the third watch is uneventful and the party gets to rest. (OOC: everyone can take a long rest)
the party travels for two more days and they were uneventful as well. On the third day of travel, nearing evening (OOC: date and time July 23th 4:00 p.m. this is based on the party traveling 10 hours a day each day. Mark off 2 more rations for those that used them.) the party gets close enough to see the city. (OOC: give me a marching order, and it does not have to be single file.)
Sildar: (to the party) "Its nice to see the city again, I'm glad we made it. Only having one bandit attack against us was pretty lucky."
@ everyone, (OOC: what does everyone do?)

Looking for a new game, if you need a player private message me.
Gniff and Quinn would walk side by side toward the middle of the group. Gniff usually keeps a free hand on the buck as a friendly connection. He is all smiles and would ask questions about the city and life in the city often as it came in to view. It is apparent that he was honest when he said he had never been in a city before, it even sounds a little like he has only been to small villages.
OOC: When the group enters the grounds before the city Quinn would depart and head back to the forest. He would not go far and keep look out for a predetermined signal.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Before breaking camp, Gerrack collects all 7 of the shortswords and 2 of the studded leathers to sell back in the city. He then walks at the head of the group, continuing to scout, until they reach the city.
During these two days of travel time, Gerrack would have set aside time to try to hunt and cook once per day:
Day 1: Hunting (survival): 18 Preparing, if applicable (survival): 13 Cooking, if applicable: 2
Day 2: Hunting (survival): 17 Preparing, if applicable (survival): 9 Cooking, if applicable: 15
Edward assisted with prep and cooking again, so advantage rolls:
Prep day 1 adv, if applicable (survival): 20 Prep day 2 adv, if applicable (survival): 14
Cook day 1 adv: 17 Cook day 2 adv: 2
If Gerrack managed to kill, prepare, and cook something successfully, he would have consumed that instead of any rations, and if the game was large enough, shared a portion with any willing to have some.
(OOC: Gerrack can take the breastplates back from Quinn when the party actually reaches the city, but he'd have to sell his current inventory first or hand it off before he could manage that weight. Let's wrangle all that when we actually safely reach the city gates first, though... just in case.)
After seeing Gerrack hunting Gniff speaks up, "Gerrack, hunting was a way of life for me back in my village. I would be happy to help you hunt if you would like. I think you have a lot of skill though, perhaps just my extra trap might help as well." He holds out the unassembled trap he carries with him and a smile.
Day 1: Gniff has food for Gerrack, Silas, Misty, Edmond, and Finnian.
Day 2: Gniff has food for Gimble, Edmond, Misty, Silas and Tandon.
Gerrack nods to Gniff gratefully. "I a-appreciate the o-offer, but Q-quinn might not. Y-your t-trap will be u-useful, though. But even m-more importantly, p-preparing the f-food afterwards... I u-used to eat it r-raw." His fingers twist nervously together. "That isn't v-very c-c-civilized, I t-think. M-maybe you could s-show me how to p-prepare the g-game properly?"
(If Gniff is willing to lend his trap when Gerrack hunts and help preparing afterwards, how would that affect Gerrack's hunting system/ the rolls he has to make? I'd assume advantage on the preparation survival roll, but not sure how to apply a trap to the hunting roll.)
Gniff waves away Gerrack's first comment, "One of the first things Quinn and I ever talked about was hunting. I may have said but I found him quite injured and sad. When we discussed it however, he had no ill will towards those that did it to him and his family. He just calls it life, which would be accurate seeing as hunters come in more shapes than humanoid. Is a set hunting trap really any different than wolves hunting as a pack?"
"T-True," Gerrack says. "I-I have been hunted before too, so I k-know how me must have felt. S-still, we all must e-eat." He accepts Gniff's help gratefully, and from now on, will hunt with the help of the trap and prepare game with the nature-wise cleric.
"My only caveat is this," he left as a subtle warning, "Use all the animal, nothing goes to waste. Hides get traded, meat gets eaten and bones get ground to meal for fertilizer. I am happy to help with anything you need in this regard, but that is the rule."
Gerrack nods in agreement; this seems self-explanatory. "T-that is how we A-aarakocra have a-always h-hunted," he replies. "I d-didn't know there was a-any other way."

Misty is walking somewhere in the center of the group, probably close to Finnian. She tries to see if she can spot anything off, or out of the norm, as they approach the city.

“Guys we should maybe discuss what it’s going to look like when we get back to town. I know I have to see a man about some gold. My concern is that if we are being hunted by this group here, what will it look like in town. And someone remind me, what’d we decide on the stuff in the caves? Were we going to look for random owners or just tell the Lionshield folks? I think deciding these things before we get into town would be a smart move.”

@ Gerrack, Gerrack only manages to catch one grouse on day 1, but Gerrack manages to prepare it quite well. Removed all the feathers, and the bird is properly skinned. Unfortunately for Gerrack (and who ever else shares in eat the grouse) the grouse is terribly burnt. (OOC: since you aren't in combat as long as you aren't encumbered by the weight, i'll say you can carry the breast plate armors with your hands, but that might be a weird sight to the guards and passerby's)

@ Gimble, (OOC: give me a tinkering check, unless you working on the clockwork thing is just what you intend to do in all your down time as a sort of hobby rather than wanting to complete a project). Much like Misty, you see the same sort of things you saw the last time you approached the city. various farms and orchards outside the city walls near the road leading to the city. You can see there is a typical line infront of the city gates as people and their merchandise, if they bring any, is being inspected by the city guards stationed by the gate.
(OOC: DM's comment, I'm waiting on Hati's post to see what he does, because of what happened last time. so feel free to take your time figuring out what you are gonna do and how you are gonna do it. The next post will be the checkpoint at the city gates and Sildar will say a few things.)

I know ya wanna go to Lionshields to talk with them about their items, but I’d recommend Orchecks, hands down. Seemed like a reasonable chap and willing to barter the price a bit. You can tell him Gimble and Misty sent ya, or I can go with ya.
But I have a couple stops to make first, either way is good to me. But either way, let me tell ya where these shops are at.”
(OOC Tinker check Day 1 6 Day 2 18 Day 3 8 as I do intend to finish this work before attempting to trade the jade frog for that health potion from Barthen)
