DM- let me know if this doesn't work given the size of the room and will do something else instead- just not sure of everyone's positions.
Horrence, unused to physical attack, scrambles on his knees to try and get away from his attacker (not far enough to disengage, but a foot or so). Panting he takes out a bit of wire from his pocket, twists it into a makeshift coil and pushes a small magnet through it, casting thunderwave. - CON save against 12. On fail take 3 lightening damage or half if succeed.
DM: Its a 15 ft cube so I will target to definitely hit feather guy and to try and hit at least one of the other bad guys while making sure I'm nowhere near either Mika or Ella- hope that makes sense, but not entirely sure of the sizer of the room.
Also on a failed save they are pushed 10ft backwards. I'd like to try and angle the cube so that the feather guy gets pushed back through the window if at all possible.
After the wave of electrical energy Horrence shouts: "Quick my dears, get out of this room now!", and try to usher Ella and Mika towards the door. Assuming he is no longer in melee with the bird person, he will also move to be just outside the room (or heading in that direction).
Acting almost at once, Ella and Horrence unleash their magics into the small room. An invigorating wave of moonglow bursts from around Ella, selectively lavishing protective healing energies around herself, Horrence and Mika. At the same moment, Horrence's manipulation of magnetic forces in the room unleashes a precisely aimed explosion of thunderous force, shoving all three attackers from behind with concussive force.
Unfortunately, the precise placement of the blast under pressure forces Horrence to lower some of its sheer force, so as to avoid hitting his companions. The blast only lightly bruises the thug confronting Mika and the cloaked man pressing Horrence himself, but hurls the woman pressing Ella past her and into the wall on her right with concussive force, stunning her as she bounces off the wall head first ((2 saves and a fail, followed by another fail at a dexterity check to avoid going head first into the wall)).
The axe-wielding thug pressing Mika largely shrugs off the impact of the thunder wave, but is visibly suffering as Mika's relentless electrical assault takes a toll. He steps in and unleashes a backhanded blow with his axe, striking the young girl more with the haft than the blade but still succeeds in halting the closing of Mika's wounds through Ella's divine light. His second attack however, swings wide and Mika manages to maintain her concentration on the lightning spell, driving it home with a desperate shout. The brutish man howls in agony as electricity once more flickers over him, the stench of burning flesh permeating the room as it flays away at him.
His feet solidly planted, the bare-armed warrior facing Horrence barely moves as the concussive force slams into him from behind. Looking at you coldly he speaks, voice cold and emotionless.
"Your tricks and trinkets will not prevent purification. Be. Gone."
With that, he pivots back and unleashes an immensely powerful push-kick directly at your chest ((19 against your AC of 14 for 7 bludgeoning damage. Please roll an [Tooltip Not Found] check to twist into it.))
Upstairs (Corryn's Room):
Corryn, from across the hall outside your room comes the sound of a loud, thunderous explosion and the muffled sounds of intense combat. From your hidden perch in the window, you see out into the street before the Delver's Torch. The chanting parchment bearer lies dead, your bolt transfixing his skull directly between the eyes and hungry motes of fiery light rapidly turning his body into a conflagration.
His remaining colleagues, badly wounded, backpedal desperately as Fodd's massive form charges from the tavern to punch some sense back into the madly giggling form of the ensorcelled Ragnor.
You see them exchange panicked glances and jointly raise their hands, unleashing beams of magical energy at your companions.
Outside (Ragnor and Fodd, with Corryn's overwatch):
Fodd, you run out of the tavern door and come to a panting stop beside Ragnor, who writhes on the floor in the throes of insane laughter. Recognizing it may be the only way to snap him out of it, you punch downward, bopping him on the nose to startle him back into sense. Miraculously, it seems to work, and the bear's eyes clear and the spasming laughter stops. Ahead of you, the two remaining robed figures backpedal somewhat ((maybe 20 feet away now)) and raise their hands, unleashing beams of energy at Ragnor.
The first, a more powerful incantation, stabs out at the wildshaped druid in a pulsing beam of foul smelling light. With a snarl, you throw yourself forward and angle your shield, deflecting it harmlessly sideways and into the cobblestones where a disgusting and unhealthy looking pool of liquid forms as the ray dissipates ((Attack with disadvantage, 17/7 against Ragnor's bear form AC of 11)). The second caster tries to aim their beam of cold past your flickering shield, but is so weak from bloodloss and panicked that they go completely wild ((9/7 against AC 11)).
Ragnor, what do you do?
Next actions sequence:
1. Outside: Ragnor then Fodd then Corryn
2. Ella's Room: Wait for Horrence to resolve his save, then I'll tell you the result and it'll be Ella and Horrence's go again.
Corryn, if you want to leave your room and get stuck into whatever's going on across the hall, just do it whenever. We'll make it work in the initiative order.
Horrence, the kick lifts you bodily off your feet and sends you flying backward past the doorframe of Ella's room and directly toward the closed door of Corryn's chamber. Frantically, you curl yourself into a defensive ball and brace yourself for the impact, striking the door far less heavily than your speed would have implied and without sustaining further damage. This goes unnoticed by your attacker, who turns his back on you and prepares to rejoin the fight where his hapless colleagues are finding Ella and Mika difficult to dispatch.
Ella, the female thug next to you is only lightly wounded, but momentarily too stunned by her impact against the wall to press you. Across the room, Mika and her attacker are in a bloody duel as her electric arc attempts to fly the thug before his axe can slice her to ribbons. Meanwhile, in the doorway, the menacing figure of the feather-cloaked man who just kicked Horrence out of view turns back to survey the fight with a clinical, dispassionate expression.
Horrence and Ella, what do you do?
Corryn's Room (Corryn):
Corryn, your eyes are glued to the fight outside when you hear the heavy sound of something solid connecting against the heavy oaken door of your chamber, causing it to rattle on its hinges.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Seeing the closest intruder momentarily frozen, Ella will take heart and send her spiritual weapon hurling towards the woman with a flick of her mind (18 for 8 force damage).
Seeing it collide with her enemy, her courage bolsters and firms and she snatches the duvet into her arms, spreading it between them. It sheds glass at her feet with the motion, but she backs up across the mattress and with a silent prayer to Sehanine, she runs across the mattress and uses the springy surface to leap into the air, holding the duvet wide, to throw herself at the man in the feathered cloak in an attempt to cover him and knock him to the ground with her weight.
Acrobatics check: 12, so Ella charges forwards. Melee attack roll = 21.
Ragnor rises to his feet and pounces and the healthier of the two casters, swiping first with his claws (8 to hit and 9 damage) and then his jaws (19 to hit and 12 damage)
(As before if the first attack kills the caster then bite is on the second)
Ragnor rises to his feet and pounces and the healthier of the two casters, swiping first with his claws (12 to hit and 11 damage) and then his jaws (26 to hit and 12 damage)
(As before if the first attack kills the caster then bite is on the second)
The kick sends you flying through the air Horrence, and you have only a moment to twist yourself into something resembling a defensive ball before you strike the door to Corryn's room. Thankfully, you managed to get your feet more or less behind you, and you slide down slightly dazed but unharmed. Directly in front of you, you see the man who sent you flying turn away from you with a dismissive half-frown and turn toward Mika. At that moment, a muffled battlecry echoes from somewhere to his left as Ella launches herself off her matress, blanket held up-stretched in both arms like a soft moving wall.
Her leap, intended to land her directly atop your attacker falls considerably short and she stumbles forward, throwing herself at the man by half-falling, half-charging at him. The lack of distance likely saves her, as the man's whirlwind kick slices the air with bone-crunching force at the place her head would have been had the jump gone the distance. Instead, more by chance than skill, she arrives a heartbeat after the kick and falls upon the map before he can complete his rotation. The two of them go down in a bundle, him a struggling mass beneath the thick winter-blanket and her atop it, desperately trying to keep him contained.
Horrence, what do you do?
Outside (Ragnor and Fodd, with Corryn's overwatch):
Enraged, Ragnor you charge in among the terrified casters in your mighty bear wildshape. You land between them, swatting one down with a bone-crushing blow of your claw and then lurching forward to clamp your jaws around the thigh of the second and rip, severing the limb and killing the man near instantly as the shock and pain of it collapses his nervous system in an explosion of blood.
Fodd, Corryn, the outdoor attackers are down. What do you do?
As Ragnor deals comprehensively with the last of the mages, Fodd looks around wildly for other threats, and then for his other companions. Not seeing anyone he runs inside and heads for the stairs. (I don't know how far he'll have to run or how many turns it will take but Fodd will basically run towards any sounds of violence or distress, prioritising distress and calls for help over anything else)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Corryn spins around as he hears the door shudder. Unsure about the situation in the tavern below and concerned about getting cornered, he briefly considers climbing out the window. That, however, would risk his belongings.
Corryn sighs, then flings the window open violently before attempting to conceal himself Stealth: 20.
Horrence scrambles to his feet, bracing himself against the door frame. Seeing Ella and Mika ignore his plea to get out of the room he shouts "Oh may the gods preserve us", and takes out the second of the of the enchanted with [spell] enchanted in his pocket. He looks back and forth between the three assailants before realising he only has a clear shot as one- the female thug.
"Oh if we really must, but then I insist we get out of this buggering room!" he sighs, before hurling the stone as the woman. 9 (Not sure if I get advantage because she is stunned and therefore not moving, but if so, second roll is a 12) for 6 bludgeoning damage. (Note: this is a bonus action)
Scanning the room again, Horrence will pull from the seemingly bottomless inside pocket of his jacket his crossbow. Takes his screwdriver and tightens the trigger while whispering a few arcane phrases, causing once again the bolt to shimmer, casting [Tooltip Not Found]. He will then take a step just outside the door and try to position himself with some cover using the door frame and ready his next attack.
You open the window wide, and the cold night air surges into the room, sending a momentarily chill through you at the sudden change of temperature. Looking hastily about the room, you find few places to hide and so decide on a combined distraction and concealment strategy. Using pillows, blankets and a thankfully empty chamber pot, you construct the illusion of a form still tucked away asleep on the bed, weaving just a hint of Gnomish illusion magic through it to make the whole thing appear more credible. Then, using yet another hint of magic, you thicken the shadows in a corner of the room and conceal yourself there, weapons at the ready and with a clear line of sight to door and window.
Ella's Room and Corridor (Ella, Horrence, Fodd):
Horrence, you step into the room and throw your enchanted screw, which slams into the side of the still dazed thug like a hammer, cracking ribs.
Fodd, lumbering with determination if not necessarily grace or speed, you charge back through the main room of the tavern and power up the stairs, arriving just in time to see a recovered Horrence move into the doorway, shout and cast an enchanted screw into the room. He then backs off, enchanting his ammunition and taking up position in the door with his crossbow held at the ready, shimmering bolt in place.
The thug sprawled on Ella's bed, now recovering from her crash into the wall, groggily retakes her feet. Craddling her bruised side she steps forward and races her made, attempting to pummel you as you desperately try to keep from being thrown from atop the blanket. A stray flail of your arm, with the shield still strapped to it, deflects one blow, but the second connects ((11 and 20 against AC 15, 6 bludgeoning damage)).
The blow threatens to dislocate your shoulder and you tumble sideways, finally allowing the feather-cloaked and now somewhat ruffled leader to break free from entanglement. A quiet fury burns in his eyes as his head snaps around, assessing the room.
Turning to the thug pressing Mika he snaps,
"Kill the witch quickly and let us begone. We'll deal with her minions and lickspittles later."
At that command, the man raises his axe and pushes through the pain in his side to unleash brutal blows against the frail girl. She manages to deflect the first by leaping off the bed, but the second carves into her side. She legs out a scream and collapses, blood pouring liberally from a truly nasty wound and the electricity from her fingertips dissipating.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"No!" Seeing Mika fallen, Ella will instinctively scrabble over to her side across the rough wooden floor, about to attempt to cure her, hand reaching to compress and stem the tide of blood from her side. But then the cloaked man's words sink in, and she changes her mind. Pauses. Takes a gamble and holds her magic, sending her hands scrambling as if unskilled and frantic, pulling Mika into her arms despite the risk of damage. "How could you kill her? She's done nothing to you!" The tears in her eyes are real enough, with the shock of the attack in the night, from the burn in her shoulder and the wound on the side of her head.
(The spiritual weapon will keep attacking the same thug 24 for 4 force damage. If she's hurt again, she'll release a Spare the Dying into Mika's skin, but she's hoping they'll think Mika's dead and leave)
Seeing Fodd pounding up the stairs, Horrence gives out a weak grin and says "Hello their big lad. Would you be so good and to go and collect our friend Mika and get her out of here? Maybe while you're at it see if you can persuade Ella not to try and get herself killed?"
With that he wheels round from his space in the door frame and aims a shot at the male thug who has just stuck down Mika. 10 for 10 piercing damage.
Hearing that Ms. Redstone is in danger, Fodd barely slows down enough to turn into the room. Without really having time to take in the chaos, Fodd grabs Ella as respectfully as he can and pushes her behind him, through the doorway. With his bulk now squarely filling the doorway, he raises his shield and sword, taking a defensive stance. "Get the nice woman to safety please Ms Redstone, Mr Mattiford." he murmurs, keeping his eyes fixed on the intruders. Silently he whispers a prayer to memory of his father and his rusty blade begins to glow again with menacing light (using Channel Divinity for Sacred Weapon). It glints in his eyes, informing the attackers that there only two ways out of the room: through the window, or climbing over Fodd's not inconsiderable corpse.
Ella, full of wroth at the sight of Mika's supine form, you direct your moon-bladed axe to strike out at one of your assailants. The unearthly weapon seems to shimmer as it moves, easily dodging a frantic parry to carve into the wounded woman. You take a half-step toward Mika, preparing a saving enchantment when a hand like banded steel snaps out from your right hand and closes like a vice upon your throat. You choke, unable to invoke your goddess as all passage of air is mercilessly squeezed closed.
Fodd, huffing and puffing you charge up the stairs like a heavily armored bipedal hippopotamus. A glimpse of Mika going down in a spray of blood and Ella reeling sideways from a powerful mace blow and your legs are moving before your mind even catches up. Roaring something wordless halfway between a cry of anguish and a battle-hymn, you storm into the room and charge through it like a battering ram, skidding to a halt beside Mika and scooping her up in one meaty arm. Turning toward the door, you find three foes, now watching you intently, their weapons held at the ready except where their leader, a slender and heavily muscled man idly grips Ella by the throat with a single arm.
You charge, Mika held protectively under one arm as you turn the other shoulder into the oncoming blows. An axe whistles out from your right and slaps between two of your armor plates, biting deep before your momentum pulls it loose, agony flaring from the wound ((20 against AC 18, 5 slashing damage)). You continue powering forward, a mace bounding off your armored shoulder and glancing off ((11 against AC 18)). The man holding Ella gapes for a moment, as he realizes you fully intend to bowl him and his captive over and out of the door. Releasing her, he lashes out with a scything low-kick against your knee but your momentum makes it hard to judge and the bone-shattering blow fails to land ((7 against AC 18)).
You grab Ella as you pass and with a screeching halt, push her and Mika both into the corridor, barely missing Horrence in the process. Turning, you bare your blade and invoke your faith, your father's memory causing it to glow bright with portent.
Ella, you find yourself on one knee, choking for air beside the unconcious and badly bleeding body of the half-elf witch and with only the resolute form of Fodd between you and your attackers. Laying a hand on the half-elf's side you choke out a prayer, throat still agonizingly tight. At first nothing happens, but a moment later you sense a change in the blood flow from the girl's wounds. The steady flow thickens, then congeals, forming a layer of bubbly, solid blood reminiscent of the surface of a crimson moon.
The moment that Fodd rushes back out of the room holding Ella and Mika, Horrence wheels round and slams the door to the room, with the three assailants in it. He he darts away from the door a few feet and takes a small spring from his pocket, wraps it around his screwdriver and pushes it as though it were a button. As he does so his arcane turret, still in the middle of the floor of the room begins to give of three rapid beeps in quick succession before exploding.
DM- its a 10ft radius so ideally the turret will get itself into a place where all three are in the blast zone. Its a DEX save of 12- half damage on a success. 12

Ragnor runs towards the fray as quickly as he can on four paws.
(Assuming I'm too far away to attack but let me know and I'll add that in)
Ella, full of wroth at the sight of Mika's supine form, you direct your moon-bladed axe to strike out at one of your assailants.
