Paren pulls a bundle containing dried meat and berries from his bag and offers it to Jonathan. "I know it's not the hot meal you're looking for but I worry that if we go and eat Ombre will ask us for our keys back and then we will have to continue this another evening."

Tanni, drawing on memories from home, can tell that the descending tunnel leads deeper into the cliffs. The stone and dirt that makes up the tunnels shows no recent sign of markings and look to have been here longer than perhaps even Holden Heights itself. The pillars in the room seem to be much more recent constructions compared to the tunnels though they aren't new by any means.
((You may all roll a nature check if you'd like as you discuss what the plans for the group will be.))
Tanni takes a step into the descending tunnel and traces the wall with her hand. Her brow furrows and she inspects the wall carefully, almost pressing her nose to the cold stone. "These tunnels look strange. They are old, much older than the pillars and other additions. They also lack the signs of digging tools. Looks almost like something large and scaly dug them." She backs away from the wall and crosses her arms thoughtfully. "Reminds me of an old tale grandfather used to scare us with about a huge snake Srassi that traveled beneath the ground, searching for food to satiate its eternal hunger." She suddenly becomes aware of others and quickly adds, "Scare my siblings, I mean. I wasn't afraid of a dirt-dwelling worm like that. With gods trying to eat each other and spirits trapped in stone pieces I wouldn't be surprised if there really was a massive ancient snake living beneath Holden Heights"
Her eyes light up and a smile spreads on Tanni's face as a sudden thought comes to her, "Maybe there's treasure down here. Ancient artifacts, magical relics or other valuables the thing has gathered at the bottom of these tunnels, whatever it may be!"
"Perhaps some of your lost divine trinkets, too." Jonathan adds. "Well, regardless, I think standing here and lollygagging is not going to advance our predicament. Let's take a path, shall we?"
Knok rolls his shoulders, stretches his arms high above his head, and slides his left arm into the shield he wears across his back, while pulling his scimitar free of the scabbard at his waist. Without asking, he moves to the front of the group, relying on his natural capacity for night vision to lead the small party, and his armor and shield to protect him from whatever might lie before them.
"Stay behind Knok for now. Knok can see, Knok can slash," he says with a slice of his scimitar through the air before him, "and Knok can block." With a tilt of his head, he continues. "Knok used to being the first one to get bitten anyway. Old Milk-Eye said it was because Knok was worthless. But Knok always lived. Let's all hope that stays true."
Finan waits for the group decision to fall, then gestures for Knok to lead the way down. His thoughts were momentarily on the Elf that transformed into a horse, wondering if she was still alive. The other route might have led to her, but even that chance was slim. The prospect of finding her, or reuniting with Quentin, was dropping rapidly, so he just resigned to sticking with the current group. There was a mystery to be solved, and there was someone in particular that could provide some answers. If Aiden would be found down there did not seem likely either, but then nothing made sense these past days anyways.
With a soft, amused chuckle, his irritation replaced with simple, dumbfounded carelessness, he winks at Tanni and moves in to follow after Knok.

If the downwards tunnel is wide enough, Tanni walks to Knok's side. If not, she walks right behind Knok and Paren. Nevertheless, she points her warhammer towards the tunnel leading down and says, "Downwards then, friends!" She then places her hand to Knok's shoulder for a second, "Don't worry, Knok. If there's something living in these tunnels, we smash it together. I've been dying to find out what mr. Burgwald is capable of." She smirks and pats the head of her warhammer.
OOC: How wide is the tunnel? is it wide enough for two people to walk side by side?
Jonathan seems a little less annoyed now that there's is a chosen path. He doesn't really care too much for the adventurer's side of things, but he knows for now he'd be better off working with these folk and hopefully uncover what's really going on. Decidedly staying with the light source he keeps one hand ready to draw his rapier in case of giant worm creatures or other beasties of the below.
The width of the tunnel is big enough for two people to walk side by side especially when Knok is one of those people.
As you walk, the sounds of silence surrounds you. If it weren't for the slight shuffle of your companion's armor, the beating of your own heart would be deafening.
You get the sense that you've been walking for quite sometime and the slight downward slope and curve of the tunnel reveals it is spiraling inward on itself.
The silence slowly dissipates as the sound of water drops echo within the tunnel ahead.
Finan grunts as he chews on some hard tack at the back of the group. His arm is growing a bit stiff from holding the torch, but he keeps it raised high enough for everyone to have light to see by. "Hold up, that sound is making me need to piss."he says suddenly, pushing the torch into Jonathan's hand and moving a few steps back before relieving himself against the stone wall. "I wonder how far down this goes," he says to cover the sound, "Not sure if this goes where you thought it would, either. If this goes all the way down the cliffs we have a long walk on our hands."
Knock gives Tanni a playful bump with his elbow. "Knok never had someone to walk next to him before. Always behind because they were scaredy goblins, or ahead because they were strong wizards dragging Knok along with them. Knok looks forward to slashing what you and Mr. Burgwald smash!"
Relieving himself next to Finan, the goblin grins up at his companion for a moment, before attending to his own "business." "Good thinking, Finan. Also marks our territory for any predators behind us!"

"I think water means something could be living nearby." Jonathan mentions. "Perhaps a local 'watering hole' for some critters." He decides to take his rapier out, making sure there is no wear and tear on it before listening out for things outside of the group tinkling.
The tunnel is rather peaceful with the quiet sounds of water drops providing a rhythmic beat to your steps. . As you continue your descent, a soft hum can be heard. Paren would quickly recognize this as running water similar to the stream that he watched over.
The spiraling tunnel doesn't provide much ability to see what's coming around the bend.
Once both he and Knok are done, Finan squats down to get down to eye level with the Goblin."You're an odd one, you know that?" he says, then gives him a gentle pat on the cheek before standing back up and turning to the others. "Jonathan, we never got around to that duel. I know now is not the time, but looking at you now, I do hope you're not as dangerous as that ghoulish thing we encountered yesterday."
"Well, Knok, want to lead the way again? Tanni? Me, Jonathan and Paren will be right behind you. Oh, and Paren, if anything should happen, I do remember that I'm holding on to your equipment for the moment, don't worry."
OOC:
I think the current structure would be Knok and Tanni front, then Paren middle, and Jonathan and Finan holding up the rear.
