Badger sits down on the floor amongst the vegetation to rest for a few moments, feeling rather drained for the ordeal. He can only imagine how Mal and Grenk must feel. But not one to demonstrate concern overly much, Badger leaves them to it and walks over to what remains of the creatures to determine what caused them to come alive, and whether it might happen again. He recalls the magic eye seeing some gas coming from the north chamber (now sealed away) and ponders what the connection might be. Investigation/Arcana: 20

How does a red dragon blow out the candles on its birthday cake?
Badger examines them. The vegetation seems to still have the remnants of the gas clinging to it, he can smell and see it. Where he wipes it from, the vegetation loses its vitality and droops. He figures the gas must be some sort of plant life infusing compound. Either way, these creatures have been too thoroughly chopped up, burned and melted by acid to reform, even if re-exposed to the gas. Maybe if they had a few weeks to regrow a bit...but in their current state, there's no way.

Mal's eyes flutter open as her worried allies stand around her, a minimal amount of healing having been applied. The group helps her out of this rotting room and back into the previous room with the dragons. Slime covers a good portion of the room, but there is still plenty of room to rest. The group, beating and bruised, sits back to take a good long rest. The time passes peacefully enough. Aside from the odd insect, nothing seems to wander these strange gear rooms and 8 hours passes uneventfully.
(Long rest achieved.)

Grenk slumps down, bruiesed and beaten. "Rest, agreed," he mumbles as he passes out right there. (Was down to 4 HP). Upon awakening he has a ravenous hunger and quickly eats through his morning ration.
SIlas will spend a moment to load another mass healing word into his Ioun Stone before going to sleep and before setting off after waking up, cast Death Ward on himself.

"That was not a plant as much as earth itself trying to consume us," Silas replies, "I can only believe more dangerous creatures will be coming as we get closer to our goal,"

Badger sleeps fitfully, dreams racing through his head. The living mound of vegetation engulfs each of his companions one by one. Then it suddenly morphs into a huge rabbit with a single long horn and engulfs him too. Inside its belly is a large room that spins around and around, the single doorway aligning with new passages on each rotation, revealing horror after horror. Badger wraps himself in purple velvet, covering his head, and it feels as heavy as if he is buried under hundreds of feet of dirt, far below the jungle...
He wakes up in a sweat. He doesn't feel as though he has slept, but he senses that his arcane stamina has replenished. Badger takes the opportunity to divine the group's fortune, casting the coins and consulting the book. Hmm, pattern fifty-three. The gnarled Pine grows tenaciously off the cliff face. The Superior Person clings faithfully to dignity and integrity, thus elevating the Collective Spirit in his own small way. Good fortune if you stay on course. With that, Badger feels encouraged to continue to solve the riddle before them and find a way to access the rest of the level. He tells his companions so...
"If everyone is prepared and rest. Let us go forward carefully," Silas states before glancing the wall, "I do not believe we have a way back," He'll cast Guidance on whoever takes the lead.

(If the rooms are back to their original configuration then we could just walk out the way we came in. We came down to Level 5 (I think) pretty quick, so maybe we bit off more than we can chew, so I don't mind if you want to return to the upper levels)
To get to plant room would requires us to have familiar hit the button i believe so we can't go back, just forward

You can walk into the plant room. Badger is correct the rooms are in their original configuration. If you want to try to go into some other pathways, you'd need to use a familiar as Silas suggests.

Sickle nods. “I think we came down too quickly. These back halls are very useful but we need to be more methodical I think about how we progress. I suspect these rooms become more difficult to overcome the deeper we go, and perhaps we may learn more above that will help us as we progress.”
On the other hand, thinks Badger in response to Sickle's observations, if those who control and maintain the structure's traps and denizens are deeper in the lair, then we may be at an advantage by having found a way to circumvent said traps and denizens, and perhaps strike sooner at the mastermind.
He opens his mouth to say so, but what comes out is: Yes, too dangerous down here. We should be more methodical in our approach...
