dry up their gear and supplies a little too.
"I would prefer to return to travel by water assuming we can get the supplies we need here," suggests the Professor, "unless we have reason to believe more storms are on the way. As much as I would like to investigate more of the jungle, our first responsibility is to get the crew safely to port, then we can consider an expedition of exploration." Even given his words, the Professor seems to be excited to see what archaeological discoveries might have been uncovered--as long as they are here anyway.
