"You know...I think we should tell them the truth."  Rober smiles at the astonished looks of his fellows.  "We tell them the city fathers learned of the smuggling operation and just before you launched the boat attacked the house.  Our group were the only ones to escape and we were not able to send a new signal." He waits a moment and then asks, "Is that not the truth?"

“That would be true as a new signal can not be sent. Who here is a smooth enough talker to pull it off?”

OOC: If Alek is still with us I think he should be the one to persuade the pirates of the story, unless someone else has better than a +6 to Persuasion. 

"I will follow your suggestion Rober, it is a good idea and while I do not have a silver tongue I do have some talents in talking my way through situations," Feanaro says as he backs the plan.

OOC: Yes, unless Alek takes the lead Feanaro will head up the ruse. Hoping to do persuasion.

OOC: I believe the plan is to smooth talk our way out by saying that we were jumped after we sent the signal and were getting ready to send our boat out to collect the supplies. Also, that we needed to get into the main ship as we “can’t” go back unless we want to be “caught.”

 Yes, that's the plan.  I am hoping the Alek (player historymahor) will be available to do it with +6 Persuasion.

OOC: he hasn't responded in a while so I don't think he will, I can give a decent intimidate check with advantage, but no diplomacy on my character.

"It might be more convincing if you seemed to have caught someone, by my wrists loosely with a rope." says Ogren.

Rober nods at the dwarf.  "You have a point, Ogren."  He then quickly loops some rope about the dwarf's wrists in a complicated looking pattern that nevertheless can be escaped quite easily.  "Now, who's going to persuade the pirates in the boat to take us to the ship?"

ooc: Feanaro has the next best Persuasion, followed by Rober.

"I will do my best, I will simply say that I am the former Sanbalet's apprentice and that we were the only ones able to get away with the dwarf as a prisoner. They should let us go to their boat for safety," Feanaro looks ot the others for confirmation.

“Let is do that, Feanaro.” Rober is ready for the action to begin.

“If worst comes to worst I can quickly subdue someone if they are a little distracted,” says Alex who is ready for the two small boats to meet.

The two boats draw closer together, the three aboard the other rowboat giving you all wary looks.

"New recruits I see."  One of them says with a nod.  "What is the deal with the dwarf there though? Why be his hands tied?"

"How ye going ta carry any of the stuff back with ye, when ye have da boat filled with all of ye?"  Another asks, eyeing the full rowboat you are in.

Rober watches the approaching host carefully, waiting to see if they take ruse or not. He tries to look harried and worried.  He doesn’t make any sudden moves but he does put Cyryc in a position to leap into the other boat.

He glances over his shoulder, back at the house, a couple of times, to give the impression he’s afraid of something back there.

"The operation has been compromised, Sanbalet has sent us out here so we can get to your ship. This dwarf was with the group that attacked and we wanted to question him. Let's get to safety and talk more," Feanaro kept his tone straight and gestured to the ship in the distance, giving off an air of no nonsense.

"Well that no be good." He says, waving his companions to turn around their boat.  "Best get ye ta da ship so we can be asking yer dwarf there some questions."

You have been given your way onto the ship.  Do you have any plans you want to make as you board, or are you just going to follow the other rowboat and board with them?

OOC: My character can use telepathy So I will use [ ] when using that ability, also this will be sent to all party members.

[Organ this is Alex, see if you can increase you size while we are on the boat. The best time would be when you feel that the social situation is about to fail. After you become larger please try and strengthen your self as much as you can and attack the boat’s sails leaving them stranded. We will help support you by taking out the people. Once the sails or mast are gone please help us with the capturing. This is a one way communication so please don’t try and respond, if you think of something please act on it because we will have limited communication past this point.]

ooc: If the boats got close enough for Cyryc to jump into the pirate's boat, he'll do that.

Rober continues to look over his shoulder from time to time but is actually readying his Chromatic Orb to cast on the most likely target.  He's thinking whoever is at the tiller but is keep his options open.  He smiles without humor...no need for an eldritch knight to ready his weapons, though.

Orgen hearing voice in his head nods and begins to yell loudly in Dwarvish. In short, he called all his captures' mothers bucktooth wenches, the crew bastard sons, and the captain a fool. As he was lifted into the ship he struggled making it look as convincing as possible, cursing in Dwarvish along the way.     As he makes it unto the ship he pauses for breath then says in common, "Alright you bleeding bastards, which one of you is the captain!"
